Were the Japanese impressed with E3, or is Hot Shots a system seller? Either way, good news.
I certainly hope that it's MUCH more expansive than before. I actually did think that GoW was pretty "free" for as linear as it was, but I'd like for them to expand upon the levels by an order of magnitude(well...almost).
I'd still like for them to keep distinct levels, I'm not asking for an adventure title ala Zelda(although that would be a good idea to branch the series off in a new direction, imagine Kratos endowing a herald with some of his abilities, tasking him ...
If it is, I wouldn't expect another GT game for the remainder of this generation then...as I would expect PD to hire another 500 or so employees working 24/7/365....and it might be done in 5 years or so.
Didn't someone say it takes a month for ONE person to complete a car?
I believe that was just the model too, programming must be a bear.
please, just try something new already. Sure, Madden improves by small margins every year, but just like the Live series, but lately these improvements are usually GIMMICKS that don't make it past the next one or two games. How long did Live's Freestyle control last? Does ANYONE like the "vision cone"?
Weapons are a huge, LEGIT, sensible improvement, and there's a form of them in APF as well, so I expect that to stay, and would like them to, unless they prove unbalanc...
This is the next Oblivion...I remember the rumors that would NEVER die until it just happened, with a PSP version to boot.
Who knows, but I don't even care for this anymore(still care for the game...day one purchase), this rumor won't die until it either happens or people stop caring after a year or two.
If this site had "sigs" for this comment system, this quote would be mine. Wholeheartedly agreed. Too many individuals tout reviews as if they were ammunition, and then there are those who are governed by those reviews...pity, you miss out on things that you may have liked otherwise.
I don't care what anyone says, I loved Transformers and Fantastic Four RotSS this year, and all I heard was horrible things about both movies from critics, and even many co-workers.
It seems the trend is a love it or hate it theme with the motion controls...which doesn't sound too unfamiliar to the MOUSE & KB vs ANALOG STICKS war that goes on between console and PC purists, for FPS games anyway.
It all makes sense now, to me anyway. In every preview I've read, the theme was alluded to somewhat, but was usually an afterthought, as most people wrote it off as either comfortable or fixable by release. In any case, all previews I read were positive about t...
The game itself being bad doesn't necessarily mean that the PS3 doesn't have any muscle, it simply means what it means...an average game. Personally I think it still looks awesome, but that's just me. This jumping to conclusions is foolish, as is the army of folks here up in arms over these guys' opinions, but I digress.
Lair is still a technical showcase for the PS3. Saying the PS3 is weak because you don't like the game is like saying that the 360 has a weak GPU because you d...
I know friends of mine and co-workers get annoyed by my quoting the Matrix every now and then(half the time for no good reason), so believe me, I can relate.
To quote 300, "This is madness!"
Really though, I think we're all getting a bit too worked up over this, but it has produced some pretty humorous posts. Rio Hustla had me rolling(not that I condone that sort of behavior, it's still funny nonetheless).
This looks to be one of those that garners mixed reviews, but you know what? I PREDICTED this(not on the internet, just personally).
I always thought that this would strictly be a LOVE IT or...
I thought the motion controls in Warhawk were spot on, they just needed a bit of sensitivity tweaking, like any FPS game does.
I wouldn't say it's annoying or even difficult, it's just different, and nobody is used to this just yet. I think anyone who had hands on time with the Warhawk beta and ENJOYED it just might dig Lair as well.
If I find that the controls aren't to my liking, then it's off to the options menu for me. Game looks fantastic, and I've been look...
One of the may things that stuck out was your comment on the HDD.
I also thought that was one of the best features of the original XBox as well. I honestly didn't see the need for one until I saw how well it was implemented...by the piracy.
With that said, I think one of the reasons for no standard HDD was the piracy that ran RAMPANT on the original box, because I knew enough people that had them with several games and emulators stored on their HDD's.

There was no asking studios what a game machine should be, as 256 MB was the original plan, yet it was Epic who PLEADED, not casually suggested that they up it to 512.
I suppose you don't remember the Microsoft exec saying that Epic cost them nearly 1 billion dollars as a result. It did work out though, and it was ultimately the right choice, but please don't try to spin this as some sort of saintly Microsoft crusade for harmonious gaming...thank you.
Hell, if it...
If this is in fact the case, then we can potentially see some very lush and brilliant environments from this game in the future. I certainly hope so, because admittedly, the color palette disturbed me about this game and GeoW both.
It doesn't necessarily take away form the gameplay experience per se, but I value atmosphere in my entertainment these days, and games lose points for me with things like this. I can appreciate a particular art direction, but something like an all gr...
One thing that sticks out in my mind is when Epic commented on Stranglehold being one of those games that was chugging along well with their engine, but now there's been a delay...
I'm not saying that's the definitive reason, I'm just wondering if it does have something to do with it.
In any case...I'm not holding my breath for this one. It does look good, but in all honesty, the HD Hard Boiled is the biggest incentive for me. Could be good though, I suppose I'll...
Now it just looks stunning, and in such a short amount of time.
Sony has one Hell of a team of engineers, and this certainly bodes well for other games with a short amount of dev time until release(ahem, Killzone).
Anyway, this gets me wondering if they will continue to update the design and graphics of Home throughout the lifetime of the PS3. If they did that, I can't even imagine how stellar it would look by the end of PS3's run. We may have visual quality riva...
and it's no longer recognized as the big game show of the year anymore. I think that title may belong to Leipzig(sic) now anyway, but then again, I suppose that remains to be seen.
In all honesty, Microsoft seems to have left quite a bit out of E3, if not intentionally for game shows later in the year such and the Leipzig convention. Two of Sony's biggest guns were shown in all their glory at E3 in KZ2 and MGS, and I honestly can't think of anything but the Getaway matching it'...
Nah, sorry, memory's hazy on this one. Good observation though. In any case...I really wanna get my hands on this game. In all honesty, I'll BEG for a delay if it means surpassing the trailer completely(it has in some areas, not even close in others).
No halo-killer stigma this time around, so hopefully this gem can shine in it's own light next year. My thing is, I'm having a hard time swallowing the thought that they'll be done with this by February looking better than E3 '05....
If that is what you're speaking of, what's the relation to Killzone?
It's really a matter of personal preference.
If you're not comfortable with motion control, then you just flat out won't like it, and that's that.
If you are, there's a good chance that this game will be a blast.
Think about M/KB vs analog sticks. Gamers are divided on that issue on a much larger scale, which supports my stance that it's not a myth...
I think I'll at least enjoy this game, because I loved the Hell out of the Warhawk ...
