It's not just Blu-Ray. The lack of a standard HDD holds back development a lot, too. That's why multiplatform games are looking very crummy compared to games developed just for the PS3, yet these same multiplatform games look just as good (and often better) than any 360 exclusive. Resident Evil 5, Fallout 3, and Modern Warfare 2 all spring to mind.
R&C...a 7? "Too much variety", I'm sure.
Uncharted 2 makes it impossible to ignore the PS3. Every gamer without a PS3 should be considering one. There are far too many games on the PS3 (just counting this year alone) that cannot be missed.
And fanboys will find more meaningless reasons to hate on this Killzone game, too.
PS3 is on a roll. God of War 3, Heavy Rain, MAG, the next Insomniac game, and Gran Turismo 5 all coming next year....and possibly Killzone 3? Holy crap.
I'm going to save myself a headache by simply avoiding Windows 7.
And before all you Windows 7 beta lovers jump down my throat....everyone was singing the praises of Vista before it came out, too, even the "tech guys".
360 fanboys would still find a way to justify the price.
"C'mon! It's only $8.34 a month! What's the big deal?"
Um, do men like shopping?
Some do. Whoop-dee-doo. Gamer girls can be difficult to be around. They often hog the controller and play games that aren't interesting to you. I'm speaking in general, of course, but that has been my experience.
This year (and probably next year) belonged -- without question -- to the PS3.
We saw the highest-rated FPS (Killzone 2), highest-rated sports game (MLB:The Show), highest-rated sandbox game (inFamous), highest-rated console RPG (Demon's Souls), and the highest-rated third-person shooter (Uncharted 2) all come out as exclusives on one platform. Heck, you might as well add Ratchet and Clank: Crack in Time as the highest-rated platforming game of this year, since it will likely sco...
The game does look cool, but at the same time...I dunno. There's SOMEthing about it that seems off. I can't put my finger on it. Oh well. I'm too busy with Uncharted 2 and Demon's Souls (and soon R&C: Crack in Time) to care.
I'm still leery of this game. After it went multiplatform, I lost a lot of my interest. No, not because of some fanboy rage or whatever, but because it was yet another greedy move by Square Enix this generation. They are arrogant and their games have mostly been mediocre this gen. So, for them to split development between two platforms is going to make the game suffer.
I'm not upset at Microsoft for bribing Square-Enix to make the game multiplatform. I'm upset at S-E for being g...
Molyneux announces and promises all sorts of things.
What he lacks is the ability to deliver on his announcements and promises. That's just a fact. Name a single Molyneux game that included all (or even most) of the features he promised...you can't.
I'd be interested to see a cross-study that shows what age groups and demographics are more inclined to make impulse purchases.
Then, I'd be interested to see a cross-study to show the age groups and demographics that make up the fanbase of each of the three consoles.
I'd bet $100 that the console which has the highest percentage of that "impulse buy" demographic also has the highest game sales.
How in the world are games like Braid and Flower not on this list? Did I miss the point of the article, or isn't this supposed to be about the art direction of the games in question?
And there are still PS3 exclusives missing from this list. That goes to show you how awesome the PS3 is.
Does the 360 even HAVE 5 exclusives coming out next year?
Devs keep saying the same thing. Guerrilla said the same thing in regards to KZ2. Kojima said the same thing in regards to MGS4. Mm said the same thing in regards to LBP.
Notice how no developers brag and say "Only possible on the Wii" or "Only possible on the 360". It's because we all know it isn't true. The PS3 is the only console this gen where "only possible" actually applies.
The quality of PS3 games is going to continue pulling ahe...
This is funny. It seems that the argument of the day is "the only reason people are hating on MGS:Rising is because it's on the 360!"
Well, the only reason people are defending Rising is because it's on the 360. What do you have to say to that? Many of you same 360-supporters said that the MGS storyline was rubbish ("Mass Effect is so much better!"), that the gameplay was crap ("I'll play Gears of War instead"), and that Kojima was insane and that hi...
And neither Halo nor Gears will ever match the sales of Mario Kart or Wii Fit.
Lulz. See how important sales are?
Ummmm, the caveat to this comparison is that there is only one console which allows you to play both. So...PS3 wins again. It reminds me of those "inFamous vs Prototype" arguments earlier this year, and then everyone realized at once "Wait a minute. PS3 owners can play BOTH. PS3 wins."
The 360 has always been outsold or almost outsold by the PS3 since the PS3 launched. The only reason why people don't realize this is because of the 1-year head start the 360 had, so it skews sales, but if you compared the sales of each year, the PS3 has either come out ahead or come very close.
