The fact that people expect Natal to appeal to the hardcore crowd (the same hardcore crowd that scoffed at Eye and the Wiimote) baffles me.
Don't fool yourself. Natal is designed to combat only one thing: the Wii's casual audience.
I guess that's Microsoft's magical charm. Take something that your fanbase previously trolled against and then convince them you invented it to make them love it.
Waaaa? Why is VGChartz being used for news?
Well, anyway...
"But but but but the Slim and a price drop won't matter for Sony"
"But...but...but...but Vista isn't as bad as everyone says it is!"
Nice. If true, this is pretty epic. It will move a LOT of systems.
Now, just do the same thing for Western territories, Sony, and watch the money pour in.
When it makes sense?
Gee, it probably won't make sense even when they DO come out with "Halo: Cortana Virtual Girlfriend" for Natal, but people will still buy it.
NO huge surprise here. Pretty much every gamer except harcore Halo fanboys knew this game would be so-so.
@ StanLee
Well, have fun with your "fan service", but I'll take a full game any day of the week, thank you very much.
I don't really expect anything special announced, but Western websites will certainly make a mountain out of whatever molehill announcement Microsoft makes.
My guess is a Bandai-Namco exclusive RPG will be announced for the 360, and maybe FF14 will be announced for the 360 also (funny thing: everyone made FF14 to be no big deal when it was first announced for the PS3, but you can bet that if it goes to the 360, websites will try to act as though it is the death-toll for the PS3)....
If anything this gen "ruined" gaming, I'd be much quicker to point the finger at the overabundance of DLC than at Achievements/Trophies, but that's just me.
I wonder if the bundle will also be released in Western territories, because that would certainly boost a lot of the sales on the PS3.
Fission mailed?
Continuing to price drop won't necessarily increase the 360's sales. See, with the PS3, people have been WAITING for a price drop. Gamers have been saying this since the PS3 launched. The 360's price, however, has always been affordable, and the Arcade unit has been cheaper than the Wii for 3/4th of a year now.
Remember that the Gamecube system was always cheaper than the competition...
People need to take off the "I'm totally in love with Valve" goggles and honestly look at the company. Yeah, they made Half Life. Whoop-dee doo. They're also pumping out games on a very outdated graphics engine, they're overcharging for their content, they're slow developers, and they rely far too heavily on fan-generated mods.
Instead of worshiping Valve, compare them to other current developers such as Turn 10, Naughty Dog, and dozens of others that put Valve to shame...
Nice. It's a fun game but the amount of content felt kinda...thin, so the extra stuff on the PS3 version will be great.
Sony has been picking up momentum since mid-2007.
I mean, how can someone really question Sony when they've been selling just as much as the 360 every year at a higher price point?
Momentum....pah!
Forget the consoles. If you're a true old-school RPG gamer, you'll own both the DS and PSP this generation. Bravo, Nintendo, for giving us such a great RPG to play.
Great review, and it really highlights some things I didn't know were included in the Slim's box (like that "help" Blu Ray disc). PS3 Slim is gonna dominate this holiday.
Yeah. No joke. This is the very "whining" that 360 fanboys accuse PS3 owners of when they complain about receiving games 1 year later or when they complain about exclusive DLC on the 360. It's not fair, but get over it.
The Sony hate/unconditional Microsoft love was never more apparent than after E3 '09. Both companies showed off motion controls. One company used a lot of flashy videos that showed of very little hands-on gameplay, and they were endlessly praised for it (Project Natal). The other company showed off a live on-stage gameplay demonstration that showed off real 1:1 motion controls in a 3D space as well as accurate writing, pointing, etc and it was almost instantly written off (Sony's Motion Contr...
Yeah, the list is an automatic fail for putting Master Chief at the #1 spot. You might love the Halo series, but Master Chief is not a top character. He barely talks. His personality can hardly compete with a cardboard box. He's just an action hero.
I can think of dozens of better characters than Master Chief.
Notice how the MGS:Rising and the MGS: Peace Walker teams are SEPARATE? Pay attention: we know that the MGS4 team is working on MGS: Peace Walker, meaning that the MGS4 team is NOT working on Rising.
It's funny how people have been playing damage control with MG:Rising, even though since day one...
- It is clearly a spin-off
- It is not the "brain child" of Kojima like Peace Walker is
- It is multiplatform
No matter how you dress it...
Anyone remember how many 360 supporters here on N4G said "Just wait for Section 8. Hahahah! We get Section 8 as an exclusive! It's gonna be awesome!"?
But apparently, the "Sony fanboys" are the only ones who hype up every exclusive, right?
