What a tasteless article. Video game journalism gets worse by the week. Call me when this "journalism" stops being one big flame war.
Picture this:
You buy GTA5 for the 360. You bring it home. You tear open the wrapping, and what do you see? Three disks.
Every time you switch an island you see the message: "Yo, please switch to disk number 2, homes" and your Avatar will throw out gang signs while you get up from the couch, take out the disk, open the tray, and switch the disks.
I'm sure 360 owners will find a way to defend and spin that, too. Rockstar isn't the first (nor th...
@ Crab
Exactly! Sales numbers are the sole gauge of quality! That's why the best games this year are Mario Kart and Wii Fit!
Keep believing what Microsoft PR brainwashes you to believe.
These kind of "OMG! Multiple disks!" articles are just as bad as "OMG! Mandatory installs!" articles. Both are kind of silly. Many RPGs have come on multiple disks in the past, so I don't see the big deal now.
However, once we start seeing multi-disk FPS, action/adventure, and sports games on the 360, that's when people need to start worrying. It's already bad enough how most single-player campaigns on single-disk 360 games are quite short.
Tie ratio? Is this what developers talk about when they realize their games aren't selling too well?
I'm not sure a "dud" is a fair assessment, but even so, I'm amazed at the industry's about-face when it comes to "duds". The industry LOVES duds! Journalists drool over duds. Okami, the Dreamcast, Beyond Good and Evil, Psychonauts...the list goes on and on. Journalists fawn over these duds and lament the popularity that could have been.
Yet, Sony games are apparently exempt from this treatment.
Lol. Only two out of the ten are exclusives.
It would be fair to compare games that have come out within the same time frame. By the time RE5 comes out, both MGS4 and Uncharted will be a year old.
Instead, compare RE5 to a game like KZ2, and the statement that PS3 exclusives look better than multiplatform games is still accurate.
Actually, if you knew ANYTHING about developing games for consoles, you'd know that processing power is now the king. RAM and GPU certainly help, yet in this regard the PS3 and 360 aren't that much different. The 360's RAM and GPU aren't necessarily better. They're just different. Both the 360 and PS3 have the same basic specs when it comes to GPU and RAM. The major difference is in the processors, and the PS3 beats out the 360 without breaking a sweat.
Hilarious. I wouldn't at all be surprised if he DID write this. :^D
Well, I don't really care what this guy says.
However, I do know that Cliffy B (project lead on the two best-looking games on the 360) said that Gears 2 pushed the 360 to the limits. I'm inclined to believe that.
And I find the "graphics versus gameplay" argument to be hilarious. Fanboys change their tune when it suits them. Remember when Gears 2 came out and everyone was talking about how Gears 2's graphics "murdered" the graphics in Resistance ...
I love how sensitive 360 owners are! You don't even know that I'm a PS3 owner. I could be a Wii or PC fanboy, or maybe I'm even one of those elusive Dreamcast fanboys!
What a joke. You clowns raise your banners and call out your battlecries every time someone bashes the 360. "PS3 fanboy!" you say. I hate to break it to you, but plenty of reasonable people dislike the 360.
When will S-E get their act together?
Wow. Incredible. Yet another landmark title coming only to the PS3.
Haters are running out of excuses...
Hah hah. Omega4 getting all riled up...
You're a fanboy. Plain and simple. You pretend to walk the high road, but anyone with half a brain can see through your farce. Every time I read your posts I laugh at all of the contradictions and slippery half-truths. Just because you have the privilege to post news on this site doesn't somehow cleanse you from fanboyish attitudes. Sadly, it is people like you in positions of video game journalism who are the same way, and that's why we ha...
It's sad that Jenzo gets so many replies. Don't you all know he's a troll? No human being can be THAT illogical.
I'm pretty excited for Borderlands. It's basically the weapon-creation randomness of Diablo but placed within the confined of an open-world, randomly-generated FPS game. That's pretty dang sweet, if you think about it.
^^^^
Yes, look how it turned out: amazing. R2 offers some of the most robust and entertaining online play on the market right now.
Oh, and since people LOVE "Gears 2 vs R2" comparisons, which one has working servers right now?
And statements like this are why you get disagrees:
"The fact that people lash out at a previewer just because he said a bad thing about a game you like is just beyond pathetic"
But of...
Awwww, Judderman.Can't take a joke.
Why are sales so important, anyway? You 360 owners LOVE your sales numbers, don't you? So I guess the Wii is the best console out there? Mario Kart Wii (sitting at a cool 10.5 million sold) is superior to every single 360 game out there? Wii Fit (sitting at a cool 11.5 million sold) is also better than every single 360 game out there?
See how silly it sounds when you go fanboy?
360 fanboys swallow this jizz all the time. If it was a PS3 problem, there would be articles about it every day of the week as further "proof" of how the PS3 is such a horrible console.
Yet, when it comes to the 360 all the hardware problems are tolerated. "Uh, it's under warranty, so it's okay" is the most common excuse.
