It seems that Peter Moore really DID make the Dreamcast 2 (a.k.a the Xbox 360). This pirating thing on the 360 is getting ridiculous, and game devs aren't going to stand for it. After all, one of the advantages of consoles is that you should have LESS piracy, but the 360 is proving to be quite the little den of pirated software. It's not surprising: faulty hardware, laughable security from the "professionals" at Microsoft, and a 9-year-old format (DVD). It was only a matter of time ...

The media is hilarious these days. "surely some deep, thought provoking questions need to be asked over at Sony HQ". Is that so? Well, then surely some deep questions need to be asked over at Microsoft HQ. Questions such as:
- Why are 1st-party devs dropping like flies?
- Why are devs starting to complain about the 360's limitation?

And HERE's the humdinger!

- Why has the PS3 outsold the 360 IN THE USA month after month this year? I thought the ...

Niiice. Including multiplatform games, there are certainly a lot of games to look forward to this holiday. "The PS3 has no good games" is SOOOOO 2006.

I have little interest in Home, but then again, I was never one for social networking sites (Myspace, Facebook) or MMOs. It's just not my thing.

However, why is Sony bashed for showing off Home whereas these same gaming journalists gobble up any news about New Xbox Experience and the Avatar system? They might as well TRY to mask their obvious bias.

(and it's sad that I need to mention this, because otherwise my comment will be regarded as "anti-Sony hate", ...

1. Microsoft pushed out a new OS
2. Microsoft assumed that people would say "Oh! A new Windows OS! ME WANT BUY!"
3. Consumers saw the astronomical (for the time) hardware requirements and stuck with XP
4. Most of the consumers who upgraded to Vista hated it
5. Microsoft says "Daaang! People didn't buy our buggy software as usual! What do we do?" and they've been playing damage control ever since.

This behavior is very typical of Microso...

I don't see how this is a "Wii type game" or a "casual" game. Sidescrolling platformers are beloved by many hardcore gamers, as evidenced by the recent release of Braid on XBLA. Platforming games are rare these days, and a sidescrolling platforming game is even rarer. Rarer still is a sidescrolling platformer that has AAA production values. And then -- of course -- we come to LBP, which just so happens to add the most robust level editor ever seen on consoles to the game. ...

Studies show that during times of economic decline, the demand for affordable entertainment increases. People do LESS travelling and MORE working, meaning that they might only have a few hours a day to goof off.It means that they're stuck at home, so home entertainment becomes extremely desirable. Can they go to Six Flags? Nope. Can they go on a weekend vacation? Nope. Can they spend $25 on a Blu Ray? Yep.

I actually feel bad for 360 owners. It would have been a brilliant move on MS's part to include HD-DVD in every system, and it would have KILLED Blu Ray (the 1-year head start would have been perfect). Also, it would allow developers to make bigger games on the 360 instead of relying on multiplayer or multiple disks to push the game.

Instead, Microsoft played "me too" (as usual) and threw the HD-DVD drive in there at the last minute. They claimed that HD-DVD was the fut...

After seeing the many youtube videos from the beta, it's obvious that this game is a winner. I'm glad that the levels included with the game are also very awesome. Overall, this game deserves all the hype and praise it receives. As the reviewer put it: "it's nice to see such a happy game in a world of blood-soaked shooters".

EVERYone knows that to run a vibrant and competative business, you shouldn't give customers what they THINK they want. You should give them something they DON'T YET KNOW that they want. So, it's BS to say "Durr! Xbox owners don't want Blu Ray!" The reality is that they don't want it YET, and I'd wager that many of them "don't want Blu Ray" because -- just like Microsoft -- they don't want to admit that the PS3 did something right.

Oh, but wait. We're talking a...

So we're getting all excited and proclaiming the defeat of Sony because you can get a 360 bundled with a 720p (a.k.a 3-year-old technology) HDTV? Hurrrr? I'm confused. If anything, the fact that the person will OWN an HDTV removes an obstacle in their way of getting a PS3 (even as a Blu Ray player and nothing more). Let's face it: the 360's multimedia functions are lacking in comparison to the PS3's, and I know a great deal of people who have owned a 360, bought an HDTV, and then switched ove...

This seems contradictory to everything we've seen in videos and screenshots, not to mention the several hands-on previews from other gaming sites. I -- for one -- am going to thoroughly enjoy this game just like I enjoyed the first one. I think someone simply wants to stir up controversy.

These aren't the droids you're looking for. Move along. Move along.

It means that the 360 is coming out with several big-name JRPGs whereas the PS3 is coming out with none. It's not rocket science. The fact is that the PS3 is still nearly 2 million ahead of the 360, but hey...let's not let the facts get in the way of a spicy news clip!

This article reflects a certain mindset that has permeated the game industry since the 360's launch. If Microsoft has a good system launch/system update/AAA game/press conference/news announcement/etc. Sony is expected to match it or else they "fail". It's like E3 all over again: Sony showed off far more games, and yet the FF13 going to the 360 is what everyone payed attention to. Sony had a much better conference, and yet because they didn't announce...oh...I dunno...Gears of War o...

Do I want Blu Ray movies? Nope. For those that enjoy them, good for you. And no, I don't think they're overpriced, crappy, too shiny, or whatever else anti-Blu Ray fanboys say. I'm just content with the PS3 movie rental store.

Do I want Blu Ray disks? Heck yes. I think that gamers need to understand the incredible advantages of Blu Ray (which is still a new and improving technology). Games have gotten bigger, yet DVD has remained the same size. As soon as I saw Blue Dragon and Lo...

I was already excited about this game, but after playing EA's other highly-anticipated game of this year (Mercs 2), I was very worried that Dead Space would be glitchy. Luckily, that doesn't seem to be the case. Even the "cons" in the review seem pretty normal for a horror game, especially the backtracking that the reviewer seemed to complain about.

I played it a few months ago. My buddy knows Japanese. I don't, so he helped me understand the menus and some of the basic dialog.

But anyway, the gameplay is phenomenal. It's definitely a fresh take on the RPG genre. It's not a shooter with RPG elements (a la System Shock 2 or Deus Ex), but rather it's an RPG with shooter elements. There's so much to customize and tweak, but if you approach it as a shooter, you may end up disappointed, because your characters can't aim worth squ...

Level 5's pedigree is practically flawless, so I was already excited about this game (well, what little we know about this game). However, the inclusion of a PSO-esque online mode is....phenomenal. I'm very excited to try this game out whenever it hits the US.
