Many of you obviously do not understand the difference between "graphics" and "aesthetics"

- EA took a more stylized approach to the models in Live, which is an aesthetic choice, whereas 2K went for a more realistic approach, which is more graphics oriented.

LIVE deliberately looks like a video game, while...

Regardless of your personal opinions towards EA, they do publish a lot of very popular and high selling titles.

Battlefield
Mass Effect
EA Sports
Need for Speed
Titanfall
The Sims
Crysis
Dead Space
etc...

They might not be a very ethical company, but when it comes to games, they have a good track record.

I play COD solely for the SP, as do many of my friends...

I heard Ghosts has bot matches and cool coop modes, so I might play those.

BF however, is all about MP - it was conceived as MP only, whereas COD has always had a SP element.

This entire argument is based around semantics and or interpretation.

When rela82me claimed he wanted "parity" among the game, he wasn't implying that he wants both versions to look the same, even at the cost of "dumbing down" one version to be equal with the other. He was implying that he wanted the best version capable of each system, regardless if the end results weren't equal.

He was using "parity" to describe the e...

The parity game has been negatively affecting PC games for years, yet that doesn't affect console players so no one seems to care...

Yes, PC games are capable of high visual settings, but the parity issue comes from things like content or UI's. Like blatant console friendly UI's, kept in place to make the version look the same or content being cut from games, because the console version wouldn't have been able to support it all. Parity has more to do than just...

lol, I like how "the best" version, simply comes down to better visuals, or in the case, "potentially" better....classic.

So regardless which console you overall like more, or which controller, or which online service, or where your friends are, PS4 has the better graphics capability, so it's the best. period...For people who think this way, I really hope Destiny doesn't come to PC, because then you won't even have that argument to stand on.

The level of immersion you are talking about, never really exists for me. Sure, some games do a better job of as you say, "transporting me to another world," but I am always aware that I am playing a game, same with movies. I am always aware that it's just a movie, which is why a never usually get to emotionally involved.

Actually, both parts of your statement come down to opinion. You can't use a phrase like "worst I think you mean "worse") system," without listing specifics, and then claim it as fact.

The same can be said for people who buy a console vs a PC... if you chose to buy a console, be happy with what you get, even if this means games running at less than 1080p/60fps, or games having less c0ntent or features.

"Designing a mmo type fps for PC would be a disaster having all these horrible PCs in the mix lagging up the game and the multiplayer. "

- Do you even play PC games?...

What you mention is already being done - Planetside and Firefall are 2 big examples.

As for the discussion on parity, players talk about wanting to utilize the power of each console to the fullest and do without parity, which more often th...

Thief 2 is one of my favorite games, and even now, is among one of the best stealth games. it was about the need to actually be sneaky, and not rely on some arbitrary "stealth skill" that players could max out and eventually walk in front of people in the middle of the day and not be seen...

Regardless if it's Sony or MS, exclusives are never a deciding factor for me on which console to buy, since the majority of the games my friends and I both play and look forward to, are multiplat. Sure, I play exclusive games, but they are never a reason to buy a console. Any console game that I have put a lot of time into, has been multiplat (Borderlands, BF, TES, etc.) The only platform where I continually go back to play exclusives, is PC.

It is not the case of a loose HDMI cable. As the uploader states in the comments:

"...HDMI is either on or off it doesn't have the ability to be in between so a poorly connected HDMI cord wouldn't allow an image to show at all."

In other words, HDMI is either picture or no picture - no flickering.

When and if 1080p/60fps becomes more or less the standard on next-gen, it will be at least in part, to sacrifices being made - content, visuals, gameplay, etc. and they likely will never even tell us things were ever cut out.

These are consoles, not high end PC's. You can't have your cake and eat it too. If you consistently want the best in terms resolution and framerate, it is going to come at a price.

Nice attempt to downplay...

Yes, games do crash, but not like 5 times in one play session. In the time I've played BF4, it has crashed more times than the time I've owned BF3. I've had it crash 3 times within 30 mins.

Technically, MS isn't really advertising the cloud as a way to improve graphics - that was essentially made up or taken out of context by the community. What MS has been saying is that they are looking to improve performance via the cloud. "Performance" does not necessarily relate to improving graphics or even processing power. Increased functionality is a key aspect the cloud can tap into, and MS has explained this.

The instances where MS is claiming the cloud...

"on" is also too much work. I would rather just grunt, or even better, just think about what I want it to do, but then again, thinking hurts my brain... I just need the console to know everything I ever want it to do, with no effort on my part...

@Muerte2494

"Why would someone buy a system that a $100 with most of their features locked behind a paywall?"

- Because most players, at least in the core audience, are going to have LIVE anyway, so essentially it's a non-issue.

That being said, if you think they downplayed the paywall aspect of XBL, then it would be equally fair to exclaim that they downplayed PS+ by not mentioning that a lot of the free games you have access t...
