I don't think that the PS3 should be the center of attention. A quick look at the HUGE gap between S-E titles on the 360 and S-E titles on the PS3 should make it clear: PS3 owners would like ANY attention from S-E, because we aren't getting any. I don't propose that S-E become an exclusive PS3 developer. However, I DO propose that they live up to their claim that they are a "multiplatform company" and actually put games out on the PS3. That is not an unreasonable ...
Now that the warranty is done for the launch 360 owners, the clock is ticking for everyone else. Day after day, thousands of 360 owners will be without Microsoft's warranty. Month after month, a fresh batch of 360 gamers will be defenseless against the RRoD.
Before, 360 owners would say "Oh, but it's under warranty. Oh, but I'll just send it in for a free repair" as if that made the hardware failures acceptable. I wonder if 360 owners will change their tune once their a...
Correct me if I'm mistaken, but Square-Enix practically IS a console-exclusive company (despite their BS about being a multiplatform company now). Look at all the exclusives they've been handing the 360. Granted, they're all pretty crappy, but still...
You know, this whole situation is pathetic. This is PREVIEW CODE (i.e. unfinished code) that we're dealing with here, and yet sites like 1up will play it and bash it just to get hits. C'mon, kids. If you think 1up is fair and balanced when it comes to video game news, you must be new to the internet. This is the same site that gave an A- to Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. This is the same site that gave an A- to Wii Music. Their credibility is nil. Just because a guy SAYS that he isn't biased ...
And to think that people mocked Little Big Planet for a few days of server problems...
I find it hilarious how 1up will often throw a negative spin on any positive PS3 news. May I direct the jury's attention to...
"it seems Sony saw their biggest gains (relatively) in Japan."
Yes. Relatively. They saw their biggest gains (relatively). Where was Microsoft's "relatively" when they sold relatively well in Japan for seven weeks, 1up?
This may seem like nitpicking, but if you follow 1up's news for any length of time, you can...
As cool as an open-source PS3 would be, I think Sony has learned their lesson with the PSP and the rampant piracy and hacking on that handheld. I doubt they would open up the more malleable aspects of the system to hackers and whatnot.
The only reason why there's even SPECULATION about a new MGS on the 360 is because fanboy sites like 1up make that their headline to get hits. I think it's only further proof that the MGS series is a landmark series when 360 owners will chase after any and every conspiracy theory that might hint an MGS game on their console. Funny, because I don't see PS3 owners screaming "OMG! Just you wait! Gears WILL be on PS3!" and stuff like that.
Cool. I can't wait for all the hilarious bugs and glitch reports to show up on N4G. That's the highlight of my week.
Personally, I don't care about the 3 disks. My REAL gripe is how vehemently 360 fanboys will defend multiple disks yet they'll turn around and mock PS3 owners for playing a game with a mandatory install (oh wait. Installs are "totally cool" now that the 360 has them, amirite?)
In the end, neither really matter all that much, but fanboys will continue making mountains out of molehills.
Glitchfest 3? No thanks. It'll be good when Bethesda patches it so that it isn't fundamentally broken. Oh wait. You're a 360 gamer. I forgot that you kids have been vaccinated against feeling frustrated by obvious bugs and glitches in your games, because you never seem to notice them (Fable II, Gears 2, Left 4 Dead, and several other 360 exclusives say "Hi!")
Let's be fair here: Epic is the only company that knows how to use UE3 for ANY console. There hasn't been a single developer that used UE3 for their game and made it look even half as nice as Gears or UT3. Too Human and Brothers in Arms are just two examples in the long list of so-so UE3 games on the market.
How do you still have bubbles? Here, let me help you with that.
"How did you get the prestigious honor of getting paid to turn crappy RPGs into console exclusives and timed exclusives? Since it seems to pay so well, where can I sign up?"
It looks incredible. I can't wait for February '09. Actually, all of '09 is looking pretty dang amazing for PS3 owners.
That's why I love Sony. They invest their money in innovation that moves the industry forward instead of short-term things like exclusive DLC and timed console exclusives.....not that I'm implying any console maker does that. *Cough*
Killzone 2 haters are losing all of their excuses to hate this game. Lol. Can't wait until Feb 2009. I feel sorry for the fanboys who are too loyal and too blind to enjoy such an amazing game only possible on the PS3.
Well, the sad part is that many Guitar Hero "pros" actually view themselves as some sort of musicians, when their button-mashing is the furthest thing from real music. You're matching colored bars on the screen. It's a rhythm game and little more.
Exactly! Why would a system that hasn't even hit 1 million in Japan have so much JRPG support from a Japanese company?!?! It's so retarded.
