@P Bomb

“The paywalls aren't the same. Free to play psn games like dcuo still work without plus and still will on ps4.”

- My point in bringing them up was not to try and say they are the same, only that they exist on each platform. Many from the Sony camp are quick to address the paywall on XBL, but then tip-toe past the fact that Playstation now has paywalls as well, not only to play online, but to access arguably the best feature of PS+ - the free games...

Let's focus on a reply to that comment, by "AlexanderTheGreat":

"@SUKMYNUTSAC I thought I would clear up a few things for you. First, PS Plus is $17.99 for 3 Months ($7 cheaper than XBLive) and $49.99 for 1 year ($10 cheaper than XBLive)."

- he starts off well.

"While it is true that if you lose your PS Plus subscription, you no longer have access to play the games, but once you renew you have full access to the g...

The aspect that everybody seems to be missing here, is context.

Everyone seems to be assuming that PS4 is selling out due to simply being that much more popular/in demand than the X1. Although I don't doubt that PS4 is the more popular choice (at least now) I don't believe the issue is as cut and dry as that.

First off, just speaking in terms of demand, many among the gaming community see the PS4 being sold out as some sort of "proof" that i...

It's kind of like the difference between choosing your favorite of something, and choosing what you think is the best. An example I use are albums.

My favorite Metallica album "And Justice For All." I like the sound (which is a bit more proggy) and it features my favorite song. However, I think their best album is "Master of Puppets." Virtually every song on the album was a hit, and is regarded as one of the most influential thrash albums of all time. ...

lol, silly Sony fans...

anyone bringing up COD as some sort of "red flag" against the capabilities of the X1, only need to look at Ryse to completely destroy their argument. Seeing how the X1 can run a game as detailed and hardware intensive as Ryse, just shows that the final result of COD, had more to so with development, not the system. MS may have played a part in this by sending out dev kits late, but the problem(s) doesn't lie with the capabilities of the s...

Exclusives mean little to me, regardless of platform. The vast majority of games my friends and I play, have always been multiplat. Yes, I have played or even looked forward to exclusive games, but it had nothing to do with their exclusivity. If a game is good, it's good, it being exclusive is more of a coincidence.

That being said, in the war against which platform has better exclusives, I will always chose PC. Not only do they have far more exclusives than either consol...

Typically, MP games have much higher replayability, due it not just being a start and a finish, like single player. Instead, everything is happening in real time, and no 2 games are the same. Aside from how much content is packed into the MP, this aspect alone can warrant a $60 price tag. As for the concern of not having enough players among the community to sustain the game, I don't think I've ever witnessed this. The game would need to be pretty bad for this to happen, considering t...

Comparing it to a past game game in a franchise, is hardly convincing that the game is lacking content, especially considering that Forza 4 was a released towards the end of the last-gen cycle, and required much less powerful hardware to run.

Companies kind of shoot themselves in the foot when they do things like this, because the community (wrongly) expects every future iteration in the franchise to match previous levels of content, to the point that they tend to ignore ever...

It's called quality over quantity...If you don't like it, don't play it, but to spout rhetoric like "it's only half a game..." Get over yourself, and stop being so angry.

I love when members of the community take it upon themselves to use some arbitrary scale to determine whether or not a game is "complete" or up to their standards or not based on the amount of content it contains. No actual research or knowledge...

@GameSpawn

But the thing is, if you build a PC for gaming, it is able to tackle many tasks well. I built a my rig for gaming, but I don't solely game on it, as is the case with most PC gamers. I use Photoshop, word processing, audio and video editing, etc., so you have a case where a C built for gaming can still achieve so much more, but a console is solely designed around gaming and other forms of entertainment, and even then, it doesn't achieve the best results. Con...

@frosty

Yes, there should be a degree of challenge in games like this, but it should be built into the gameplay. When comparing m/kb vs controller, often times much of the challenge of console games comes from simply needing to use an inferior control method, which has little to do with the difficulty of the game itself. You say being able to pull off a 10 weakens the game. Others may argue that needing to take so much tedious time to aim and fire a tank turret in a game desi...

Yeah, GF is a great system. I've been with them for around 4 yrs. and I can't see why you wouldn't use this service, especially with all the crap being pushed out with a $60 price tag. I can just rent them, and send them back, and if I like a game I rent, I can keep it for $45, so I never pay retail for anything, even on new releases, which tends to be the only games I rent.

I'd say around 90% of the games I play on console, are rented.

Nice try, but "best" is an opinion-based word, and claiming anything/anybody is the "best there is," without going into specifics and/or without actually offering evidence for your claim, is nothing more than opinion or conjecture. "Nobody can match what they do." Not only is this a vague statement, it is also an opinion.

As far as developers go - overall talent, quality of games, positive reception from the community, etc. I think Valve is the b...

@mikeslemonade

I never once stated that PS+ games were old. The statements I made to older games, were in reference to Game with Gold. And there is nothing opinionated about the free games model on PS+. Without a paid subscription, you cannot play them - this is fact.

As for the services themselves, (XBL vs PSN) XBL is overall the better service gaming. PS+ is an extension of the service. Without it, PSN doesn't really have a leg to stand on in comparison...
