LOL, I would have expected that at least bigger gaming mags like gameinformer would know their way around consoles!
Set your Xbox as home console in your settings and you actually can play digital games offline.
I am almost all digital on Xbox and never had any issues apart from 3 days without interent connection due to problems of my ISP. During that time I could play all the offline content without any issues!
IMO Xbox is the best platform and I really enjoy gaming on it. The future prospect with play anywhere, Xbox games pass and unified Win10 environment is the right direction and future proofing the Xbox platform.
More 1st party studios would be nice and I expect some reveals at E3, but overall I am really satisfied with Xbox since I am huge fan of its exclusives (i.E.: Halo, Forza, Quantum Break, Ryse, Recore, Titanfall 1, Sunset Overdrive, Max: Curse of the Brotherhood...).

Turn10/Playground are one of the best devs in gaming. They innovate the racing genre and deliver high quality games.
Though I have to say I am more a huge fan of the sim racing motorsport series and not so much of the arcadey Horizon.
If you read the original interview ( http://www.gamesindustry.bi... especially th...
I hoped a long time for a confirmation of the indoctrination theory...That would have made the devs masterminds!
They simply should have made an expansion/DLC where you can end the story right after the Sheppard under rubbel teaser at the end if you chose to destroy the reapers. It would have made sense for him to have been manipulated by the reapers and actually be still on earth at the doorstep of the crucible and you get the chance to go on if you chose to escape the indoctrinatio...
According to Ken lobb I would think there won't be any generations anymore:
"What's new is we've figured out how to write software in such a way that it can be better, but still be forward and backward compatible," Lobb explained. "The Xbox One S is a good version of this. It's better than the One. It's, you know, less than 10 percent better, but it's better, and that kind of thing was sort of impossible when you go back to the Super N...
LOL, these articles are so pointless. You basically will get every game below its release price these days. On download-key stores or stores from other countries where currency exchange benefits the consumer.
How hard people try to spin the Xbox has no quality games and low game sales narrative these days. That is all bogus.
Xbox has many great games and the attach rate is good.
I have been thinking of that too, but I don't see myself carving out those $1500 if I get the same games on a $500 console...
Either way MS does not care where you buy their games as long as you buy them. And the beauty with play anywhere is that you can even take your games with you if you decide to buy a MS console later on.
UWP makes it possible for devs to port easy and it opens a new market for their prior PC exclusives with low effort. And since PC has some interesting exclusives it is a nice way for console only gamers to get some good games from PC to Xbox without a big hassle.
I am sure we will see some new IPs at E3, but we have to keep in mind that MS will bring many 1st party games to their XBL platform from now on, which enables customers to play them on PC or Xbox, depending on which hardware...
I have not as much hours into that game as you, but if I add PC and XB1 time I reach something above 1k hours. Till 1.5 years ago I would have agreed with your comment.
But I played Diablo back in July again and with all their patches and the new end-game content the drop rates have improved drastically. I managed to perfect my build within 1 week of playing. You should really give it another try as the game became insanely rewarding.
If they drop the Necromancer add-on I w...
This thread is pure gold! Look at almost all of you so called gamers! It is really pathetic to what humans can come down to.
Forza is a great game series, the arcade and sim games. It is great to see the brand growing. Fora Motorsport always has been more of a niche game for sim fans but Horizon made it to the casual crowd. The community is big, and the tuning and livery/paint sharing is awesome among it! I really like all you gamers out there who are engaged in that big Fo...
lol, how can people be so paranoid like you. Loose that tin foil hat of yours!
Phil Spencer is an active member on twitter and engages in many community questions/convos. It is intended for Xbox gamers who follow him. It is not his fault if his small tweets get made into huge articles on gamingbolt and the like. It is more a distraction of gaming media if at all dude.
What is wrong about Xbox execs beeing reachable by their community? What is wrong of the...
26+ million Xbox Ones out there say otherwise. With the majority of games being 3rd party and also having many exclusives (not as much as PS but enough AAA) I think Xbox One is hardly irrelevant.
6TF GPU, 320 GB/s RAM, 8 core CPU -> What console has more power?
Please stop the no games on Xbox thing! There may be more exclusives on PS but there are still many exclusives on Xbox and lots of 3rd party games.
The numbers pretty much show how healthy the Xbox division operates. I think we can quit all those doom articles and comments. Clearly Sony and MS operate healthy in their gaming divisions which is great for us gamers. Sony is stronger but MS also comes out good.
HW sales decline as the market saturates and software revenue grows by a whopping 21%. Since HW revenue is in reality a non to small profit income, software and XBL actually generates profit. This means even though Gaming re...
That's why they have backward and forward compatible games thanks to X86 PC architecture. The consumer decides whether he wants to upgrade or not, depending on which graphic fidelity he likes to play.
Hardware sales generate loss or maybe come out even most of the time. Hence the X86 architecture with slightly altered/ semi custom of-the-shelf parts from AMD.
-> low R&D costs
-> more frequent hardware updates that don't consume much R&D money ...
Scorpio will be a big leap compared to Xbox One and it will have lots of new tech. My guess is Vega GPU and Ryzen-like CPU. I don't know if this eurogamer/DF document is outdated or not, or accurate or not. All I need to know is:
Phil Spencer yesterday after the doc emerged on Twitter:
https://twitter.com/XboxP3/...
" @XboxP3 will Scorpio Still be able to do Na...
He explains why: X86 architecture.
Basically MS can get a full blown next gen console out there without leaving the Xbox One crowd behind because all games are forward-/backward- compatible. You only choose which graphics quality setup you want to game with and what budget you would like to invest.
This white paper is from right after E3. Much could have been changed since then. I think Scorpio will have a Vega GPU and the new mobile Zen-based CPU on a custom APU-like SOC. Otherwise MS could have easily released a new console last year since Polaris and improved Jaguar have been available for reasonable pricing already.
These are all but speculation, including the eurogamer article. We will have to wait and see.
I have a Kinect and I still use it. But since there is no more game support, I only use it if I play the launch games or Kinect Sports Rivals every now and then.
The main big feature I use is voice commands though. I don't necessarily need the camera if there is no support in games for it, but I would hope for a build in microphone to use voice commands and Cortana.
I am not hating PS4! I repeat I AM NOT HATING PS4! I actually said that it is a great platform aswell!
I simply do not care for it since it has no appeal to me. That is personal preference which happens if you are offered a choice ;)
Having the opportunity to buy some of the games on Steam does not change the fact that I prefer to own them on the Win10 platform where I can play it on Xbox or PC (not true for the older titles but that is what play anywhere is for).
