"They think by you getting the vastly superior PC version, you're being insecure of admitting defeat in some way."

- it depends on the variables. If a PS4 player was looking forward to playing this game, and has now opted to play this game on PC due to there being no other option, then it could be translated as admitting defeat.

It's also funny how you talk about insecurity, and then add the completely unnecessary "vastly superior" li...

Although I get what you're saying, it isn't just a fee to play online - it's a fee to access what PSN/PS+ offers - you are paying to use a service. That being said, these things are still free on PC, like Steam.

Maybe I'm old fashioned and still have things like "morals" and "a conscience," but if I found a loophole like this, I would do 1 of 2 things:

1> inform Sony of it.
2> be aware of it, but not partake in it.

I do this all the time with exploits/glitches in games.

Does this deadzone update apply globally to the x1 controller, or is it title specific?

"you try to change the arguement to seem like its just about which is best looking."

- because that is the part of the arguments I am focusing on - it is also on topic with the what the article is about - the game and the resolution it is running at.

"Its ok that its not the best looking game ever but when you buy a new 500$ console you have some basic expectations and ms just isnt living up to them."

@DeadManIV

Yeah, well, your "expectations" mean nothing, especially considering you likely have no experience in this field, (engineering, r&d, etc.) and are basing your expectations off nothing but personal opinion.

In response to the "$500 for 792p," comments, my question is this:

If graphics and high resolutions were/are such a high deciding factor when it comes/came to which platform to play games on, why wouldn't you just play on PC? Even the PS4 isn't playing all games at 1080p, and when it does, they all aren't at 60fps, so why is there so much emphasis on a factor that isn't even the medium's strong point?

It also seems extremely clos...

The article is not flawed, in the sense that it is purposely using only consoles for it's data. He even sets the criteria by stating:

"And for those of you wondering, my criteria for who’s, “in the lead” is simple. It will be who ever is profiting the most from their console’s success."

Who is profiting from their "console's success," as in the success from console sales alone, not in addition to the games people buy.

Maybe it is, but the game is likely supposed to be really dark anyway.

I liked the subtle detail of the birds giving away the monsters position. I like the class-based co-op gameplay, the addition of a medic class (My preferred) is good news for me. I'm curious about the other types of monsters, both in variety and amount.

I love how people try to shift the argument into "xbox always does this," instead of just admitting that Sony is the one in question here. It's like getting caught stealing, and then claiming it's okay because the neighborhood kids do it all the time....

Even in the face of controversy, some sony fans will still detract the argument to MS...

If you would feel "obligated" to play, then perhaps the game isn't for you? When I was heavy into MMO's, I played 2 at once - WoW and CoH. Both were subscription based, and both gave me hundreds of hours worth of playtime. I never once felt obligated to play. I didn't want to play, I didn't. the thing is though, back then, I didn't want to play anything but those games, which is why I gladly paid to play them, which is how many people who play MMO's feel.

I played the ESO beta over the weekend, and one think that stood out was that it didn't feel like an ES game. I mean the races were there and the lore and locales, but it felt like I was playing a different game set in the ES universe.

Just to address the question in the the title - No, it is not a sport, legitimate or otherwise. It is a game, like like professional poker or billiards.

"Not being able to use a giant sized armored mech to shoot through walls doesn't make sense..."

- it's a video game... The idea of riding in giant mechs doesn't make sense...

..."and is a bit gimpy."

- you mean "offers balance to the game?" Going by your "doesn't make sense" logic, the mechs should essentially be able to shoot or even punch/run through virtually anything, aside from rein...

Many seem to want to disregard this, or they move the goalposts in their favor. Mention a game is 1080p on X1, they bring up the 30fps framerate. Mention games that have 1080p/60fps, they bring up that there is technically less going on behind the scenes. It's a vicious cycle of trying to discredit any and every achievement the X1 makes, especially if it's in direct competition with PS4.

I'm likely in the minority, but I don't buy consoles for games, I buy them for the social aspect of games. All my gaming friends play xbox, so I own one to play with them. If it was a case of having no gaming friends, I would have just stuck with PC, like I did for many years. In this regard, I don't really care which console has the "superior hardware" or not, since it has no factor on my experience of my decision to purchase one.

There has not and like...

I see 2 big flaws people keep doing when attempting to downplay the Kinect:

1 - determining it's usefulness only by the amount of games that integrate it.

Even without games, the Kinect is a very useful device. From "xbox on," to the DVR features, to skype, to dashboard navigation and other voice commands, the Kinect has proved itself (at least to me) that it is a welcomed addition to my console gaming experience.

2 - The motion co...

By citing hardware specs, many of you seem to be taking the "catch up" statement in the wrong context.

The "catch up" reference has nothing to do with closing the gap from a hardware standpoint, but rather regardless of hardware, games will look largely the same. Even now, when games are released with higher res on PS4 vs X1, the differences are largely negligible.

As for the mindset of "if X1 will get better, so will PS4," there...

I've never played TLOU, and never will, so I can't comment on the game from experience, but regardless how many people praise it or dislike it, how many awards it wins or doesn't, and how many people think they deserve those rewards or not, nothing is set in stone.

Everything is subjective, for those who want to type out long-winded responses trying to prove to others that their viewpoint holds credence over others - you're wasting your time, because no matte...
