I'm just waiting for Pillars of Eternity. Been waiting for since before it got funded.
But gamers are the ones making a big deal out of it, as is evident by this article, and the many before this...
I really don't care who made it a big deal "in the first place." Do gamers get a mulligan now?
They absolutely are using it as far as sales go - people are using them as an example to show how well or not the consoles are selling at a particular store.
You are speaking about this particular post, I am speaking in terms of overall. Overall, what I describe is what is happening among the community.
Morbius' line : "They had 20 Xbox One's on the floor and one EMPTY PS4 box."
promted my response.
My Best Buy has no X1's or PS4's, just accessories. The "personal experience" story, really doesn't do much in "proving" which console is selling more.
I've heard numerous accounts from Gametop employees, (not just from my local shop) that one of the reasons they tend to have more X1's available, is because they get more shipments from MS, so say Monday you walk in and there's 10 X1's available, then they all sell on Tues. and W...
I'm more interested in why do gamers put so much interest into which console is selling more? This is news for investors and shareholders - for businessmen. Other than bragging rights (which doesn't even classify as an actual "benefit")I cannot see any benefit that a gamer would gain from this info, unless they are in fact involved in the business side of the industry.
Perhaps one concern could be that if a console is selling poorly, the company might pull t...
You're missing the point..
"An 80's action movie" is not necessarily the same as a "movie from the 80's with action in it." However, sci-fi films can fall into this category. Predator is an 80's action movie. Aliens could be considered one as well, but Terminator I wouldn't classify it.
80's action movies tend to have a male protagonist who is either built or in shape. They tend to have a lot of gun-play and action...
A lot of things can be made "easily" such as that, but I'm not interested in making anything - I want to buy a proper one. You really don't think I saw that when I typed "xbox one adapter" in search?
Was really hoping to hear more details on the Xbox One adapter... I already have a headset (Sennheiser) and a 2013 Mixamp, so it's really the only thing I'm interested in.
Driveclub could likely "waste" this game, due to the gameplay being more "mainstream." Project CARS is going for extreme simulation, while Driveclub will be more like Forza or GT.
And you're likely right that this game will be forgotten hen GT turns up, because it could be like a decade from now...
@DOOMZ
The atmosphere around here tends to be that since MS did something so unforgivably horrible in many gamer's eyes, that Sony kind of gets a handicap. It isn't a case of "Sony good, MS bad," it's more like "Sony isn't great, but MS is way worse" - it's the lesser of 2 evils. Unfortunately, MS's actions were so bad, that it apparently desensitized the community, so any actions not at "MS levels" is brushed off as a non...
In other words, it looks more like a video game, and there's nothing wrong with that. You seem to be talking more about aesthetics than graphics.
That being said, there is merit to what paperskies is saying. It's like when people refuse to watch black and white or dated movies because they "look old." They literally cannot enjoy the movie(s) based on this factor. Although we are hardly comparing black and white movies to HD film here, the same mindset applie...
"I don't think you do understand context, because his comment and my reply was strictly about FUN, then you proceed to spout 5 paragraphs of off topic nonsense and assumptions about PS fanboy mindsets lol."
- Which is exactly what the debate was about - your comment about how better looking games don't equate to funner games, and my argument about how the Sony community implied that very thing. You are trying to argue specifics, while using
...
You're arguing semantics... Yes, there are those who specifically point out how one will look better than another, but the overall mindset was that one game will *BE* a better game to play due to higher resolution and/or framerate.
I understand context and "reading between the lines." A person can look at a number of comments form the PS4 camp on this issue, and clearly see that are implying that game overall is going to be a better game (including fun) based o...
From the article:
"If you inspect it closely, you’ll see that most soldiers actually bleed, what looks like ketchup, through their shirts more than their intact skin. In the first one, it’s obviously all coming from his collar, not anywhere near the actual knife stab. Maybe we’re nitpicking."
- "Maybe" you're nitpicking...nah, you're being completely rational...
Something tells me the author either isn't into 8...
"Haha, good for you man! The higher the number the more fun a game is, i had no idea about that."
- Apparently a good number of PS4 fans have the same mindset, going by all the "PS4 is more powerful" talk, and how apparently it results in multiplats someone being better games to plays, through having slightly better visuals...
As for racing games, I just want a new Burnout...
Project Cars is being touted as the ultimate driving sim, even featuring pit stops and pit-to-car radio functions. It is aimed for the "hardcore" simulator enthusiast, however will also feature aids players can use to have the game feel less intense, like GT or Forza.
Is the handling good? Well, it will likely be the most true to life handling you've ever encountered in a racing game to date. There are no traces of "floaty" handling or input lag, and i...
The console just launched, and it hasn't even received any real updates yet. Compare the UI for the 360 at launch to what it is now...
Saying PC has "the best" exclusives, is subjective, however, saying PC has "the most" exclusives, is fact. They also have the most indie titles.
"Sony is using cloud to stream live tv and games, even introducing a streaming game rental service. Thats called innovation and simple truth."

@DARK WITNESS
"When you can show us the "power of the cloud" doing something truly amazing, then the cloud jokes will stop."
- same goes for the "50% more powerful" claims from the Sony crowd. The difference being that the MS community typically doesn't continually bring it up and joke about it - they acknowledge that no examples have been shown to illustrate the extent of this claim, and move on.
Up till now...
