It seems like many people are taking pre-order data to mean much more than it actually does, some even going to the extent that based on pre-order data, PS4 is going to "win" the entire generation...
Sony fans...in the words of Winston Wolfe, "let's not start sucking each others dicks quite yet."
I'm not denying that Sony is in a commanding lead at the moment, and that they are going to have a very solid launch, both for console an...
@Cable
I'm not really seeing what you're saying. The exact opposite would imply that many choose which console to buy based on the exclusives they offer, and if that is what you are saying, I'm not denying that. Yes, people do this, but it isn't a case of "one or the other," since both scenarios exist.
As for the basis of having a "console war," there are a multitude of reasons, one of them being really no reason at all. Ju...
First off, the "naysayers" are approaching the TV integration form the wrong perspective. Xbox fans aren't boasting about the TV feature yet PS fans always bring it like they are. For many, it isn't so much about wanting to watch TV on your console vs not, it is more about it being a nice feature - of a convenience rather than a deciding factor or marketing point, and regardless if you are interested in the feature or not, I think we can agree on the convenient factor.
But even still, this is largely opinion, seeing that X1 will also have exclusive titles. Furthermore, many players care little for exclusives, with their decision for purchasing a console being for other reasons.
Choosing a console for games and choosing a console for exclusive games, are not the same thing. For many people, removing the exclusives from both consoles, would have little to no effect on their gaming activity, so in this regard, the question of which console off...

"People always come over to my house also and they can't even use my mouse because it is so fast and accurate.. Amuses me but I am a nerd and spend too much time on a computer so I don't feel bad for them. Just funny to me is all, they aren't used to the speed and accuracy."
Yeah, my friends did the same for me...Between game and Windows settings, along with the setting of the device itself, the sensitivity can be cranked pretty hig...
@badz149
"Sony charge for BC? wow...how long will you stick to that argument? do you know how stupid THAT argument is when you look at it from a wider perspective?"
And in this sentence, you have just outlined the basis for virtually every argument in the X1 vs PS4 debate, specifically regarding MS's initial reveal and controversial polices of the X1 and the unfavorable response many had in return - It all comes down to perspective.
Both...
"Competitive disadvantage?"
Not only have I not encounter this "serious" competitive disadvantage you speak of, I have encountered no disadvantage at all. In fact, it wasn't until I started using a trackball that I really saw how high my skill level could go. With a mouse, I was only able to achieve a portion of my potential, a trackball was able to take me the rest of the way.
Have you ever used a trackball? I mean actually "used...
It's cool to see Razer making one of those "transforming" mice. It looks promising, as do may of their products. Sometimes I get tempted to try them out, but I know they are not going to offer me a favorable experience, because I have been using (and prefer) trackballs for the past 15+ years.
I really wish a reputable company would release a gaming-grade trackball.
The announcement is GOW4 will be available for Xbox One.
@insomnium2
If MS isn't to be trusted, perhaps you could at least use a convincing argument as to why. Using the reason "MS goes back on their own word. That's why they're not to be trusted," isn't really a convincing argument, seeing that people going back on their word, or in this context essentially "admitting you are wrong," isn't really an untrustworthy act.
A company that has ideas/polices and then changes them be...
I see your point, but you don't have to stick it to your console...
It's not a contradiction. It's like how some people will find the lower price of the PS4 tempting, while others may say the same for the included Kinect bundle of the X1, regardless that it's more expensive - It's opposite side of the same spectrum. There is also the idea of what audience you are trying to target.
Regardless of the community backlash and recent trends of bad press, I really don't think MS is as "evil" or "stupid" as man...
@Metfanant
I think you missed the part when starchild said, "you generally pay more to get more..." Despite the PS4 offering a lot for a little, it still cannot compare with what a PC can offer, and it isn't about what a PC at the same price point can offer - that argument is just console fans trying to move the goal posts.
using cars an an example, the PS4 (or any console) is like a sporty, fuel efficient car, with lots of features, a good top ...
To each their own. I can't stand wireless anything. Wired counterparts are more reliable and tend to overall offer better quality results.
No input lag, no rf interference, no changing/recharging batteries, no loss to performance due to a lesser power source, etc.
@nukeitall
"People asked, and MS gave it. Why look a gifted horse in the mouth?"
- Well, that's exactly what happened when MS reversed their policies, so I guess it was expected...some people you just can't make happy.
Regardless of what you have to pay for or not, the fact that I will have the xbox controller and XBL, vs the dualshock 4 and PSN, is already worth the money, but there's more.
I have owned every generation of xbox, and I have enjoyed the service and features they have provided me. I have no gripes with xbox - any of them. I have built up relationships online that I wish to maintain, and have a group of gaming buddies that make for good company. Despite the "superior...
@kayoss
"I guess you're PC gamer. Its true we cant play those games you mentioned. But yeah have fun upgrading your PC every year to play new games."
- Posts like this really shows the ignorance of some people. "Upgrade every year?" Really? I just built my new rig in 2012. My last PC was from 2006 and I didn't upgrade just to play games, it was to play them to their max potential. People who take PC gaming seriously will NEVER have to upgr...
If the beta plays as good as those screens look, that may not be a problem...
Dante's Inferno is like God of War. I don't know about the other 2 games, because I never played them.
And stating that you're interested in innovate games, doesn't somehow negate other people interest in the kinect. Ironically, the Kinect can be used to make games more innovative, so I find it odd you would simply resort to calling it a "gimmick."
And how the hell is God of War "innovative?" It took concepts form older gam...
Where Sony fans have a good laugh at AA batteries due to "inefficiency" and use of old tech, they overlook one very simply fact. Batteries are easily obtained and replaced. You can buy batteries virtually anywhere, and you can even use rechargeable ones, so replacing them isn't a huge deal. Furthermore, if you want to use a battery pack, MS is offering one as well. Where you gonna buy a new battery pack for your PS4? Oh yeah...you would need to buy an entire other controller... ...
