Thanks for being fair and honest, but I was actually responding to this:
"Sorry MS but your credibility is next to nil with all of these 180s. Just keep your head down, keep an eye on the pulse of the possible consumers and make the best decisions you can to try and claw your way back."
Instead of "emotionally charged, " perhaps I just should've said "dramatic."
It's "fanboyism 101."
Step 1: Find features or aspects about the competition that can be seen as a negative, and exploit them.
Step 2: If competition ever rescinds or changes said "negative" features, focus on the reasons why not the result, and discredit them. Also, it may help to bring up past negative or controversial endeavors the competition may have involved in, regardless if it relates to the current topic or not, to fuel your a...
You were doing good, up until the second paragraph...then things got a little bias and emotionally charged.
@MWong
Are you implying the Sony doesn't "force" anything onto consumers with their controller?
Why "force" players to have to unscrew the entire back of the controller to access the battery if it needs replacing, rather than having a dedicated access panel?
Why "force" players to use the built-in battery controller, offering them no other options?
Your comment only amounts to anything if a person has a (high) interest in exclusives. For instance, my gaming friends and I aren't too worried about exclusives or the lack of, since the majority of games we play are multiplat, like Borderlands, Battlefield, Mass Effect 3 MP, and a plethora of co-op games.
Sure, we play games like Halo and Gears, but we're not sitting idly by watching the launch date countdown timer tick down, and they certainly weren't a decidin...
Oddly, I don't see xbox fans as the ones primarily cheerleading for the X1 to be more like PS4. Xbox fans were likely going to get an X1 regardless. It was mainly the non-dedicated and on the fence gamers that found the X1's initial policies "evil" enough to drive them away.
You mean a more generic, playing it safe console?
When X1 was first introduced, it was bold and innovative, and something actually put the "next" in "next-gen." After the community rejected it and essentially forced MS to shave its head and castrate it, now it's little more than xbox 360 v2.0
It does seem like a good portion of the people against the Kinect, were never going to buy an X1 regardless.
I really don't understand the hate towards the Kinect - does it eat babies? People are claiming it is "forced" on them, and because of that, they won't buy an Xbox. Using an example I saw in a different article, do you have cable? Does your cable package have channels that you don't really watch? Were you able to hand pick each channel? Oh you wer...
Does the Kinect come wrapped in smallpox infected plastic? Is it painted with Radium? Does it qualify as a carcinogen according to the FDA or AMA? I was just curious, because some people are acting like it may have one or all of these qualities, and I just wanted to be safe. Is it able to power itself? If you keep in a lead box in your house, will it still be able to read your mind and spy on you while you pick your nose and play games or rub one out to gay porn, and then send that "sens...
Umm, this logic works both ways...it isn't "Xbox fan exclusive."
You make it sound like all the hate is for some noble cause... I really don't give the majoirty of people that much credit. If your prediction was accurate, you'd think that all these people would be more organized or focused with their "message," and channel their disapproval in much more productive means, but that isn't the case...not even in the slightest.
The amount unfavorable responses is likely due to nothing more than Xbox being something people...
The HDMI input can be used for more than just TV, the TV/cable box just tends to be the go to device when discussing the usefulness/purpose of the port.
Also, to claim the X1 is not "focused" on gaming, is plain ignorant. The mindset seems to be that since X1 is focused on more than just gaming, that it's not a "Dedicated" gaming console...what a close-minded, naive viewpoint.
And before I get any "so what," or "I use m...
@bones
You, like everyone else, have chosen to focus mainly on one aspect while ignoring the other. The brunt of my argument is about functionality - how the standard AA battery controller offers the the ability to never lose wireless functionality, over the need to recharge the controller via plug. This was actually mentioned in a few post as reason for preferring batteries, since they could just swap out batteries and be done. If you personally do not mind about needing to ...
@joecanada
" Obvious troll attempt ... If you have ever actually used a ps3 controller you know they last forever, recharge in no time and can be plugged in easily in emergency .... AA batteries are not convenient I went through 8 pairs of rechargeables for 360 in the past year alone."
- Despite the popular opinion that anyone "siding" with MS/xbox and/or "bashing" Sony/PS4 must be a troll, I assure you, I'm not. I presented a case w...
@ HammadTheBeast
I wasn't comparing anything. The purpose of my post wasn't to justify MS's decision to use batteries by downplaying the features of theDS4. My purpose was simply to show that that each side can have its merits and downfalls, and that despite what you think, it isn't a matter of one side being right and the other wrong.
Another point, and perhaps the more important aspect(which seems to conveniently be getting ignored) is that the sta...
@Jeebus
And even still, it comes down to perspective. See, there really is no definitive way to "prove" that Sony is the better alternative in this scenario, because different people either prefer different things, or have different tolerance levels. Besides, as was mentioned, those who would prefer a battery pack, will just buy the play-n-charge anyway.
In your example, the tablet alternative may be the more up-to-date or efficient method, but that does not...
Overall, games will likely look largely the same, with the real differences coming from exclusives. Despite the differences in hardware power/performance or ease of developing on each system, an important thing to factor in is "system parity." This is the reason so may multiplats looks largely the same.
I'm anxious to see how Thief is turning out, since Thief 2 is one of my favorite games. Even when that game came out 13 yrs. ago, the stealth mechanic and AI was pretty impressive. Let's just hope these aspects keep up with the times and are even better now.
I find it odd that the NSA controversy with MS really hit home with people in your area, despite the NSA controversy (PRISM in particular, which is what MS was claimed to have been linked to) that takes place with many other companies, as well with the internet as a whole and phone lines.
here are some other companies claimed to have been linked to PRISM:

Facebook
Google
Apple

I'm not complaining about people complaining.
First off, "complaining" and "having your voice heard in a constructive manner," are not necessarily the same. In this regard, I am sick of the complaining, since they are largely pointless.
My main point is that when people complain about something, and then those complaints manifest into results (as is the case with MS/xbox) and then the complaints shift from disapproval of the original f...
