It's good to see it's finally up and running. I never got into it, but I know a lot of people were waiting for it.
If they did a price cut like this in the states, then things might get interesting.
1) It wasn't know to be a "turnd in a box" until after it released and reviews came in, so how could they have known that?
2) One of the main reasons for Gearbox picking up DN, was because Pitchford was with 3dRealms back when it was originally being developed. After all these years and hardships the development process endured, when it became known that his company Gearbox could take over a game that Pitchford originally was putting work into, he was interested...
To be fair, Duke Nukem wasn't really their game. it started at 3DRealms (where Pitchford worked) and was passed around numerous times, before Gearbox picked it up and finally released it.
But the game isn't actually overhyped, and the hype the game is generating, tends to be backed up or justified. Yea, there are sites or critics out there claiming that this game will be better Jesus, but they tend to be the minority.
The game is hyped, and rightfully so:
- It's won a record amount of awards
- It being developed by key devs behind COD
- It's been praised by virtually everyone who has played, including critics and th...
Yeah. From what I've seen, it looks like the moved the focus from actually being a thief, which means little to no combat and strong focus on stealth and subterfuge, to changing Garrett into more of an assassin that steals things, so now if you are detected, you don't have to hide or run and hope to not be discovered, and instead you can just engage in combat and break some necks or such... Seems like they shifted the stealth mechanic to more of an option than a necessity.

"so it'll have a chance to microtransaction to happen, right?"
- yeah, just like it'll have a chance to remain micro-transaction free....stop jumping to conclusions and worrying so much - I know everything that involves MS and/or EA must be broken and anti-consumer, but can you at least wait for the game to launch first?
@ Whiskeyjacked87
...which practically every "xbot" already has...
and like Aces said, this decision has to do with EA, not MS. This was already explained above - how EA was going to run this game like they did ME3's MP, which means certain aspects are saved server side, which means internet connection required. You don't have to like it, but at least acknowledge it...
"What are you talking about the All PS4 games are in 1080p. The only one game is in 900p that is Battlefield 4 ."
- Which means not all games are in 1080p...
Besides, yet again, it still does not take away from the fact that 1080p is not an industry standard in console gaming. You can try to justify or disprove this, but it's not going to make it any less true, even if every PS4 game was 1080p, 1080p still isn't the industry standard.
The flaw in your argument, is that you are putting all the worth and value of the system, solely on its tech specs and/or graphics capabilities, while disregarding any and everything else the console could offer. It is an extremely shortsighted, disingenuous, strawman point of view.
Regardless of your tech specs or citing how powerful the PS4 is, it doesn't change my original statement - "1080p is not the standard in console gaming."
You can stomp your feet and shake your fist in denial all you want, but it's just the truth. 1080p is the *next step* in console gaming, not an industry standard, thus games not in 1080p are completely validated and "excusable." Even if a "next-gen" console went it's entire life cycl...
"720p on a brand new console in 2014 is inexcusable,"
Give me a break... 1080p is not the standard in console gaming, it is the next big step, just like 4k for PC, so games not reaching this goal are perfectly excusable.
If you honestly thought console games were going to go from 720p as the majority, to virtually everything in 1080p with little to no transition phase, then you don't understand how these advancements work.
the "weaker" argument only applies to those who use hardware secs as a deciding factor for which console to buy. What about all the people who bought a Wii? Gullible? What about all the people that enjoyed their Wii? Gullible liars?
People are going to buy what most appeals to them and/or what most suits their wants/needs. If product A is less expensive and more powerful, yet lacks particular features/aspects that the weaker more expensive product B has, which is th...
Play older games like Quake, YT or RTCW. The skill element was based around reflexes, aim and positioning, not who can shoot first or find the best hiding spot to camp. A lot of older games like these didn't even have one shot headshot kills, to help alleviate the "everybody wants to be a sniper" epidemic.
Battles were determined in actual firefights, where even a player getting attacked from behind, could turn around and come out on top.
Ever...
Yeah, it's seems like an arbitrary comparison...
Destiny is essentially an MMOFPS for people who don't typically play MMO's. It has a high focus on story-driven gameplay and character development, as well as catering to solo players, co-op, and PVP.
Titanfall is strictly competitive MP - No single player, no co-op (that we've seen.) It is presented in the traditional match format, with a winner and a loser, repaying the same scenario over and ...
Like others here, I'm not pre-ordering either. I am renting it from Gamefly, and then paying the $45 to keep it.
pre-orders don't account for digital copies, high are popular on PC, and increasing on next-gen systems.
Pre-orders also don't make up all sales. They typically make up a small portion.
"If EA can't kill CoD with Battlefield, how the heck are they going to do it with Titanfall?"
- Really?! because BF is vastly different from COD, be it the overall pace, the gun mechanics, the damage scales, the gamemodes, etc. In order to "kill" something (in gaming terms) you typically want to offer something that will attract players form the competitive audience. Since BF and COD have such a gap in similarity, it results in 2 separate audiences wi...
@MaxwellBuddha
"graphics vs aesthetics" doesn't really apply here, since we are talking about resolution, with is clearly a graphics/hardware related term, regardless of the game's aesthetic.
Whether or not a game reaches 1080p, is a measure of a game's hardware capabilities as well as the capabilities of the devs, which has nothing to do with aesthetic. The latter of these two tends to get overlooked, putting all scrutiny solely on har...
Regardless what anti-MS proponents beleive, their are 3 factors as to why I simply rule out "desperation."
1) Regardless how well PS4 is selling, X1 is not selling poorly. It is selling well, and considering the horrendous fiasco with the DRM at their reveal, the sales numbers could be seen as surprising good.
2) The console is still in it's infancy. It hasn't even been 6 months yet, hell, it hasn't even reached the point for people to g...
