There goes another 360 "exclusive".
I'm not eager to see how MGS: Rising turns out. It will be generic. It's an action game, for crying out loud, and Kojima has made it quite clear that all of the vision and talent is being spent on Peace Walker (disagree? Then compare the amount of news we've heard on Peace Walker with the news we've heard on Rising. Heck, we even have a demo out for Peace Walker. We haven't even seen gameplay of Rising).
An MGS game made without Kojima is like a Half-Life game made by Activision...
But but but but but PS3 doesn't have a dancing Avatar that appears on the main system menu.
So PS3 sucks!
Hahahah! I guess there goes one of the final complaints that 360 owners were desperately clinging to in order to justify Xbox Live.
Frankly, it doesn't affect the hardcore gamers. The PS3 and 360 are both selling really well, and "core" games still sell in the millions.
This article is a failure. It uses information from April, and let's be honest here: the 360 installed base in the USA is almost double that of the PS3. Don't 360 fanboys brag about that all the time? So, doesn't it make SENSE that it would sell more games.
Yet, lots of multiplat games sell more on the PS3 (Street Fighter 4, RE:5, Batman Arkham Asylum, etc), and more importantly many companies reported that they make more money on the PS3 with their games.
Sorry, Estranged, but you're trolling is unsuccessful. Crysis was critically acclaimed when it came out and it has a 91/100 average on Metacritic (so much for your claim of a 7/10 average).
Also, you are incorrect about the gameplay. Most reviewers praised the gameplay and how the graphics and physics enhanced the gameplay.
The main complaint was the average storyline.
Try again next time.
Best graphics of any racing game this generation on ANY platform.
Sorry Turn 10, but you didn't fool anyone except blind fanboys who were desperate to discredit the GT series.
That would be a day to celebrate.
But for now, since people keep posting and approving blog posts and speculative journalism, this is what we're stuck with.
Square Enix is the modern-day Activision of the RPG genre. They know they have fanboys. They know they have your favorite franchises under lock and key. And they know they can release ANY game and people will buy it...well, that isn't the case so much anymore. Gamers are getting wise to S-E's horrible quality control and greed. It was obvious the day FF13 was announced for the 360 that they cared more about money than about making a high-quality game.
Please God. I know you're up there...let a new game engine replace Unreal Engine 3. The world needs to know you are real, and that is a good way to show it.
I'm pretty sure the PS3 can have its firmware updated to accept these new discs.
And even so...50 GB is a lot. Stop pretending that we're "stuck" with ONLY 50 GB. Gimme a break. It's not like we didn't have the same problem with early-generation DVD players being unable to play dual-layer discs.
How is Fable II not on that list? I think that everyone who beat Fable II can universally agree that the ending was 100% crap.
Why call Sony out? Call out the games industry in general. The 360 suffers from a lack of co-op just as much as the PS3 does. Arguably, the only co-op focused console is the Wii...it's a shame that the games are usually boring to play.
Neither Turn 10 nor Epic belong on that list. Turn 10 has proven itself to be a PR-driven company that thrives on lies and PR bullcrap instead of letting their products speak for themselves. Epic has proven that advertising and good media relations are more important than innovation or quality control, since all of their major games this gen have shipped with major bugs and problems yet the media seems to ignore it.
I'll just put this out there:
Jade Empire was their best RPG on the Xbox. Yeah, KotOR 1 and 2 were cool, but Jade Empire was a completely new universe with a great story and several awesome plot twists.
This year was definitely a Sony year. It can't be denied.
Sony had the biggest and highest-rated FPS (Killzone 2), the biggest and highest-rated open-world game (inFamous), the biggest and highest-rated sports game (MLB:The Show), biggest and highest-rated console RPG (Demon's Souls), the biggest and highest-rated TPS (Uncharted 2), and probably the biggest and highest-rated platformer (Ratchet and Clank: Crack in Time, but reviews aren't out yet).
Yeah. Sony and their 2nd party devs definitely know what "quality" means.
Especially since the media is all too happy to point out ANY flaw in a Sony game, they have to ensure quality. It's not like any media outlet would blatantly ignore a completely glitchy and broken multiplayer mode for any of Sony's games...*cough*GearsofWar2*cou gh*
Madden should have been #1 on that list.
If sites like Kotaku got shut down because they couldn't scrape any money from retail advertising, I'd say DIGITAL DOWNLOADS FOR THE WIN!
This is just my personal opinion/prediction, but I don't think MW2 will live up to the hype. It will sell a TON, but Infinity Ward just seems like they're making the player too much of a super-soldier. Certain review sites will shower it with praise, but my guess is that it will land somewhere between a 90 and 93 on Metacritic.
Oh, and Little Big Planet is also higher-rated than Halo 3 or Gears. MGS4 has the same average as Halo 3 and it is higher-rated than Gears (and besides, w...
