As far as the two HD consoles go, there won't be a clear winner like the PS2 vs. Xbox last generation. It'll probably be a 60/40 or 65/35 split of the market with either portion going to Sony or M$. Wii -- of course -- will sell more than both combined, I think.

LeonSKennedy, you have failed me for the last time!

*death-choke!*

I could care less. I get disagrees all the time and I don't pay attention to them. It's all good. :^)

Lol. Just like they gave Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts an A-.

1up's credibility: nil.

The author rants and raves about The Director and even says "The Director made me overlook many issues like the sub-par graphics, the random glitches, and the repetitive campaign." Here, let me just directly quote:

"The Director's helped to create so many memorable play sessions that I overlook stuff like how the graphics aren't quite up to par with mode...

So true. When you have a game like Mirror's Edge getting an 8/10 for graphics from IGN yet they give L4D a 9.5/10 for graphics, you know there's a problem.

Check your precious Bible...er...Metacritic. The average score is 88/100. Last time I checked, that would not constitute as AAA.

But I've played plenty of non-AAA games I enjoyed, so oh well.

Funny thing is that the N4G article posts that have Giant Bomb and Negative Gamer's score for this game have yet to make it to the front page. 360 fanboys only want to see glimmering reviews for their games.

@ mintaro

L4D's graphics barely match up to the original Half Life 2's graphics, and HL2 had more environmental variety and color. Episode 2, TF2, and Portal are all graphically superior to L4D in every way.

I'm not anal. I'm just not giving the game a pass. I enjoy a lot of games with mediocre graphics (L4D being one of them), but I'm not going to claim that the graphics are great. They're not. What's worse is when reviewers claim that L4D DOES have good graphics. That's a lie.

6271d ago 1 agree3 disagreeView comment

Wow. Kotaku joins the list of reviewers who give the game's graphics a free pass.

Very few people are contesting the gameplay or replay value of L4D, but let's not ignore obvious flaws with the game, mkay?

No, that would be incorrect to call the 360 a "Patchbox", because the nickname would imply that the system actually gets patches. It rarely does.

"Denialbox" or "Warrantybox" would be a better name, since denying problems and offering warranties seems to be Microsoft's way of solving problems.

Lol. I'm amazed no one is commenting on this article...or maybe it was moderated. Hilarious.

And yet you wholeheartedly support Microsoft.

Hmmmm....I hope I'm not the only one who sees a glaring contradiction there.

Blu Ray being down IS newsworthy. It's news, but the problem is when someone assumes something based on the news. In other words, don't assume that this little slice of news automatically means Blu Ray is dead.

If the 10-weeks of high sales for the 360 in Japan is a black eye for Sony, what would you call the year-long lead of the PS3 over the 360?

I love how fanboys will focus on one small victory yet ignore the rest of the year where the PS3 has absolutely crushed the 360. Has the 360 even hit 1 million over there in Japan?

6271d ago 2 agree2 disagreeView comment

Wait for White Knight Chronicles and the FF13/Advent Children bundle. Plus, LBP might start gaining ground over there. Who knows? I love how Microsoft's sales boosts due to high-profile JRPG launches are considered "a sign that PS3 might lose Japan" yet Sony's sales drops due to a lack of high-profile games is considered "a sign that the PS3 is losing in Japan".

Lol...just...Lol.

The main thing that set RPGs apart in the past was that they had great set-pieces, cool cutscenes, and epic storylines. Other games did not have these things. Of course if you have an SNES, Final Fantasy 3's (a.k.a FF6) storyline is going to seem epic if the only other games you're playing are Mega Man X and Super Mario World. I'm not downplaying FF6's storyline, but it needs to be pointed out that strong storylines aren't unique to RPGs anymore.

In fact, I would argue that the m...

That's BS, but I would expect nothing less from you. Media Molecule is not on a "modding spree". Just the other day there was an article about "Azure Palace" being taken down, yet I saw it on there two days ago and again today. MM restored many of the moderated levels after investigating the issues, but I guess "investigating" a story would extend beyond your talents, now wouldn't it?

I'm curious to see which costumes media molecule "stole"...

Consoles will never be able to kills PC gaming. However, consoles can (and will) affect PC gaming and can change it. "Hardcore" high-end PC gaming is on a decline. Those are the facts. The smaller, "casual" games are the ones that are the most successful as well as multiplayer-focused games like WoW. I'm not saying that PC gaming is dead, but I have been a PC gamers since the early days of installing games to MS-DOS using a floppy disk, and I can say that PC gaming is very...

I imagine Sony will do just fine. They've beaten the 360's 2007 sales in their first year, and it looks like they're on track to beat the 360's 2008 sales in their second year. They're pretty much keeping pace with the PS2, and Blu Ray is really taking off as a format. I don't see how any sensible person can call that a "fail".

Of course, unless the PS3 sells 10 million consoles in December and completely overtakes the 360, fanboys aren't going to accept that Sony is do...
