"there comes a point when if the overwhelming majority is "against" a certain product...its probably for a reason and not simply bias... "
Although you have a point, you're actually missing the point.
I won't deny that a lot of people are pissed off at MS, and have chose not to support them this gen. I also won't deny that PS4 is looking to be insanely popular, at least initially, among gamers. But t...

"This. If it is going to be dumbed down I'll probably pass on it. Conquering a learning curve is part of the satisfaction of playing an FPS for me."
You seem to not have an understanding of how gun mechanics and gameplay incorporates into skill ceilings.
When a game features a low amount of shots required to kill, it shifts the focus in the game to positioning, not aiming and/or movement, since the need to be consistently...
Of course shit gets talked everywhere - that wasn't my point. My point is that when it comes to the PS4 camp, whether it be low blows, gloating, or flat out trolling, it tends to come droves, whereas with other facets, not so much.
It's not the the fact that shit is talked everywhere, it's the amount of shit being talked and the lengths to which certain people/groups go to to get their point(s) across.
And you're right, I have been here longe...
It took you till Skyrim to realize this?...
Every game they release on PC is met with a community made, unofficial patch pack, that fixes literally thousands of bugs.
It's humorous seeing so many people already claiming victory for the PS4 based off pre-order numbers, which only account for launch sales... It's like a marathon runner convinced he's the winner because he has the lead at the first turn...
When speaking about the Kinect, the interviewer seems really adamant about connecting motion controls to games, as if that's the only thing the Kinect can do. I think this mindset is the mindset of many people - that having a Kinect means flapping your arms in front of your TV, which gives them a less then favorable outlook of what the Kinect offers.
I am looking forward to using the new Kinect, and none of it has to do with motion controls.

"who on earth would choose 15 bucks monthly subscription for this game over playing all those other games online for way cheaper."
People who want to play this game and not any of those other games...
The same sort of mindset applies to console games released on PC, where the PC title needed to be "compromised" due to system parity. yes, in some cases the PC version will utilize features exclusive to them, like the ability to pan out in Dragon's Age, but there are a number of cases where the PC version of a game had to take a hit due to the same game also releasing on console. This is one of the key gripes PC gamers have with consoles.
Like you said, I am aga...
@mewhy32
"The fact that the PS4 is the most powerful gaming console ever conceived with the best exclusives in the industry is all that matters to true hardcore gamers."
- Really? So "true" "hardcore" gamers are 1) only playing on console, and 2) are using system specs and hardware capabilities as deciding factors as to which console to buy?... funny, because I always thought people bought console based off which games/services t...
It's the competitive element that I don't care for in these types of games. Regardless how much it may "simulate" a PVE environment, I know that I am playing PVP, and thus, the atmosphere of simply playing against others is unappealing. I have and will always see RPG's/MMO's as games you play with others, not against.
As I've gotten older, I've found competitive gaming to be less and less appealing compared to co-op. I just don't have ti...
That still doesn't justify the mass amount of paranoia and unruly bias displayed on this site towards MS.
Contrary to the mindset on this site, doing "180's" isn't a sign of untrustworthiness - it's a sign of indecisiveness and/or lack of conviction.
I'm not implying to simply believe whatever MS says, but immediately thinking they are lying is just as bad as immediately thinking they are telling the truth.
I never really show any interest in the PVP aspect of MMO's. I just don't see them as a genre that necessitates a PVP component, and would rather play as a party and quest - essentially like playing it as virtually every RPG you ever played growing up, just with a social/co-op aspect. I'll save competitive MP for shooters.
Which is one of MS's strengths - money. They have the "resources" to do things like this. Sony...not so much.
Does anyone else get the vibe on this site that if news is released from Sony, it's generally accepted, but if news is released concerning MS, people demand everything from DNA analysis to dental records in order to determine its authenticity.
No, it doesn't...
Not having your facts straight and completely making something up, are not the same thing. Not sure why you're having such a hard time comprehending this...
Not sure if Microsoft or Mitt Romney joke...
I don't really care when it launches. All I know is that I won't have to stand in line or even go to a store to pick mine up. I have my pre-order with Amazon, and with release day delivery, it will arrive at my house on launch day.
The problem with simply sourcing numbers and claiming "victory" is that there is a lot of stuff going on in the background that can skew the message. Yes, on paper, PS4 is sporting bigger numbers, but how does everything come together? What processes are taking place? Which console is able to better utilize the capabilities of the hardware? What "tricks" will each console offer?
It seems to be that Sony has taken more of a traditional "off the shelf&...
If the information does turn out to be false, it is likely a case of scenario C: misinformation.
Why do you and others seem to imply that if the news is false, that it must have been completely fabricated from nothing? You present these "which is more believable scenarios," and present the idea you side with as a rational possibility, and exaggerate the other one to the point of ridiculousness...
I don't think many are implying that the news wa...

How low are you expecting this "lowest denominator" to be? Do you expect to see any significant differences? Furthermore, with more and more news on the details of MS's "custom everything" console, I'm not sure which console will actua...
