I am a huge Forza Motorsport fan but cudos to Polyphony, GT looks stunning, at least these gifs suggest it.
What I don't understand is the bitching and fanboy BS going on in these comments! Forza is an Xbox exclusive and GT a Playstation exclusive. Both are awesome games and people should play them. Just enjoy the gaming people!
@Princess_Pilfer
Sorry man, but none of your arguments invalidate my concerns.
Of course there are console updates and I see that as an evolution of console gaming since it constantly improves the platform. But there is a difference between hooking in your box and just approve an update and with having to setup a PC.
Also updates of games and system updates after initial setup run automatically in the background in instant on mode.
I cer...
Oh, yes, I forgot about that. Good point!
Solid numbers, Xbox is doing great. PS4 overexceeds it obviously but Xbox is doing great.
@myself lol since edit is not possible anymore
Gears 4 has its nomination for 2016 obviously and KI2 for 2015
Seems like Porsche re-realised the advertising impact of video games :)
Great to see them back in several racing games :)
But on the other hand many believe a Microsoft console is worth owning. For its exclusives and its features/platform.
Scorpio is the device you may want if you want to play the best console version of multiplats and if you are a fan of Xbox exclusives and XBL. Not everyone has or wants a PC and not everyone has or wants a Playstation. There are enough reasons, if you go single platform, to own Xbox over Playstation. It's great to have the choice on the market to choose ...
But how does that get me around wanting to use a plug and play device, not having to maintain my software like drivers up-to-date, not wanting to use mouse and keyboard, having a silent device in my living room, make it purpose oriented for games and music/movie playback?
A console costs you $300 - 500 and you have the ease of use and easy living room fit. A PC with silent components costs much more (my latest design with RX 480 and Ryzen sits around $1.2K and above) and do...
I'll get it day one, since the Xbox platform delivers best what I want in a console.
@IGiveHugs2NakedWomen
Xbox games are way better than above average. Most games have an above 80 metacritic and won awards or have been nominated for game awards:
Metacritic and GAMEAWARDS:
FH3 - 91 (BEST SPORTS/RACING GAME 2016)
Ori - 88 (BEST ART DIRECTION 2015, nominee for BEST INDEPENDENT GAME and BEST SCORE/SOUNDTRACK and BEST ACTION/ADVENTURE GAME 2015)
Forza Motorsport 6 - 86 (nominee BEST SPO...
Game by game basis I guess. Forza has even in ultra settings and in some areas misused quality settings and still has some head room left:
"Clearly, there's still a large amount of GPU overhead left over on Scorpio, so where can the engine be taken from there? Turn 10 is still working on this, but the quality settings from Forza Motorsport 6 Apex on PC can be fully invoked on Scorpio. Turn 10 literally ramped up everything to ultra and it just worked, with the game...
@Strange
No, but I am no native speaker ;) But directly falling to personal attacks tells me alot about your personality!
I think he said that they cancelled it because the sales price point for their performance goal was to high for the console gamer target group with the silicon available in 2016:
"So we designed a console for 2016, and a console for 2017. We were kind of working on both plans simultaneously. And at some point, we got to -- let's just call it greenlight. For what we would do in 2016, and we sat around a table not too dissimlar from this and said, I think we need to ...
Maybe try this, befor making false claims:
"That exists already. Settings > Display & Sound > Volume > Party Chat Output."

there you can change the chat output.
Edit:
I need to correct myself since the option is f...
What an odd place to discuss this. You can make yourself heard via xbox.uservoice.com
You should try and read the Q&A session for what it is before making any stupid remarks:
An honest view through the eyes of the head of Xbox during the development of the Scorpio. He also shares his vision of how he sees the development of the console in general and where he wants to go with the Xbox hardware and software platform.
A very interesting interview and a nice job from Gamasutra IMO!
Read the original article! Diverse in the sence of different approaches of how to render their engines. This leads to a more diverse input of possible hardware bottlenecks of the console. They also invited some 3rd party devs to test their engines. Scorpio is highly optimized for different engine scenarios.
Some comments from MS/Xbox officials to free you of your worries are below.
Take home message: The scalability of the software, similar to PC games, allows easy graphics presets between both consoles and in the end won't leave Xbox One behind.
Mike Ybarra:
Xbox Platform chief Mike Ybarra on UWP, Windows 10, Scorpio and more
"Mike: As we announced at E3, Scorpio will be 100% compatible with all Xbox One titles and there will be no Scorpio...
Tried PC1 with games with gold... I uninstalled it after 2 races. The games performance on Xbox is really bad when you come from stable 60 FPS from Forza. Also the graphics are worse. But that has not been the kicker, the kicker was the bad controls with a gamepad. This game is clearly made for the hardcore crowd that uses a wheel.
I think this game shines on a PC with a wheel setup.
The devs have to collect some more console experience before PC can compete with the likes ...
@ Ju:
According to the digital foundry interview, it actually is build into the hardware on Xbox One(S). Scorpio has extended capabilities. The 50% rendering overhead is an estimate from shipped games on Xbox One with "real" DX12 engines (I would guess FH3, FM6 and Gears4). With Scorpio it could be even more, but as they say in the interview, in the end the amount of benefit depends on whether or not the engine uses DX12.
"We essentially m...
