It's sad, because I would REALLY enjoy a handheld Microsoft gaming platform (as long as the hardware was solid and the game pricing wasn't draconian). It would open up an entire market for Western devs to jump into the handheld market, which has been dominated by Japanese devs since...forever.
Nintendo and Sony are both doing well. I'm amazed to see the PSP still doing so well, but that might be due to the PSP-Go (maybe, maybe not. I can't say for certain).
And of course, the PS3 Slim and the price drop did NOTHING for sales. /sarcasm
Wow. I totally disagree with Resistance 2 being on that list. That game was pretty dang sweet with an awesome co-op mode and an enjoyable campaign. The sad thing was that *certain* media outlets were all too eager to make comparisons between Gears 2 and Resistance 2, but we all know which one could only handle a dozen AI-driven enemies on the screen at one time and ended up having massive online server issues and glitches, not to mention a graphics engine that was barely improved from the fir...

Certainly a Home clone will appeal to the hardcore crowd, just like Mii-too Avatars really got the hardcore gamers excited, and just like Netflix and Twitter integration really got the hardcore gamers excited, and just like (let's be honest here) waving your arms around in front of a Natal camera or talking to little Milo really got the hardcore gamers excited....

Agreed. This list is pretty pathetic, especially when you have the entire history of video games to pick from. Crackdown? Halo 3? Suuuuure. I could list dozens upon dozens of games from the Dreamcast, SNES, Genesis, PS1, etc. etc. etc. that are more deserving of being on this list.
PS3 has plenty of killer apps. The only people who say otherwise are blind fanboys and sensationalist journalists.

Your definition of a "killer app" is flawed. According to your thinking, neither Halo 3 nor Gears are killer apps since they didn't help the 360 sell more than the Wii (the current console sales leader).
I totally agree with Dead Space at #1. I'd also put Valkyria Chronicles and Folklore on there.

Oh wow. That would be really awesome. Ico and SotC are two of last gen's best games, and to this day have some of the best "storytelling" (take that how you will), boss sequences, and art direction.
What is happening to all these multiplatform games? The quality this year seems to lie with the exclusives. Heck, outside of the new Rock Band and the new Call of Duty game, it seems that gamers are far more excited for the exclusives coming out, since those games are showing the most quality.

Yeah, people pay for the content, but do they have a choice if they want the "full" experience? And who is to say that you HAVE to charge for additional content? PC modding communities all say "Hello", as well as Valve, Stardock, Blizzard, and several other PC devs who give out high-quality upgrades and content packs for FREE.
