You mean this guys favorite things are arguably not every single "top rpg lists" favorite things....

Some or all of the games I list are mentioned in virtually every single article that has a top rpg list, especially Baldurs Gate and Planescape. The author obviously has an extremely limited amount of experience when it comes to playing rpg's. He touts how he is a "massive rpg fan," and yet all the games all his list are jrpg's. It's like someon...

JRPG's are like a sub-genre of rpg, so listing only them on a "top rpg list," is not only misleading, but it also excludes a huge portion of the genre. It would have been better if he simply called it "The top 6 jrpg's to play."

Frankly, any top rpg list that doesn't include any of the Baldur's Gate games, is a farce.

Where is BG2 or Icewind Dale or Planescape: Torment or Arcanum?

It isn't so much about all devs using it, as is is about all users having access to all the same features. Say MS introduces a Kinect-less bundle - think of all the features on the console that you can't use, or features others may want to interact with you with, but they can't because you don't have a kinect.

Keeping the kinect and X1 bundled makes for a more "equal" community. There's no guess work of "does bob have a kinect?" Many p...

The key words in your post are "right now." Nobody knows what the future holds, and for the sake of all the Sony fans, I really hope Xbox doesn't gain momentum and/or take the lead, because all their arrogance, snide comments, and over-confident rhetoric will bite them in the ass. Xbox fans will have a field day with them, with a verbal equivalent of being raped in the ass with a radioactive chainsaw.

@FlameHawk

But Xbox does have it...

@H3ADWOUND81

Because you're ignorant and can't stand arguments you can't win?

He makes a valid point, and his post was not "PC elitist." PC's do in fact produce higher quality graphics and performance than even the unreleased next-gen consoles, so mentioning this is simply stating facts. Perhaps inconvenient truths are too much for you?

I see A LOT of Sony fans regurgitating the same "PS4 is still cheaper," rhetoric, as if the price had anything to do with their decision. Like if Xbox was $300, the PS4 fans would just abandon Sony and pick one up...

If PS4 was $600, you guys would still be buying them, as was evident wen PS3 released, so just drop the "cheaper price defense." The core audience is going to buy what they want, regardless of price, again, evident from when PS3 released.

I guess the sort of thing MS pulled is supposed to anger me, and if it doesn't I guess I'm supposed to be categorized as a "blind fanboy sheep," or something similar, but the truth is, not everyone is upset, and furthermore, some of us actually didn't mind or were even looking forward to the original vision of the Xbox One.

I know I'll garner a lot of disagrees, since it's apparent that people on this site have a hard time accepting or even enter...

I can already see players that become "masters of movement" with the pilots that own the battlefield, without ever using mechs. Perhaps even clans forming around this concept.

The comparisons they got to older shooters like Quake and Tribes, is promising. If it truly can emulate the "feel" of the "grandaddy shooters" of the "golden age," I might enjoy this more than I originally thought.

You completely missed the point...

As I showed in the m/kb vs controller part of my post, regardless of facts, people are going to choose what they want, because other than facts there are preferences. Sony fans can post system specs all day long, and although it may be a fact that PS4 has stronger hardware, it does not make it fact that PS4 is the overall better console, and even if it did, there are still going to be people that choose the other alternative.

But they already are convinced it is "the best" same with Sony fans with PS4. Each side see's their respective system as the better alternative. Now based on data sheets and specs on paper, PS4 seems more powerful, and therefore, Sony fans use this to fuel their "PS4 is the best console" argument, but it really proves nothing. A good example is the m/kb vs controller argument.

In the m/kb vs controller argument, m/kb technically outperform a controller...

It wasn't really a unique feature of Battlefront, it was just a different time for shooters altogether. Arena shooters were still prevalent, mechanics like aim down sights and health regen were largely non-existent, having more than 2 weapons in your inventory was common and sprint speed was the default speed.

It was okay for shooters to have a more "arcadey" feel to them, rather than everything needing to emulate a more serious, "real life" feel, lik...

Well, in a f2p game, there is no paying, hence where my argument lies. See, a lot of people were stoked for ESO - until it was announced that it will have a subscription model, then a huge chunk of those interested, immediately lost interest - this is where the separation in community takes place.

F2P games come with no sense of obligation, since there is no investment on behalf of the player, thus players of all types tend to flock to this business model. It can attract anyo...

MS changed policies due the response/reception of the community. Either way you look at it, whether it's a direct response to the disapproval of the community, or simply watching sales numbers, which also shows disapproval from the community, MS's decisions were based around community response, either directly or in-directly.

That being said, it's ironic so many people find this jab by Sony "rightfully deserved," since they took such issue with MS changi...

You make an excellent point, 0ut1awed, and one I share myself. Being a PC gamer for years, I know how good games can look and the plethora of extra features they can have, be it community created or in-game. Perhaps this has made me a bit "desensitized" to all the next-gen hype, since all the new features and graphics and other selling points being mentioned, I have already been experiencing for years on PC.

In recent years, I have been playing console more and I wi...

But aren't Crytek games notorious for being resource hogs and pushing even the highest end systems to the limit? Yes, Cryengine games looks phenomenal (if you can run them,) but at such a high cost to the system, is it worth it?

I was always a fan of the Source Engine, and am looking forward to more details on Valve's new iteration.

guns with no recoil was one of the mechanics many shooters had back in the "golden age" of the genre, along with no health regen, no aim down sights, lower damage scales for weapons (which resulted in actual firefights taking place, rather than popping off a couple shots and resulting in a kill), no exploitable one-hit kill melee weapons, virtually no camping, no care packages or other killstreak awards, and no unlocking weapons/gear based on lvl/xp. It was a much more balanced, ski...
