Pre-orders only tell so much. They are not some "be all end all" statistic for the entirety of the generation.

PS4 is going to have a commanding lead at launch and likely the next few months, but after that it's anyone's game. I think once the X1 launches and people have time with it, they're going to see that that much of naysaying and bad press, was over-hyped or just plain wrong. I can see a pretty substantial change in opinion about the X1 taking pla...

All those trying to differentiate X1 and PS4, by trying to justify how streaming TV is different than an HDMI-input to a cablebox, are merely shifting focus from the end result, to the process of getting there. It's like 2 groups of people running a race - group 1 has to jog uphill, while group 2 can take a straight-through path using cars - they both wind up at the same finish line...

The majority of the criticism about X1 and the TV features, was never focused on *how* ...

And these are the actions of so-called "professionals..." Do you still wonder why the public doesn't take gaming seriously?

If I won the lottery while simultaneously having an orgasm during the favorite part of my favorite movie while skydiving, I still don't think I would've been as vocal as those guys were.

But the "main" reason, isn't always a specific persons reason. I wouldn't say it's "the" main reason, I'd say it's "a" main reason.

Personally, exclusives do nothing for me, on either console. I'm not salivating with a hard-on anticipating the next Halo or Killzone or Uncharted. Granted, I play them (sometimes), but they don't get any extra attention in comparison to multiplats that can be played on either console - t...

And I guess this is where we can agree to disagree, because I (and others) didn't have a problem with their initial policies. Their original plan actually set the X1 apart from the competition. Now they are taking Sony's route, and essentially releasing a glorified last-gen console. I didn't want "xbox 360 v2.0," I wanted something new and different. That being said, I still don't see what this has to do with trust, and the backpedaling doesn't prove your point. ...

The HDMI input on the xbox one can be used with other devices than just a TV. For example, it was recently revealed that you can plug your 360 into it and play 360 games on your X1. It will be interesting to see what other devices can be used with the port and if any clever setups come out of it. PC's and home theater equipment will likely work as well.

The HDMI input is in fact a feature that PS4 does not have, regardless if you're interested in it or not. The custo...

I see the trust thing a lot, and honestly, and this is being dead honest and not an attempt to troll, I can't see where they would give the indication that they can't be trusted.

I hear constant outcries about the recent changes in policy by MS exhibits "un-trustworthiness" on their end, with some going far enough to call them flat out liars, but I'm not sure "untrustworthy" is the proper term. Yes, MS has said a lot of things, just to change t...

Throughout this whole ordeal, I have noticed that MS really is in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. It seems it doesn't matter if they do something that pisses people off, or do something to rectify the situation, it always ends with people being pissed off at them, and I don't even want to hear any "they deserve it!" BS. They didn't kill your dog or kick your pregnant wife in the stomach - they make hardware and software - consumer goods...

It's less about being good with one or the other, and more about the handicap that using a controller on PC brings. Even if you are a controller master, you are still likely to be at a disadvantage vs m/kb players, and not even super good ones. I guess this being a co-op game, you don't have to worry about encountering this, but there still runs the chance that you could be a detriment to your team.

Even if the next-gen consoles could max out BF4 graphically, it wouldn't be able to run it at 60fps. It would be a case of either/or, but not both.

I'll take Med/High settings at 60fps, over ultra at 30fps any day.

@The_Infected
Scared that people won't see BF4 running at its full potential. Which is likely why they opted for PC.

BF4 is going to look great on both next-gen consoles, but when you're trying to showoff a product, you want it to look it's very best, and consoles cannot deliver that. There's also the idea that DICE wants to show that they aren't slacking on the PC version. BF did start out as a PC only game, so I see it only fair that it get the l...

Not everyone has a problem with their policies... Besides, it seems a good portion of those who do, were never gonna buy one anyway.

And trashing something you're displeased with doesn't tend to work as well as constructively voicing your concerns, as far as getting results is concerned.

If you are an mmo gamer, why aren't you playing on PC? You can't navigate the Web without tripping over one.

For real though, if you are serious about playing mmo's, you should be playing on PC. Choosing a console for mmo's is like choosing a PC for sports and fighting games.

Since when did gamers get so conscienceless when debating which game console manufacture is better? Everyone seems so quick to resort to arguments against MS when it comes to ethics, it makes me wonder how many are actually serious, and how many are just using it to strengthen to their viewpoint.

I'd imagine such noble, mature values would seep into other aspects of these people's personalities, but for many, I simply don't see it. I see anger, hatred, and even i...

Agreed. The X1 was initially something bold and different, and we all know how people respond to things that are different...

MS spoke, and the community responded, and their response just tells me that they have no desire for anything other than a generic, standard game console, that can make their games look prettier and run smoother than the previous iteration. They essentially just want the "Madden" of game consoles.

What puzzles me is how so ma...

I don't think so. I would rather a small player base where everyone has access to the same functionality, than a larger, fractured community. By keeping the Kinect bundled, it lets both players and devs know that regardless if they use it or not, every player has a Kinect, so on the developer end, adding Kinect functionality to games is more encouraged, while on the user end, players can feel free to engage in Kinect-required activities with each other, (skype, pictures, in-game actions, e...

"It's not really subjective. The Xbox One got massive boost in Pre-orders after they announced they were getting rid of DRM. It was obvious that announcement was the better choice and will make MS more money in the long run. You may have like the original plans better but you were part of the minority."

- You are confusing "popular" with "better." In either regard, they are both subjective. When scientists and ...
