I would advise registering your PS3 at Playstation Underground, at least based on what happened with the Home Beta.
There's no reason we should be seeing first-party titles looking like this when games with the way 3rd party games such as Ratchet, Uncharted, and Final Fantasy are looking, period.

I think it's safe to say that a difference of this magnitude is just unprecedented when comparing consoles of the same generation. No matter how much I've heard people nitpick about the multi-platform title differences...there has yet to be anything near this extreme. As a PS3 fan, this would be good news, and I would like to believe it...although it's entirely too far-fetched.
If this were the case, they may as well just make one version all together.
I was worried that this gen would get flooded with too many shooters/militaristic games(and still am to a degree), and forget all about RPG's, but they seem to be slowly coming out of the woodwork. All I need now is a new Tales game and I'm set. Looks like this, FFXIII, and White Knight will all be stellar RPG's. Let's just hope looks don't deceive us all this time.

While I still like Namco myself, I think that one of their BIGGEST mistakes was getting rid of Monolith...who was one powerhouse of a dev team if you ask me, Xeno or not.
let's all remember that this is just a rumor. If you notice, Sony has been a lot more careful this time around with their press releases on Playstation related features. It seems that unlike the several promises during the PS2 era, everything that is being formally announced for the PS3 will see the light of day. I think this is due to the fact that Sony has only been revealing said features after they have been in development for some time.

I don't know if 2K can catch them in the graphics department this time around...it seems like they were pressed for time just making the PS3 version of 2K7. At any rate, I just hope the gameplay is as good as these graphics are...I've been playing 2K since '03 and haven't looked back since, but these shots had me doing a double-take. We'll see how it turns out.

looking very good, and hopefully this puts to rest all of the drivel about the videos we've seen being final product...Bungie is quite obviously doing their homework this time around. Not the biggest Halo fan...but I'll give credit where it's due, and this deserves it.
Although I must admit...this leaves me with the sour grapes in that I was really hoping to see the next Xenosaga on PS3 in all it's 1080p(hopefully) glory...not that I can't get a Wii or anything, just somewhat disappointing.
The other side to that coin though, is that apparently Namco wasn't investing in Xenosaga anymore, and hopefully under a new parent company, Monolith can continue to work on that brilliant series...but again...here's to hoping.
I must commend Sony on all of these cool extras. This, PS EYE, Home, etc. are all fantastic additions to the PS3, and some sound like a great way to bridge the gap between the hardcore and casual gamer. I remember the days when chatting on the internet through IM's was considered uncool, and now everyone from the average Joe to musical artists have a Myspace page...it would be interesting to see if these extra features bring larger crowds to the gaming arena, but at any rate, these all sound ...

I've never gotten tired of the game, EVER. Only reason I've stopped playing it the several occasions I have are because friends quit, or I had certain obligations. Can't play now because I lag way too much on the Korean servers(only ones I can access here from Japan), so I'm stuck...Warcraft 3 works, but I did actually get bored of that game though.
With that said, the next Starcraft RTS has almost too much to live up to. I wouldn't consider myself a diehard...
1. Officially, they said it was post-poned indefinitely(they were having troubles settling on a developer).
2. Through the grapevine I've heard that although the above IS true, that yes, they may be trying to focus on a next-gen platform.

As far as SC2 goes...it's about time, nearly a decade later. If the announcement is coming soon(although I really doubt it...I feel Blizzard gave up on this universe), then maybe we can expect the game within 24 months. Hopefully anyway.
I actually agree that PS3 fans wouldn't care if Blu-Ray wasn't in the PS3, because as gamers we've more or less been trained to "take what we get", so to speak. If you think about it, other systems that could have used DVD's or CD's previously(I'm looking at you, Nintendo) haven't and those particular systems turned out just fine. With that said, you can't honestly say that the advantage Blu-Ray provides is meaningless.
Also, Somehow I doubt that if the $250 Wii isn't...

most likely because it was too buggy and incomplete to bother porting to the PS3. This gave them the opportunity to start work on '08 a bit earlier, and this might give them a leg-up on 2K this year...the first screens looked stunning.
My money's still on 2K though...I can't really imagine Live redeeming themselves anytime soon.
