I would imagine a game as high caliber as this on xbox, MS has already told the devs anything less than 1080p/60fps is unacceptable.

Yes.

It's mainly the enthusiasts and hardcore that 1) even understand what the hardware specs translate to (I'm sure many here don't) and 2) are going to put that much worth into the specs at all.

In addition, where it is argued that the PS4 has a lower price and better specs, the X1 may have a higher price but is offering physically more. Remember, we're talking "average consumer" here, not community insiders. A consumer could see ...

"I think that will play a role. Brand loyalty only goes so far (see the early PS3 days and the current Wii-U situation, for reference) when a customer looks further down the shelf and sees a console for $100 less with better-looking games."

- But how would a customer know it has better looking games without being "in the loop" among the gaming community? In other words, for consumers outside the community, where does this scenario come into play? Yes, the ...

There was nothing "cherry picked" about it. It was the pic from the goddamn article - coincidentally, an article about how multiplats will also look better on PS4... Apparently clicking on "Read full story" and using a pic from said story, constitutes as "cherry picking."

"far better?" really? Just look at the comparison pic in the article:

http://geekspodcast.com/gee...

I'm not seeing "far better" there. The multiplats released on both systems thus far, have had small differences. There has not been a case of one version (PS4 or otherwise) looking significantly or "far better" than th...

Something to consider when comparing Ryse to KZ, is the significant differences in aesthetic and themes. KZ is future is based, with a lick, streamlined aesthetic, while Ryse takes place in ancient Rome, with a grittier feel. regardless of graphic capabilities, these differences alone are going to sway peoples opinions one way or the other.

When speaking about which game "looks" better, it is important to recognize graphics vs aesthetics, since they are not the same...

His comment is related to the graphics - the look and feel of the game. What you bring up is a product of gameplay. That being said, and have but a good amount of hours into the Ryse, It seems to run fine.

I don't "think" anything, I don't care if others think it is valid. There approval doesn't change facts.

Oh, and thanks for this awesome nugget of maturity and adulthood you sent me via PM, under a different username of course:

It isn't sold out everywhere... I was just at Target over the weekend, and the guy had like 3 in stock, and like 8 X1's.

"I still can't tell if people are really stupid enough to think "the cloud" is good enough to enhance games, or whether it's just sarcasm."

- in all fairness, he never claimed that the cloud would enhance anything... He only asked the question, "What better application for the cloud than gaming?" implying that gaming is an excellent platform for cloud technology, which it is.

I didn't have a problem with DNF. Perhaps it's because I understood the circumstances involved with the development process, or maybe just because I like Duke Nukem...

I remember reading the reveal article for DNF (I don't think it was called that back then) in PC gamer back in the 90's. I read a lot of pieces on the the game throughout the years - the delays, the problems with 3DRealms, etc. Perhaps I took the ma...

The whole concept of resolution between PS4 vs X1, has been so dramatically exaggerated to the point of ridiculousness, that they aren't even funny. They just come off at low blows and "yeah bro" chest bumps from the Sony camp. We are talking overall small differences, not High-end PC vs Atari...

As mentioned below, there is a wealth of potential for classes. For instance, how about a melee focused class or a supportive class that can offer offensive of defensive advantages to friendly mechs? Maybe a mech that can repair itself and o...

The original Thief games were excellent. Thief 2 is among one of my favorite games, and even today, remains one of the greatest stealth games I ever played. It didn't rely on character gimmicks or abilities, that eventually turned you into a "super thief" that could see through your opponents eyes, jump from rooftop to rooftop like Batman, or sneak past people in broad day light...

It relied on using the shadows and avoiding noise, along with using simple gadget...

@SonyStyled

That's cool and all, and I don't think anyone questioned them as developers, but making good games is not the same as setting "cinematic and technical benchmarks."

Crytek has set benchmarks multiple times in graphics, yet as games, their projects are lackluster.

Your logic makes no sense...

I specifically stated my reasons for playing console, and "best of the best" hardware is not the reason, so it isn't the case of would I be willing to spend an extra $100 for weaker hardware, it's about would I be willing to spend an extra $100 for a console that delivers the experience I am looking for regardless of hardware, and the answer was yes. PS4 may boast better hardware, but outside of that, it has nothing I want, so wh...

Couldn't this same logic be applied to why Titanfall was initially announced for X1 first? (before it was solidified as exclusive) Respawn approached both companies with their wants/needs, and MS delivered:

"I personally talked to both Microsoft and Sony and explained that we need to find a way to have potentially hundreds-of-thousands of dedicated servers at a price point that you can’t get right now. Microsoft realized that player-hosted servers are actually holdin...

Let's propose some scenarios:

Let's say a main reason for your console gaming is the social aspect. On one end, you have a system that all of your gamer friends are getting. On the other end, a system none of your gaming friends are getting. In this aspect, which system seems like "common sense" to get?

Let's say a person overwhelmingly prefers one console's controller over the other. Let's also assume that as far as games go, vi...
