Since when was nearly a million sales in a month's time a "flop"?
People are really desperate to throw egg at this game.
Unless they design the game to use the hard drive (which I doubt because Microsoft doesn't allow developers to do that), there's no way they could install 4 disks and play from one. The "game install" feature on the 360 installs files from each disk, but you still need to have the disk in your drive.
That's no surprise. It would be nice if you could install the game discs to the HDD and play the whole game from one disk, but sadly that won't be the case. I hope that the disk-switching is "linear", as in you won't have to switch back and forth between disks as you travel to different areas.
How can Gears 2 receive best multiplayer when it's so dang glitchy? And I would have to say that while Gears 2 certainly did well for itself with its five nominations, LBP and MGS4 each earned seven nominations in their respective categories.....a BIT more newsworthy.
14 nominations between MGS4 and LBP > 5 nominations for Gears 2.
Five nominations certainly is nice, but the fact that MGS4 and LBP both received seven nominations is a bit more newsworthy.
Keighley actually used to (seemingly) be a 360 fanboy. His questions would always have a pro-360 spin. Yet now, it seems that he's far more supportive of the PS3.
On another note, Pachter used to be a big Sony and Nintendo supporter. He would routinely bash Microsoft for the continued failure rate and "same old" types of games. Now he worships them and bashes Sony any chance he gets.
It's odd, but either way it goes to show that gaming media is just as bias...
Of course, 360 fanboys will still claim that the media isn't biased. I mean, who would want to admit that many of the positive reviews of their favorite games and favorite console were stacked?
The fact that you have to use the computer to queue up movies is a huge oversight. You can't really claim that it's "integrated" when you have to use a separate device to even run the service properly.
And it needs to be pointed out that "new release" movies will NEVER be available on the "Instant Watch" or steaming sections. Netflix has said many many times that the licensing costs to stream these movies is far too high. Their catalog of "Insta...
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I think the complaints about KZ2's controls are unfounded. It's one thing to dislike the game's controls due to a lack of polish, but that isn't the case here. He just doesn't like them.
I mean, it would be like hating Half Life 2's controls because there's no Melee button (you have to switch to the crowbar) or hating Halo 3's controls because there's no cover mechanic. If the game is a tactical shooter like KZ2, the controls are going t...
Gee. So basically he's saying "Yes, internet, we ARE as biased as you have said."
Thanks for the confirmation, buddy.
And as far as the 360 controller being a "far superior gaming device"...lol. Go try to play a fighting game on that thing. Heck, try to use the D-Pad for ANY serious task and you'll fail. Plus, I prefer the Dualshock face buttons (square, triangle, etc) to the Xbox face buttons (X,Y,A,B). Period. See what I did there? I put a period ...
Just like Microsoft counts Silver (i.e not able to use Live) members in their counts for Xbox LIVE members...
*sigh*
I pity 360 owners.
Why would pirates copy a dying format?
(Pro-tip: it's not dying)
It's hard to be "cool" when you're copying the competition.
The "procedural development" in L4D would have been far more noticeable if there were more enemy types, more weapons, and/or more varied environments. At the present, it just feels like a really fun Diablo-esque FPS without the randomly generated maps or a level-up system.
And I'm not saying that's a bad thing. It's simply not the "procedural development" that Valve boasted about. By the middle of the second "movie", you've seen pretty much every &qu...
As someone mentioned already, Microsoft's PR is like a marathon runner winning second place (because he was beat by Mr. Wii) and gloating over the third-place winner (PS3) even though he had a 2-mile head-start.
The Microsoft Gaming division is childish. It's hard to respect them as a company when they talk about the PS3 more than they talk about themselves.
Without the 1-year head start the 360 would have never sold. Without a built-in Blu Ray player the PS3 would have never sold and Blu Ray would have never won.
But the fact remains that all of those things DID happen. Live with it. The Wii sells like hotcakes despite the fact that it hasn't had a price drop (or major drop in sales, for that matter) for the entire 2-year lifespan. That's incredible no matter how you look at it.
This game is a ton of fun but the reviewer is right. The small amount of content and the outdated graphics keep this game from being a worthwhile $60 purchase.
And I love how certain people (both 360 and PS3 owners) will argue about the graphics in a multiplatform game and say "SEE?!?! MAH VERSION IS TEH BETTAR!! IT HAS 2% FEWER JAGGIEZ!!!" and yet when it comes to the sub-par graphics in L4D the excuse is "uhh...uh....gameplay is more important than graphics."...
