360 owners said nothing on PSN will ever come close to Achievements. Look what happened.
360 owners said nothing on PSN will ever come close to the video selection on the Marketplace store. Look what happened.
360 owners said nothing on PS3 will graphically come close to Gears of War. Look what happened.
Need I continue, or did you WANT to eat crow when something on PS3 does indeed trump this?
Crab, weren't you posting in the first few of these threads that the news was "BS" because "there wasn't enough proof of this happening"?
Okay, so now that you ARE being shown proof that it's happening, now you're complaining about duplicate articles?
IMO, there should be at least one RRoD article every day until Microsoft does the right thing and fixes the problem at the source: the hardware.
I agree with the list except for Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and Assassin's Creed. I loved both of those games, and while R6V2 didn't "kill" CoD4, it did carve out its own niche. There are plenty of people out there who prefer R6V2 over CoD4 because there are plenty of unique features in R6 that CoD4 doesn't offer.
If by "shiny makeover" they mean "huge wallop of issues" then they would be 100% correct.
Hardware and software work together, you know. It's software that tells the 360 hardware to run at a certain speed, process at a certain speed, and shut down at a certain heat.
The 360 owners who are calling BS on this because "software doesn't affect hardware" shows how truly ignorant you are. The NXE was a complete overhaul of the 360's firmware, so to say that "software doesn't affect hardware" is incorrect.
That's insulting. Only Microsoft would do something so low.
I mean, we all know that M$ likes to bash the Playstation brand, but associating Playstation with Vista? That's cold.
"Casual" and "hardcore" are such silly terms that only recently gained importance. Why can't we just be gamers? At least back in the days of Nintendo vs SEGA or Nintendo vs Sony, companies would simply argue about who has the best games. Nowadays, companies have stooped to calling the fanbases of other consoles "casual" as if that's an insult.
Everyone -- and I mean EVERYONE -- was once a casual gamer, because a casual gamer is a person who doesn't t...
It's sad that such a major update that...uh...how did Microsoft put it?
"Will revolutionize the living room and social networking on home consoles"
Or something like that. Yeah, it's sad that such a "major" update has caused so many major problems.
Of course, I'll get slammed with disagrees, but I laugh at 360 customers who so willingly buy crappy hardware and put up with these issues. Way to show your idio....er...your "devotion...
That's pretty cool. I've always thought that the Gamerscore/Trophyscore stuff has been silly (since the overall score serves absolutely no purpose) but the Achievements/Trophies themselves are a lot of fun. It's basically like free game content because it encourages you to try things (like play through Dead Space using only the Plasma Cutter) that you might not necessarily have tried before.
So even the almighty METAcritic agrees that the PS3 had better exclusives this year. Hmmmm.
"Buh buh buh buh it's only by .4%"
Really? So am I to assume that the many PS3 exclusives that were "lololol! flop! not a AAA!" because they received an 88% or 89% can now be considered AAA because -- after all -- it's only 1 or 2 percent...
KZ2 is definitely sweet. The only people not looking forward to this game are either fanboys or they simply hate FPSs. Even my 360-only buddy (with which I am playing L4D right now) is super excited about the game.
Now are you enjoying NXE?
To those ignorant fanboys in here who keep claiming that this is BS:
Another article on this was just posted on N4G. Take a peek at the front page.
If the problem continues to persist, journalists have an obligation to report it. In fact, I think that journalists are far too lenient on the RRoD issue.
I'd much rather see real news like this instead of speculative "news" like "Will Blu Ray die this Holiday?" or "Will the DS kill the 360?"
So Gears of War 2 is (still) having server issues, XBL is having issues, Sony pulled a huge chunk of movies from the NXE Netflix service, the NXE is causing all sorts of hardware failures, and now Microsoft's flagship title plays WORSE with the new update.
360 owners are on hard times. I hope M$ can resolve these issues quickly.
My condolences to 360 owners who are suffering through this. I'm not the biggest fan of M$, but I didn't think they'd mess up THIS bad. For those of you who aren't experiencing these problems, good luck and game on.
Crab, you are a 360 fanboy who is trying to downplay and suppress the truth. Don't be angry when people don't go along with your ploy.
This is newsworthy. The biggest update of the year for the 360 and it's crashing consoles and causing glitches (not just RRoD but lockups, graphical glitches, and slowdowns)....that is newsworthy.
If it breaks your shriveled fanboy heart that your precious Microsoft dropped the ball on this one, too bad. If you aren't a fanboy and yo...
