it's more likely to come out late 2008 than any other time I'm afraid.

that's an interesting point...and based upon what we've seen with the PS2, it could be rationalized with.

That depends though, on whether or not the PS3 sees the same sort of success. I think the biggest contributor to that though, lies with Microsoft and Ninty killing of their previous offerings before Sony ever thought to do so. That effectively left Sony as the de facto bargain bin gaming machine. If it works out that way this time around, and the PS3 is competing(sales wis...

Neither company will risk the others cutting into their potential user base that much. We already saw it happen this year. It's no secret that the PS3 wasn't ready when it launched. Then again, neither was the 360, but that's business. As far as I'm concerned, the Wii was the only one that was ready. They are more poised than anyone else to deliver the next system IMO.

I see you quoting scores, ratings, and averages quite often as if they're some sort of concrete statistic.

You say that is if some so called professional opinion should matter more than ones own personal experience. Sounds a bit backwards if you ask me.

Do you play games, or just the scores game? Do you come here for the news, or to brag about all of the games that the whole world loves for you? Tell me why should someone else deciding a game is good or great mea...

Good to see that strides are being made. This should keep NT on their toes, despite being in different genres. :D

I hope there are some more dynamic differences with weapons and the three races/species.

Firstly, I hope weight and recoil play more a part in what weapons you use.

Another thing I'd like to see is more differentiation with the weapons. They were originaly in concept, but not too much in execution. They were all basically different ways to do varying amounts of damage. There weren't any status effects, nothing to warp or affect the atmosphere or surroundings, not...

Doesnt seem as though they'd have anything to gain from dropping the 360 version that's been planned for what...the past year...? Who knows, just my opinion.

At least we understand where we are this time.

6702d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

but let ME worry about that, as it's of no consequence to you yourself.

As for the 2005 trailer, the game was still in concept stages back then. The devs themselves even said "that's what we're supposed to do?" upon seeing that trailer. Raw development time has been about 2 years itself. A long time, yes, but it's hard to argue with what's been achieved.

Interpreting what I said as me being glad about it is what you did, when such is not the case. I mea...

It has nothing to do with fanboy-related extremism, but if you choose to be narrow-minded and believe that, then that's your problem. Ever hear of Blizzard entertainment? They're NOTORIOUS for their delayed games, often times coming out well over a year than what was projected. They're my favorite company for a reason. IMO, they have yet to put out a sub-par unrefined game. I admit I don't like WoW, but it is a spectacle of an MMO.

Secondly, the game is reportedly not even in i...

I wouldn't even go so far as to say that. The people it would matter the most to are the fanboys, as that would just result in yet another tumultuous session of mudslinging, complete with 1200 degrees and over 300 comments.

IMO, to be earth-shattering it would have to do just that, shake up the ENTIRE gaming community, not just the ones in a bitter pissing contest with one another.

Grow up...really, you should try it some time.

Does it ever get old? Really, does the fanboy crap ever get old? Does it make you feel somehow big? Never mind...don't bother answering that, I'm afraid I may get the response I'm expecting.

6702d ago 0 agree2 disagreeView comment

just to prove a point. Capcom, as much as I love an innumerable amount of their franchises, has nothing that could be considered earth-shattering..nothing. The only thing that would come close is them starting a new console, and all signs point to no on that one.

From what I saw 2 years ago and within the last few months, this is one title that deserves to be nurtured with time, resources, and money.

I want this game to be fully realized, anything less will be a disappointment. It's a good thing that Sony realizes it this time around, hopefully none of the shortcomings from the first game will befall this one.

a result of the design and he's spouting quotes like "it's irrelevant". Are you trying to tell me that something that has the inherent potential of failure actually IS irrelevant? Try pitching that idea in the business world. You'll go far, kiddo, believe me. :smirks:

You're thinking of Rag-doll Kung-fu for PC, that was MM's claim to fame before LBP.

The RRoD is a problem inherent to the design of the 360. Every 360 is a potential RRoD. I'd say that's very relevant.

If it were some off-chance manufacturing defect, then maybe, but every 360 out now, save for maybe the Falcon redesigns, could potentially fold.

and easily one of the best adventure RPGs I've played in some time. Never played 2 though, wish I would have.

2K8 us awesome, but the engine largely feels the same as the PS2 edition, and the many glitches that carried over tell me that. I'd like to see physics, weight, and momentum play more of a role than canned animations. Great game nonetheless, but I could see it getting old in the years to come.

I had a disc read error with my PS2 a long time ago, and I sent it back to Sony to get fixed.

Like it or not, we've got an expensive hobby, and once you're about 6-7 games deep with several peripherals, that's not exactly the easiest thing to let go of. What I do think is foolish would be to continuously buy a $400 console that's broken on you several times, but sending it in for a free repair, although aggravating, doesn't make you a "fiend".
