"i think even with that they would struggle.
in UK its £429 with no games(roughly $599??)
i paid 389 for my ps4 with 2 games on launch day.
i just cant see the value in MS console at all."
- I see this justification often, but it seems likes a scenario that really only holds merit based on a "lone gamer" mindset, that is, a player that isn't concerned with friends/social aspects or feature...
Especially on CTF...

"It's bad this gen and no the gap will never be closed you can't help dated hardware..."
Depending how you look at it, either both are using dated hardware, or neither are.
- In terms of the actual power of the hardware, both are dated. Consoles are always behind the curve, since they need to stay at a competitive price point.
- In terms of R&D or any custom architecture being used, neit...
In light of all the comments focused on sales, I was talking with a friend of mine who is the electronics manager at a Walmart, about the reasoning behind the situation that is currently taking place of PS4 always being sold out vs X1 always being available ("always" not in a literal sense) and here is what he said.
"I have seen 4 ps4 shipped into my store since Christmas,,thats it. they are out everywhere cause they arent supplying. Xb1 has been shipping in r...
They need to drop the price - that's it's biggest downfall right now.
In addition to the monetary aspect tied to selling cheats/hacks, there's also the competitive aspect and always wanting to have the edge over others, similar to steroids and athletes.
"The concept of diminishing returns has been around and in play for more generations than just this one. Doubling power doesn't necessarily double the eye candy, since there's more of everything going on in the background and right up front."
- which is part of my point. So many are boasting the "50% more power" claim and similar ones, without truly knowing what it actually means. Many are interpreting is an "across the board" statement, ...
The argument is not about whether or not there is "proof." The argument is whether people are going to warrant the differences as meaningful or not. The PS4 version of a game could have 1000x more resolution and/or rendering shading techniques going on, but if it results in a "it looks a little better" all that talk of power essentially falls short.
Your argument stems from the numbers game - claiming that regardless what people see the "proof" i...
The problem with people claiming the game is overhyped, is that the hype for this game is justified. It isn't just some empty promises or marketing speak building up the game. Titanfall has won a record amount of awards, it has had overwhelming positive reception from nearly every facet, including those who played it at game shows, the alpha and the beta, along with press/media coverage. It's been demonstrated hands-on by both the media and the community. If "the proof is in the ...
The argument isn't about the PS4's hardware advantage. The argument is despite the advantage, is the PS4 producing visuals at such a higher fidelity over the X1, that it's even worth bringing up the "superior hardware" argument? Based on every multiplat released, I have not seen a case of this, despite the PS4 version having higher res or otherwise - the differences simply are not substantial enough to boast the PS4's power gap.
And save me the "...
@mewhy32
"super powered GPU"... yeah, you keep thinking that... The PS4 may be more powerful than the X1, but it's components are far from "super powered."
What does that even mean?! Is it powered by the same arc reactor that powers iron man's suit?
@medman
The flaw in your argument is that the only instance where 1080p is the "current standard" in gaming, is with PC. For consoles, 1080p is the next step. In fact, it won't become standard ("standard" in terms as the "go to" resolution that isn't talked about when a game achieves it) until later this gen, or next-gen.
the graphics fidelity issue, really only applies to consumers who follow gaming news and/or are gamers themselves. It is a specific concern that effects a specific demographic. Even among gamers, the console with the better graphics, isn't necessarily the no-brainier choice.
I'd say the 2 biggest factors are price and the DRM reveal fisaco. Some might say the bundled Kinect is an issue, but it seems more that the added price because of the Kinect is the issue. If the ...
"Not being as good an FPS player as others, the bots provide an excellent way to balance out the scoring system for all player levels."
- here is a good video illustrating why devs implement mechanics like this in games. It's called "balancing for skill."
https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Yeah, once you play the game, you notice that the presence of the AI really doesn't change/ruin anything. If anything, they add a cosmetic flair to the game - something to make the battle seem more dynamic. Something simply adding more players wouldn't do, since the AI is scripted to behave a certain way, rather than the random behavior of players. They are also marked on the minimap, so you know if it is a bot or a player.
The X1 is already capable of 1080p...in numerous games.
I think far too much emphasis is being put on the X1's hardware itself, instead of on the devs ability to fully utilize it yet. I'm not saying once devs "Crack the code" that all game will be 1080p/60fps, only that you can't just blame the hardware and dismiss everything else.
@lsujester
But this one did, which was my point of bringing it up - to differentiate it from a mere demo.
@FriedGoat
"Have you played the game Horse?"
- Yes, I played the beta. Got to the max level.
"I've been a competitive fps player since doom m and Titanfall is really a very average game."
- I never claimed Titanfall was a very comp-focused title. I only bring up the competitive aspect to counter the negativity surrounding the 6v6 aspect of the game. If players are using this in competitive level gamin...
@arkard
"Did you catch the words used in that last line? "Dedicated servers" not cloud based computing. The 360 is not and will not use Azure for more than hosting."
- which is completely irrelevant...
I was responding to zeuanimal's claim:
"You do know the 360 and PC don't have access to those dedicated servers, right? Only the X1 has access to them and somehow Respawn are supposed to make ...
" Wow. It's always going to be a trade off between resolution or FPS."
NBA2K14 - 1080p/60fps on both consoles
NFS: Rivals - 1080p/30fps on both consoles
UFC Fighting - 1080p/30fps on both consoles
Fifa 14 - 1080p/60fps on both consoles
Dying Light - 1080p/60fps (aiming for) on both consoles
- yeah, always...
