I'm surprised CoD:WaW is still at #1. I didn't think that came was all that great in multiplayer, especially compared to other Live titles like Left 4 Dead or even CoD4.
@ Hiruma
I hate Microsoft, but that doesn't mean I hate the 360's games. As a gamer, that would be silly. I own a 360, by the way, even though I prefer the PS3. I guess it's easier to write someone off as a "fanboy" than to face the facts and respond to their comment, huh?
@ Jenzo
Try WISE_FWOM_YOW_G then. Like I said, I'm no longer a Live member so I'm not sure if that will affect my tag. Can't say I'm surprised that you checked just to see if...
Or it could be the new PS2, since -- if memory serves -- the Emotion Engine wasn't the easiest thing to program for either and Sony was given a lot of grief for the first two years of programming.
On top of that, the Saturn was made by SEGA. Sorry SEGA fans, but SEGA sucked at marketing and driving a product. Sony doesn't. They've sold 10 million a year since launch even at the highest price point. The Saturn didn't even sell 10 million in its four-year lifespan.

I hope this "Halo Studio" doesn't turn the Xbox brand into a one-trick pony. Yes, Sony and Nintendo each have their share of uber-popular brands, but they don't RELY on those brands. Take Gran Turismo from Sony and you still have a dozen others. Take Zelda from Nintendo and you still have a dozen others. Take Halo from Microsoft and you have...what?
I have most of those games (haven't picked up Savage Moon yet) but I'd rather put games like Echochrome, PixelJunk Monsters, Last Guy, and Wipeout HD on my personal list. Super Stardust is...orgasmic. I'm in the top 100 for Bomber suckas...well, I WAS. I haven't played in a while. :^(
I love Valve's games, but I have no respect for their attitude. Left 4 Dead wasn't all that great. If they had given out more than 3 hours worth of game content and upped the textures, I might be more interested in it coming to the PS3, but if you want co-op look no further than Resistance 2 (where the enemies DON'T disappear 2 seconds after you kill them...)
From what I've been hearing, the controls are awesome, which is the sole thing I wanted to hear about this game. Not the biggest fan of Halo, but I'm willing to try out a console RTS since those haven't done very well so far. I might pick it up and give it a chance. With Dawn of War II coming up and good ol' Sins of a Solar Empire still sitting in my disk drive, it's a good time to be an RTS gamer.
No, he meant "passed" in the sense that he wants everyone to give the game a free "pass" because he can't bear to see his favorite dripping-with-nostalgia franchise get a negative opinion slung against it.
Yo dawg I herd you like DLC so we put DLC in yo DLC so you can download while you download.
Again, Killzone 2 is the first that journalists bring this up with. Interesting. I agree that having an "exclusive" review might call into question the site's validity, but there are other thing that might call a review score's validity into question. Things like...oh, and I'm just pulling things out of a hat...$800 swag bags?
I have no idea what she's talking about. I'm a lonely PS3 gamer who does nothing but spend my money on Heavenly Sword action figures and anti-depressants, therefore I wasn't able to experience this game on my PS3...
Yeah. They beat the anti-hype being generated across the board by the media. They beat the disbelief that they could meet the 2005 target render. They beat their reputation for being an average developer who only makes average games. They beat the haters who claimed the game would be all graphics and no gameplay. They beat the naysayers who said 32 player online multiplayer would either be laggy, crappy-looking, or both.
Gotta love the underdog taking everyone to town.
What's that so far? A dozen perfect scores plus another two dozen 90+ scores?
Hmmm? What's that I hear? That's the sound of a game meeting and surpassing the hype.
Okay, yes, the PSP COULD have been the iPhone. Fact is, it isn't, and it's a better gaming platform for that very reason. 44 million PSPs sold worldwide, I might add.
Not that I'm surprised. This article is by Cnet, the very definition of LOL-worthy "news" posts that love to pick apart Sony.

While I applaud your desire to stop any untruthful statements about a game, Gears 2's online was the very definition of unplayable: being unable to enter a match anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes is unplayable, as in, you're not playing! Not to mention the lag, because there were enough laggy game matches for me to take notice. The lag wasn't terrible, but to wait 10+ minutes to enter a match only to be timed out or crippled by slow p2p connection lag isn't my idea of ...
Okay, so they talk about several MMOs that failed on the 360, then they go on to make a blanket statement about ALL console MMOs. Hmmm.
Hate to break it, but Sony is leading the charge on this one. Home is -- in essence -- an MMO, and it's free. The Agency and DC Universe are both made by SOE, and those guys made a little game called "Everquest". Warhawk, Resistance, Resistance 2, and Killzone 2 (if reviews and beta tests are to be believed) are proof that although PSN ...
No real reason. They probably want some arbitrary way to boost their credibility in the eyes of the internet.
LOL. I can't believe they considered a game like Everquest 2 or Killzone to have more hype than GTA4.
It's not like they're saying these games are bad. They're just pointing out the enormous amount of hype. I still think that Halo 3 had more hype than Halo 2, but maybe my memory is fuzzy.
"unparalleled graphics"
Unparalleled: adj, meaning without peer or equal
You heard it here, folks.
@ Jenzo
Considering that I left Live mid-June last year, considering that my gamertag was different than my PSN and various PC tags, and considering that I haven't connected my 360 to the internet since....mid-June last year, you'll accept my "pardon me" for not remembering it. It was something like WISE_FWOM_YOW_G.
But I really don't owe you any explanation. I'm giving it as a courtesy. Even if you DID find my gamertag, it's not going to change your perce...
