I agree that Force Unleashed was lame. In terms of hype, it was the GTA4 of the Star Wars franchise, and - like GTA4 - it was a poor effort.
That's what sets Sony apart:
They're willing to take risks and not constantly worry about the final sales.
Well I hope for fans of the series that they can get it on a working platform, but honestly, have people played the Mafia games? It's a barely-passable GTA clone with boring driving sequences. C'mon. With games coming out this fall/winter like Halo Reach, Fable III, GT5, LBP2, CoD:Black Ops, Rock Band 3, and more, do we REALLY want to quibble over this game? Really? It'd be like arguing over who got the better version of Fracture...
I love Borderlands. I still pop it in every once in a while.
For me, I'd like the clothing/vehicle customization that Gearbox originally envisions for the first game. And of course, I'd want more weapon variety and a new option for custom melee weapon types.
I can't tell which one is Kinect and which one is the "eBox". Hmmmm.
I'm glad to see Heavy Rain did well. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but for gamers who are bored of chainsaw bloodfests and online team-deathmatch sessions with cranky 15-year-olds, it was a breath of fresh air.
On an unrelated note, it's funny how some ignorant N4Gers whine and complain about how "PS3 fanturds always crash 360 articles", yet here we have the first two posts occupied by fanboys complaining that Heavy Rain sold well. Boooo hoooo!
David Cage is definitely doing something different in the game industry. I - for one - am bored with the same ol' gorefests and teenage-style humor in every "M" rated game.
And let the backpedaling and "Meh, Child of Eden isn't THAT awesome" begin.
The thing I love about PCs is flexibility. The thing I love about consoles is reliability.
With PCs, I can mod. And with PCs there are more "ree browser-based games, free MMOs, and free downloadable indie games than all the games of all the current consoles combined.
With consoles, I can (usually) count on a reliable game that isn't going to require a ton of patching, hardware updates, driver updates, and so forth. I can (usually) just trust to pop i...
Anything from Demon's Souls.
And THIS is why developers deliver less.
Gamers don't demand more, and when some do, the blind fanatics shout "Fanboy! Faboy! Troll!"
So, many devs just plow the same old crap into the collective gamer butthole and only a few devs are willing to go above and beyond the "average" standard.
I don't care about advertising or which one sells more.
But it simply amazes me how the 360 fanbase is so passionately defending Kinect - something that isn't even aimed at them, something that delivers on 1/10th of the things Micosoft promised it would do. You'd think gamers would have higher standards...
PS3 has new hardcore games coming out for it.
STALKER has always been cool but incredibly glitchy. If it comes to consoles I hope they iron out the gltiches.
A "Top 30" list still wouldn't do the console justice.
Maybe.
We simply want solid, fun games. Halo has never been innovative nor creative yet because the gameplay is so solid, it is one of the most popular FPSs in the industry.
Aaaand didn't we all say this? I pity those few 360 fanboys who actually thought Gamescom would have a big announcement from Microsoft...
"Wait until E3! Wait until E3!" said the 360 fanboys this year. And after E3... "Wait until Gamescom!" And of course all of us who pointed out that Gamescom rarely had big announcements were bubbled down and marked for "trolling". Ha!
Great preview. The game sounds very fun. Long live Bioshock!
It looks freakin' cool.
I'm glad to see them explore a new setting. I think a third trip to Rapture would simply be boring.
"Skill based" and "Call of Duty" are two phrases that should never be used together.
People should play CoD2. That game requires more skill than CoD4.
The more you know!
