Certain people would LOVE for Limbo to win GotY, but the reality is that there have been plenty of really good downloadable games in the past on LIVE Arcade and PSN that didn't win GotY.
And let's face it: the hype surrounding hype will only last until it hits PSN. Then the hype and adoration will magically disappear, just like it did for Braid and Castle Crashers.
Epic Mickey looked really cool, but not something worth buying a Wii for.
On the other hand, I'd buy it if it came out for PS3.
It's not an issue of Move vs Kinect.
It's an issues of gamers vs Kinect.
Not everyone who hates Kinect automatically supports Move (me, for instance). Kinect has its own long list of things to hate it for.
And since when did popularity matter? It's funny how the ONLY ONLY ONLY defense against Kinect's negatives is "bu bu but it's gonna be popular".
I wonder if PS3 gamers will brag about this or if they'll keep the same stance they had with GTA4: "DLC doesn't matter".
I played this on my neighbor/friend's 360 and I must say that it was pretty awesome. My only gripe is how the camera pans in and out but whatever.
Well for starters, the media wouldn't have hyped it or given it good scores...
Interesting article. Video games are one of those things that literally everyone can enjoy if they have an open mind. Not liking video games is like not liking movies or music. It's not an issue of finding the right person (well, they do have to be open-minded) but rather an issue of finding the right game.
My wife plays the DS, PSP, and PS3. She plays games including Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Rock Band, Phoenix Wright, Little Big Planet, DJ Hero, Skate 3, inFamous, and L...
Oh console gamers...
Typical that they would pick games like Bioshock and Halo instead of the TRUE innovators like Tribes 2, Deus Ex, and System Shock 2.
No.
Sub-par graphics, average storylines, gratuitous violence, and wonky physics.
And then magically convincing the media that it's a 10/10 game.
THAT is what other devs could learn from GTA.
Wait. What? Of course not EVERY 3D movie is going to be a hit, but there are a ton of 3D movies coming out. Almost every big-name movie comes out in 3D. And with 3D TVs also slowly being adopted, I don't think 3D is going to disappear.
"But I thought sales don't matter" the fanboys will chime, and then they rush off to defend Kinect because it might sell like hotcakes.
And to think that some "journalists" gave this game Racing Game of the Show at E3 this year....
*tsk tsk tsk*
They should have these available for DLC on the DSi and on the 3DS.
People talked about PS3 exclusives going multiplatform all the time.
But the reality is that not a single PS3 exclusive has gone multiplatform. The reality is that FORMERLY PS2 EXCLUSIVE games have gone multiplatform such as Tekken, Devil May Cry, etc.
So who is losing exclusive franchises and games (as in, games or franchises that came out on the 360 but later launched on the PS3)? The 360 is losing them by the buckets. Bioshock, Ninja Gaiden, Dead Rising, S...
@ tdrules
Um, this article is a comment on a game the author has no interest in. Am I not allowed to voice my agreement with the authors non-interest?
@ T9X69
There used to be. Or don't you remember?
It was before the PS3 had an undeniable amount of good exclusives, Blu Ray was selling, and when the PS3 began to dominate the Top 10 Metacritic charts. After that, the "PS3 is doomed" articles stopped. But before then, yes, there were at LEAST 3 "PS3 is doomed" articles every day.
I respect opinions, but I wonder how many FPSs this guy has played.
The bubble system work, but not in terms of the quality of posts. I get disagrees and de-bubbles simple because I've been on this site for several years, people recognize my name and they know the console I prefer. And since I've never made an alt account, my record sticks with me. So, people see my name, ignore my comment, and de-bubble me.
People claim to want to allow opinions, but then there are people like me on the site who are constantly shouted down and de-bub...
If only 360 gamers could see their own words:
"Yeah, it fails to impress..."
"Yeah, it's aimed at casuals..."
"Yeah, it doesn't do most of the stuff Natal was supposed to do..."
"Yeah, launch software is terrible..."
"...but its popularity is getting bigger!"
Durrrr. What are you, shareholders? Typical of a fanboy to worry about sales while your gaming console of c...
The cool thing about handhelds:
You can own them all for the price of one console. There's no reason to compare them. Both the PSP and the DS are worth owning.
