GTA4 was a disappointment for many gamers. Plus, in this day and age it's all about the newest and shiniest game. Very few people want to dig up a game that's nearly a year old for some DLC. If they gave it to gamers for free perhaps they'd pay attention (like how EA gave a bunch of free stuff to Burnout Paradise owners).
HOME is not an answer to Live. Live doesn't offer anything like HOME. If HOME was a cross-game chat mechanic or something like that....sure.
Oh Bladestar. Spin spin spin.
Everyone anticipated that this would be a huge success on the 360 and even bragged about the fact that it was a timed exclusive.
But that's okay. You can play damage control all you want.
And this has nothing to do with hardware or graphics? BS. Every reviewer has mentioned how the game suffers from framerate drops and texture pop-in.
I'm amazed that even 1up (who are famous for ignoring glaring issues when handing out a review score) gave this game such a low score. They even scored "You're in the Movies" a higher score.
A shame, because this game had a lot of potential. Oh well. Valkyria Chronicles and Persona 4 for this season's JRPG fix will be enough, I suppose.
Funny. I will give Jaffe this: his statements are far more entertaining than Cliffy B.
How does the media hang on every word of Cliffy's and ignore THIS guy? Lol!
@ Jack Who
Squaresoft did it first. They packed a bunch of demos of their games with Final Fantasy 8.
Lol.
I'm sure it's a great game. I'm not bashing the reviewer because his opinion is different than mine. I'm bashing it because the reviewer's score doesn't match up with his complaints, especially since he makes the issues seem pretty frustrating. 1up has done this a LOT, and that's why I'm not too fond of their reviews.
Eh, it's pretty dang hard to "copy" Bungie when they don't really have anything original of their own to offer. That's just common sense.
And as far as the logo goes.....really? I don't see any resemblance. This is like that LBP article last week that claimed Sony "copied" a user's costume idea simply because both costumes used a shark in it. Lame. I might as well claim that Halo 3 copied the bubble shield from Resistance: Fall of Man.
@ Sackboy
Think about what you're saying for a second. If I'm a Sony fanboy who thinks Gametrailers is biased, I SHOULD be excited for a good pro-PS3 review from them. After all, if I think they are biased and even the BIASED site gives a PS3 game a nice score, it proves that it's a good game.
Instead of constantly spouting fanboy nonsense perhaps you should apply some logic to what you say.
True. Let's give them credit. Y'know. You have to use positive reinforcement, kinda like potty training a child.
"Awwwwww. You've had crappy sales since you were born, but you went doo-doo in Japan's toilet for seven whole weeks this year! Hurray!"
Infinite Undiscovery. The Last Remnant. Now it's Star Ocean's turn. Will it deliver? Hmmmmmm...
If LBP was released on the Wii it wouldn't be the same as the PS3 version.
So perhaps it wouldn't be too far off base to call the cut-down version "kiddy crap".
And you forget that 360 owners call this game kiddy.
The 360 turnaround, silly!
Don't you know the old saying about how the 360 turns toward good sales and then turns right back around and goes the other way?
It certainly deserves the awesome score. It's nice to see innovative, refreshing RPGs get attention while crappy RPGs with big-name developers (i.e. S-E's Last Remnant) get called out.
These articles are getting incredibly old, especially since we haven't seen November sales for the game (which are looking pretty good).
They're almost as bad as "Will ______ save Blu Ray from total doom?" articles. So many journalists are desperate to find some sort of failure to jab in Sony's face.
And gamers who care about sales are pathetic. If you mock someone's game because of the sales, you're not a true gamer. At least in the good ol' days a SEGA fa...
Call me when the 360 breaks a million in Japan. Then we'll talk.
As it stands the 360 hasn't broken a million consoles in Japan and that's at a CHEAPER price, MORE exclusive JRPGs, and a 1-YEAR headstart.
The same old BS line of "oh...well...it's doing great compared to the previous Xbox". It's still doing horribly. I love how fanboys will mock the PS3 for being SOOOO behind in sales in the USA (even though it has a faster adoption curve than the 360) yet ...
FF13 demo exclusive to the PS3.
In other words, whooop-dee-doo! Besides, if it's only in Japan, you 360 owners in the West can't play it. On the other hand, if the demo comes out in Japan for the PS3, I can download it without a sweat on my PS3. Ahhhhh. That's the glorious part of being region-free.
