This game is 95% hype. I've played it. The graphics were decent, the storyline was a bit lacking, the campaign was short, and the multiplayer -- while good -- was "same ol' CoD".
It's sad that some media outlets will still give this game GotY despite there being FAR better games out there.
Section 8 flopped big time and the gamers who hyped it up would like nothing more than to sweep it under the rug...DLC won't change that.
LOL at all the people still clinging to the hope that the 360 platform will actually "stay one day longer than the PS3".
Microsoft has made it clear that they want to ditch the 360, come out with something new, market it to death, and take your money all over again.
Hmmmm. "Working on other stuff" can only mean one of three things when it comes to Valve these days:
1) finding free community mods, re-skinning them, and selling them as full retail games
2) taking one of their older games, doing minor touch-ups on the graphics, and slapping a "2" or "Episode X" on the end of it
3) thinking of new ways to slam the PS3 platform, though they haven't once developed a game for it
I...
As much as people would like to (blindly) believe in IW, they are jerks, plain and simple. Oh, so they made a couple of neat games? Yeah, I guess that gives them free reign to rip off gamers, behave arrogantly, rehash over and over, and then act like nothing is wrong.
I mean, I got fed up with that in the mid-'90s with Microsoft. I have no tolerance for it these days.
Wow. A flamebait article if I ever saw one.
Here's a title:
"360 gets no exclusives in '09 while PS3 gamers enjoy several".
How do you like them apples?
And to think that this is one of those features that supposedly makes XBLIVE "worth" the yearly fee.
IMO, it simply allows cheaters to cheat, and it harms the "online community" aspect of online multiplayer games (you're not talking to the other players, you're just talking to your friends).
If Sony quit, we'd be left with an imagination-less company that tries its hardest to squeeze money out of its customers (Microsoft), or a company with too much imagination that is trying harder to appease Grandma than the hardcore gamer (Nintendo).
Sony has always been a happy medium between those two.
@ blacktric
Care to elaborate on the "bazillions" of Sony bundles? If I recall, it was Microsoft, not Sony, who had a Modern Warfare 2 bundle, a Resident Evil 5 bundle, a "Holiday" bundle every year, a Halo 3 bundle, not to mention all the different SKUs for the 360 models....the list goes on.
So, it'll arrive AFTER Sony's motion controls (according to what Sony said at E3)?
Alright. I'm putting my money down right now: media bashes nearly every aspect of Sony motion controls, then praises Natal although it launches half a year later. Who wants to take this bet?
Great idea.
As we step into 2010, let's bundle a game from 2008.
Keep in mind that most of these "timed exclusives" were once "Only on 360".
I have to say, "No".
It's more of the same. It isn't pushing gameplay, graphics, storyline, or physics. Worse yet, Activision has been acting mighty arrogant lately, and I think the final quality of MW2 is going to be a bit lazy because of that.
You're ignorant. People don't bash Valve because they don't support the PS3. If that was the only problem, people would also be bashing Bungie, Epic, Lionhead, Rare, etc etc for not supporting the PS3, but they don't.
People bash Valve because Valve execs bash the PS3 for no good reason, and with nothing to back up their statements. It would be like a developer who ONLY makes game on the Nintendo DS bashing the graphics of the 360...
Hah. "Childish and narrow-minded".
It perfectly sums up the attitude at Valve.
Let's be honest. They haven't pushed the boundaries of gaming since Half Life 2. Sorry, but it's true. You REALLY think Left 4 Dead was revolutionary? It's not. It is based on some community mods. You REALLY think Portal was revolutionary? Valve bought that idea from a couple of college students.
Valve hasn't pushed physics, graphics, game engine, or gameplay since H...
Yeah.....the thing is that lots of journalists will probably give the graphics in Reach a 10/10 even if it doesn't manage to beat Uncharted 1, let alone Killzone 2, let alone Uncharted 2, let alone God of War 3, let alone Heavy Rain, let alone Gran Turismo 5.
They did the exact same thing for Halo 3 and ODST, even though the graphics in both games were incredibly outdated.
People will disagree, but the FACT is that the graphics in Halo 3 and ODST are not top of the ...
Most of the people who say "it's nothing but QTEs" are just being pretentious hypocrites.
I mean, consider how the gaming media worships Shenmue as a revolutionary and underappreciated game. "Bawwww! Bawwww! Poor Shenmue didn't get the credit it deserved. Bawwww!", yet they never once consider that Shenmue is "just a bunch of QTEs".
Most of the outspoken people in the video game industry are idiots. When you look at their statements, it...
The casual gamers who buy the Wii clearly don't care about the graphics, so why should Nintendo care?
I know that hardcore Nintendo fans are desperately clinging to the hope that Nintendo will love them once again, but it ain't gonna happen.
Yep. A lot of things in the industry are changing:
- people are starting to see the PS3 hate in the media and how silly it really is
- people are starting to see the quality of PS3 exclusives and lack of 360 exclusives
- people are starting to see Sony's dedication to its customers and to quality, whereas Microsoft is not
Plenty of people are jumping over to the PS3. It's the smart move.
