I would certainly hope so. I'd hate to see a repeat of the 360's "oh, you need to add a harddrive and wi-fi antenna to that Arcade you just bought" debacle.

Yeah. Advertising strategy, like how Microsoft used that same tagline with Vista (Vista Ready) and partnered with Dell, HP, etc to sell a truckload of computers while ignoring the flaws of the new OS.
The main problem with your argument (not saying you have a bad argument) is that there is a large segment of gamers who don't really care about Gears or Halo anymore such as myself.
I already gave the Halo series and the Gears series a fair trial. Neither series interests me anymore. So, why would their newest versions spawn any new interest? This is the problem with the 360: they don't have much variety. At least the PS3 (while it certainly has a lot of sequels) can ...
A great list, full of variety. I would have taken out some of their choices to find room for Valkyria Chronicles and Killzone 2, but hey, you can't have everything.
Yeah, this article is misleading. The 360 S CLEARLY still has RRoD issues, it simply isn't called the RRoD and there's a software prompt that interrupts your game before the system melts, but it's still RRoD.
The power brick is still there, so I don't know what the heck the author was talking about.
And what about the issues that remain such as disc scratching?
Wow. 8 disagrees for flailing_seals?
I guess 360 fanboys simply don't want to see the truth. But I thought Kinect wasn't even aimed at them? That's what every 360 fanboy and journalist is admitting. So, you're willing to defend Kinect to the death even though it isn't aimed at you? M$ loyalty at its finest...
They love Molyneux?
Meaning, they love being disappointed and lied to?
Social?
2 people having a conniption fit in front of two Eyetoys welded together is social?
PS3: it only steals former exclusives.
With an entire studio devoted to making Halo games, I would not be surprised if Microsoft made a yearly Halo game. They've already done it, kinda.
- Halo 3 launched at the end of 2007
- Halo Wars launched at the start of 2009 (a bit more than 1 year later)
- Halo ODST launched at the end of 2009 (less than 1 year later)
- Halo: Reach is launching late 2010 (about 1 year later)
"It is not the product, it is the marketing that's more stupid. "
No, it IS the product.
Kinect is not Project Natal. All of the cool ideas and concepts were shown for Natal. All of the potential was in Natal. Kinect has cut out so much of Natal's power (the built-in CPU, more than two players we can assume, the potential for accurate motion tracking, object scanning, etc). Kinect has taken the cool potential-filled idea of Natal that gamer...
Yup. This is dumb. I wonder if the guy has actually played through Starcraft 2. I have not, but based on what people say, the campaign is as varied and as long as all three of Starcraft 1's campaigns combined.
Where is Alan Wake on that list?
No Morrowind/Oblivion?
And San Andreas > GTA4.
Yeah, Capcom is losing their touch.
What is with the media? Seriously...Need for Speed? True Crime? And yet, there's no LBP2.
LittleBigPlanet was GotY last year at several publications and is still one of the highest-rated game of this generation.
Yet, apparently the sequel should be ignored? The media has never taken such lengths to ignore a sequel to a GotY game.
And people say the media isn't biased against the PS3.
This was a cool, oddball surprise at E3. I hope this game turns out and that people enjoy it.
Random? Hardly.
Nintendo is really going to start another revolution with the 3DS. I don't think they will dominate the console market next-gen, but they'll continue to have the handheld market locked down.
Is this guy even playing the same PS3 that the rest of the world is?
But hasn't Nintendo been "failing" for that very reason because they haven't catered to the hardcore demographic at many of their E3 showings?
MMOs do not interest me. There are too many great games I have yet to play from all of the gaming generations, so why waste hours and hours that - x number of years from now - I won't even be able to lend the game to my friends and allow them to enjoy the story/gameplay, too?
