Planescape Torment....you aren't a true RPG fan unless you've played that game. One of the best RPGs of all time, and certainly one of the most unique.

Unfortunately, it's because graphical adventures are all but dead. I wouldn't mind a "Zack and Wiki"-style update to the series, though. Z&W gave me hope that those types of games could return. Grim Fandango. Day of the Tentacle. Monkey Island. Heck, I'd even love to see some modern updates on old text adventures such as "A Mind Forever Voyaging". That game is....oh my.

Stardock pretty much gave me my Alpha Centauri substitute: Galactic Civ II.

Typical fanboy response. Where did I once mention the PS3 or even the 360 for that matter? - bubbles for you.

The 1 billion write-off for the RRoD didn't seem to affect Microsoft's gaming division. I don't see why it should be so doom-and-gloom for Sony.

I just feel bad for the low-level people who are going to lose their jobs.

Hardcore gamers have never been the center of the industry. Sometimes you will see a hardcore game or hardcore franchise rise to the top but it's usually the mainstream games that take the prize.

Remember Halo: Combat Evolved? There were far more innovative and "hardcore" shooters on the market at the time. I don't say that to slam Halo, but the game was pretty tame compared to other multiplayer shooters like Tribes 2. Remember Final Fantasy? Go play some other RPGs tha...

X-COM and Star Control need to be on that list. Other than that, good list. I'd love to see Baldur's Gate, Freedom Force, and Homeworld make a comeback. Those games are legendary.

Alan Wake looked pretty interesting when I saw it in 2006 but I'm beginning to doubt that it can remain a relevant and competitive game in 2009/2010 or whenever it comes out.

I just want to see some gameplay footage. I don't care that the developer made Max Payne. They haven't proven their mettle in nearly 8 years. There's no proof that Alan Wake is going to be amazing. It's just hopeful gamers (and some hopeful fanboys) who are hyping up this game.

Mouse support? UT3 had it. Mouse support for this game would definitely make it the definitive version.

Guilty Gear is -- in my opinion seasoned by years of experience since the days of Street Fighter II in the arcade -- the best modern 2D fighter on the market. The complexity is mind-blowing, and when you get a group of skilled GG players in a room, it's just as fun to watch as it is to play.

I'm looking forward to BlazBlue and any other games Arc System Works gives us.

No co-op? Uh oh. Watch this game get a 8/10 and 7/10 because it lacks co-op.....even though everyone was fine with Bioshock lacking co-op.

@ Why dis

Why compare those games? Neither game shows off the graphical power of either system. We might as well compare Super Stardust and Geometry Wars, or Lair and Too Human, or Disgaea 3 and Spectral Force 3, or the PS3 version of Def Jam with the 360 version.

Use some logic.

Thanks for the subjective opinion but sadly that carries no weight in discussion. A console being "so fun to play" does not justify price in an objective manner, therefore we have to go through the crude task of comparing components, in which case the PS3 is the obvious winner.

Oh laughter. You're tired of people saying that MGS4 looks better than anything on the 360? You think it's baloney? Get over it. What makes your opinion more valid than mine? The fact that you own both systems? Don't make me laugh. I own both systems too. Oooooo! Who's opinion are we going to trust now?!?! After all, owning both systems automatically makes you objective in your opinions, right?

You didn't like my comparison? How about you address it? Resis...

Sorry. No matter how many times you expose the circular reasoning of die-hard 360 fanboys, they'll still keep going 'round and 'round in circles.

First they say that 360 has better games.

"Where's your proof?" sensible gamers ask.

Metacritic is the proof, we are told. But then according to Metacritic the PS3 starts to get "better" games.

Oh, but the 360 has better graphics, we are told.

"Where's your pro...

This article is hilarious. PS3 versus 360 two years later? Really? I'll ask 360 owners the very same thing they asked the PS3 when it first came out: where are the games?

Let's be serious here. Where are Microsoft's 1st-party studios? Where are the graphical powerhouses? Where are the industry-changing titles that make the competition jealous?

And the author's little bit about graphics? Oh Lord. Although graphics aren't everything, you'd have to be wearing pretty thi...

Trusting a commitment from Microsoft is only slightly less stupid than believing a prostitute who tells you she's a virgin as you hand her fifty bucks.
