I think what Gry means by "evidence," is that he 1) want's to see it firsthand, and 2) regardless if he witnesses it, if the significance of the differences are not up to his standards, then he will continue to say it doesn't make a difference.

It's not so much sequels as it is boring sequels. Some games actually have really good sequels, in terms of improvement, added features and overall gameplay. Borderlands comes to mind.

I see a lot of 2 things in here:

1 - people being technical about what constitutes as a third person shooter

2 - comments wondering why Uncharted isn't on the list.

Well, if you want to be technical, Uncharted isn't a "true" TPS - it's a third person action-adventure shooter hybrid. You shoot in the game, but isn't really a shooter, like with RE games or Mass Effect. Tomb Raider would fall in this category also, so i...

It's humorous watching all these console players compare system specs, as if the "superior hardware" console is going to make the competition look like Atari...

System specs on console aren't nearly as important as many here are claiming, due to system parity and their closed-system nature. If there is any worthy differences, it will be with exclusives, which make up a very small portion of overall games released.

On PC, where players are re...

The sad thing in all of this is that there are likely more people interested in this game coming to PS4 just so they can rub in xbox fans face's, than there are people actually interested in plying it on PS4.

technical stats aside, a person can still make a valid claim that one games looks as good or better than another, since aesthetics play a big part in one's opinion.

Graphics aside, one Destiny looks to have in spades compared to KZ and Ghosts, is re-playability and fun.

"I just hope they're careful in how they implement this narrative, it can be quite easy for it to get repetitive and tedious. Brink's folly approach definitely comes to mind. "

Brink's "folly" wasn't really an issue of the formula not working as it was with Publisher issues. Bethesda told them when they had to have the game released, and they had to obey. This resulted in a game that wasn't quite ready but...

"On a side note, I was wondering if people know that Titanfall is only an online-only multiplayer game. I only came to know this a couple of days back and all of my interest died down. Suddenly it feels like the game is only half the game as compared to Killzone Shadowfall which also includes a beautiful looking single player campaign."

- There are many MP only games that offer just as much of an "experience" as shooters tha...

All of my close gaming friends (about a dozen+) are getting X1's, with a handful of them also getting PS4's. Reasons for us going with xbox are:

- Firendslists
- Prefer XBL over PSN
- Achievements/Gamerscore
- the controller

- the games (the majority of the games we all play are multiplats, so seeing as how xbox already has all these other features we enjoy/prefer, it made little sense to get a PS4 to play said games)

Your examples are not accurate to justify your claim. Yes, many devices have touch capabilities, but in many cases it is their main/only way of interacting with it, such as smartphones and tablets. When the touch functionality becomes an optional extension of the device, such as with touchscreen PC's or the DS4 controller, the aspect becomes less of a priority, and can lead to becoming more of a preference or a situational feature.

In addition, many of your examples invol...

Yeah, because the inclusion of a touchpad on a controller, that may be too small for some hands to even utilize, holds an abundance of potential over a device that can perform 3-dimension scans of players in real-time, motion tracking, facial recognition, voice commands and chat, and 1080p live video....

Perhaps the touchpad will offer a lot of game changing innovations, but to simply respond with a insult to competing tech, implying its uselessness and/or that it has no inno...

Did you want all the channels that came with your cable package? Do you watch them all? Probably not, but you still wanted cable, so you paid for them since they were part of the package - same sort of thing applies here. If you wanted xbox bad enough, you would have bought it regardless, just like with cable, so the reasoning of "why should I buy something that I have no desire in owning?" becomes sort of a double standard.

This might amount to something if we were talking about the original Kinect - but we aren't...nor are we talking about 360.

The new Kinect, the Xbox one, and the functionality between the two, are a whole new ball game.

It seems that people keep looking at the Kinect as merely a completely optional peripheral that will bring no wanted functionality or improved experience to the console or their gaming. The Kinect is not the Xbox equivalent to the PS eye...

Some of you seem to actually be treating this like ND are fortune-telling soothsayers...

*IF* this was an indication of ND predicting the PS4 launch, the numbers are likely an estimate, not 2 separate things. 11/15 - 12/1 is probably the window they saw PS4 launching, rather than having 11/15 and 12/1 meaning 2 entirely separate things. of course now any event that happens in or around that time, will have people coming back to this article, rather than understanding concepts...

Battlefront is not a sequel, it's DICE's vision of the game, hence there is no "III" in the title. This was discussed in an article.

That being said, I'm interested in Destiny, Thief, Titanfall, Cyberpunk 2077, ESO, Fortnite, Watch Dogs, The Division, The Crew, Dragon Age 3.

Who cares how they look, which one is more fun to play? That is the more important question. Besides, isn't the BF4 footage PC? It makes the whole basis of comparing the 2 titles based on graphics moot, if they aren't even comparing the same systems.

because it shifts the argument in favor of the PS4, regardless of its relevance or not. Fans will use any argument they can, as long it makes their preferred console look better and/or the opposition look worse.

The same sort of logic applies to all the "superior hardware" rhetoric. 1) how many consumers are basing their decision on which console to buy around hardware specs?...You're not buying a PC. Everything (save for exclusives) will be largely the same, du...
