Within the years as a gamer I had many different controllers in my hands and I must say I like the X1 controller the most. I really like the triggers with the rumblemotors which are especially great with Forza 5. You can feel how much acceleration or breaking force you need to apply to prevent wheels from spinning or blocking. Or you can feel which side of the car has more or less traction in turns or when you get off the track. Great innovation!
I also like the comfortable feel and g...
Great... Instead of designing a new next gen engine and giving FIFA the "NBA2K treatment" they implemented women national teams with the same old engine :(
Just to be clear, I have nothing against women football but I would not have seen this on a top priority list...
I guess it is another year I skip FIFA (since PES isn't a good alternative either) and waiting/hoping for the best for the reveal next year...
They can't as it is on a game to game basis. That by the way MS already said.
For Project Cars the devs will extract a 30-40% boost on X1, for another game it might be nothing to 10% and for new games designed around DX12 it might be more than 40%. DX12 related improvments stand and fall with the dev-teams choices on how they built their engine.
That is why MS can't come out with a specific number.
I sign this from the articles comment section:
"This article is criticism on a high level about a well designed game. Some things are nitpicky and others are appropriate:
1) Axii
According to the books the axii sign is more a sign for influencing emotions like implanting fear or rage or calming people/animals/monsters down. It is not a mind trick to implant ideas. Thus it is correct that you can't wander around and do it Jedi-style. ...
Couldn't agree more :)
If you learned the timings and tactics and reached a certain threshold of acquired potions/plans the combat really flows.
The combat really resembles the decriptions in the books and that enhances the immersion into this already very immersive world.
The combat system is really good. You need to get the hang on it and then it is a neat flow of signs, parry, counter, dodge, roll and attacks. The combat is demanding and fun. I play it on Blood & Broken Bones and preparation is key to win. Use potions! Use tactics according to your opponents! Learn your timings!
Gamewise: Yes
It will come down to a deal as we've seen with DR3 and Ryse. Microsoft exclusivity (first Xbox then later PC) for this game but not for the IP. The next TR might be a true multiplatformer again.
I installed the game on an external SSD drive on my Xbox One and the loading is very quick. It is somewhere in the range between instantaneous to 10 sec, depending on where I die. But I am nowhere near a minute. Maybe it is a problem with internal drive installations on the consoles?
I agree. You don't, but it helps recognicing all the easter-eggs and the awesome conversion of the books into a game. And definately reading the books would be more important than playing the previous games if you want to grasp the whole world of the witcher.
I thought the same thing. Apart from the typical different colour setup between both consoles the game looks identical to me on both platforms. The game is beatiful and we are in for a treat no matter on what console :)
Xbox One since day one because it simply is the better console to my taste. I like all features, XBL, Kinect, gamepad and exclusives better on X1 than on PS4. For me there is no doubt, I would pick it up again. PS4 is no bad console but nothing special to me. And I don't like the DS4, hence PS4 is not the console for me.
Keep in mind this is MY OPINION and other people may feel different. But that is how the world is. Which one of the consoles is better is a matter of sub...
As expected. I am a Sim racining fan but with Forza Motorsport 5 on the Xbox One and Forza Motorsport 6 around the corner I have no need to buy Project Cars if a 1st party high class sim racer is coming soon. Since there is no sim racer on PS4 I am not surprised PC has the sales lead there.
We saw the Xbox version (last years build of the game) last year at E3 at microsofts show! It will look the same as the PS4 version apart from the resolution.
"Meanwhile, Mamais confirmed that the version of Witcher 3 shown during Microsoft's E3 press conference was indeed running on an Xbox One at 900p resolution and 30 frames per second."

Xbox footage from last years E3:

Note that this is an almost 1 year old built of the game.
Agree, CDPR worked hard on every version! They all will be awesome!
From the same article as above:
""It's actually easier to develop for Xbox One for us because we're PC developers. So everything we do on PC is for DirectX 11. And Xbox is also based on DX. So for the rendering side it's a more natural progression for us to go to Xbox.
"But we anticipate being able to do 1080p on PS4 a little bit easier than on the ...
Last E3 on Microsofts presser CDPR played on an actual Xbox by their own account:
"Meanwhile, Mamais confirmed that the version of Witcher 3 shown during Microsoft's E3 press conference was indeed running on an Xbox One at 900p resolution and 30 frames per second."

You know, since Microsoft is unifying Xbox gaming with Windows 10 on Xbox One and PC, with DX12 as universal API that makes porting easy, Xbox gaming will have a huge install base. Multiplat-Devs are going to have PC as lead platform and "easy-port" them to Xbox and then they invest the remaining time into the smallest install base which will be PS4.
WOW this thread is pure comedy. So many silly fanboy comments...
Play on the console you like and stop with the butthurt if people have a different taste. I love the Xbox One and I don't like the PS4 for various reasons. For MY taste the X1 is the better console. Does that make the PS4 a bad console? No!!! People with different taste might choose otherwise, *shock*!
Both consoles are doing great!
Read the books, then you know he is a great protagonist!
