at least based upon the general consensus so far. At least with a faceplate, you can always remove it when it gets tiresome or something new comes along.
Personally I don't think it looks too bad, just somewhat bland for something the scale of Halo 3. I think there should be some very artistic designs to more accurately reflect the game itself.
I think some people may be disappointed in that it doesn't look completely realistic, but we've gotta remember...these game are expressions of the developers themselves, so I'll just chalk it up to the art style, which I'm really digging at the moment. The lighting looks crazy in the jungle there, and Master Chief looks damn good himself.
For what it is, it's great IMO.
although it's very disappointing that it's a no-show for this years E3...I'm sure it will be as stellar as always, though.
NBA 2K8? 7 was brilliant, and honestly with the big improvements they made over 2K6 alone I've been dying to see a smidgen of what the next installment has to offer since day 1.
That statement I made was meant as a compliment to the talent of the developers...I don't know how(or why, for that matter) you decided to interpret it as some sort of fuel for this "console war" business.
I'll say it again, the screen looks outstanding.
Looks like they've got some talented artists on this team. Reminds me of the Getaway tech demo from a while back. Hopefully it's real-time.
of getting some PREMIUM games for download. By that I mean things like this, Tekken and Warhawk, which could EASILY have been exclusively released on disc-based media.
Bodes well for the future, as dev teams can make smaller, fun AAA games without having to flesh it out beyond the original intention just for the sake of a disc. I wonder what we'll see next year.
and I do still own and LOVE NFL 2K5 by the way, remember I'm a 2K head myself. 2K5 is a stellar game and IMO was the BENCHMARK for what a football game should be.
WAS.
That was three years ago.
My beef with 2K8 is that it doesn't look to be making the next-gen leap, ESPECIALLY with a three year hiatus. Wouldn't you agree that those three years should have given them the edge they needed to put forth something truly spectacular? All I'm seeing is ...
and I'd like to think it's for good reason, but I'm not even gonna kid myself here...BOTH of these games look sub-par. With Madden on it's third next-gen release, it should have player models like FNR3 or better, and same with 2K.
I understand that this is their first outing, but they've been on hiatus enough so that they should have been able to figure out the technology of both these machines by now. I think these games look decent, and I'm pretty disappointed. Nitpick at the...
but they also would like to cut their losses a bit I'm sure...I wouldn't expect a price drop until at LEAST next summer/fall. I'll go with typo on this one.
Those three titles all look fantastic and offer 3 completely different playstyles.
This fall can't come soon enough...I can't wait to play this game.
The word EPIC just pops out at you upon seeing new vids and screenshots.
If I see it in my area I'll pick it up, but does anyone agree that these differences in most of these multi-platform games are so minimal as to not have a strong impact regardless of what platform you're playing on? It seems that the worst of the ports and multiplats have passed, and developers are starting to lock on much more efficient methods of coding for both machines.
I won't even comment on which looks better, because the game just looks flat out good, and that's the mos...
...some of the best visuals I've seen, bar-none. I'll keep an eye on this one.
especially with the plethora of multiplatform titles on the horizon and the install bases only growing, one has to wonder if people will start playing multiplats online via PS3 just because it's free. Those that have both systems anyway.
I'm sure Live is a good service, but I do agree with several people that there should be a lot more "free" content with a Gold subscription...as paying $50.00 just to buy content seems a little iffy to me.
You know what...
THIS if the FPS I've been waiting for...gritty, frantic, edge of your seat, yet still TACTICAL action.
Only the second video I've seen of this game...I'm SOLD without question. What's the release date?
I think something like this can bring some intelligent and civilized debate to the table, rather than the fanboy pissing contests we've seen around here for far too long.
On the other hand, I'm sick of seeing pro-sony, pro-MS propaganda under the pretense of "news" for the simple purpose of inflating one sides ego's and slinging mud at the other. I've said it before and I'll say it again, everyone in this place, including myself would do well with a little more civili...
My experience with the game was limited, but all I hear from people that actually gave it a chance was that it was pretty good...and damn hard at that.
Honestly, the only people I see denouncing KZ are those that either hate Sony or just looked at the reviews(which weren't a bad average anyway, at 7.3?).
You're absolutely right about why it did fall short exactly...is because the PS2 simply didn't have the horsepower couple with the devs not knowing how to optimi...
"why it is that people have such high hopes for this game, the first was so horrible."
1. The first game was a multi-million seller despite having such glaring flaws. That tells me that EVEN IN SPITE of said flaws, there was most definitely a good game there somewhere.
2. Dev team has increased to upwards of 120 developers, and Guerrilla is now wholly owned by Sony. First party perks always include knowing the ins and outs of your hardware better than t...
This game has been in development for three years already, man...and if it doesn't get released until next year, then that'll be a 4 year project...nearly half a decade, what on Earth are you talking about? Since when was 3 or 4 years dev time RUSHING?
that I might buy a 360 for, sounds very promising from what I just read, and the graphics are easily some of the best I have ever seen for any platform. Bioware's done well in the past, so this bodes well for the game I think.
