I agree with you though. I'll be keeping a thumb on my kids, that's for sure. Not even necessarily in a harsh way either, I'll just be sure to nurture them. When I do have to drop the hammer though, I'll do so. My offspring will most definitely have a sense of consequence about them.
Anyway, if people would just realize that they have the most presence in their childrens lives than anyone else's, maybe a difference could be made, but I guess it's easier to sit back, watch your ...
I just kinda wish I didn't buy Warhawk to get it. :(
but how do know all of this? Excuse my skepticism, but most of the apocryphal hearsay floating around here usually gets debunked one way or another.
"I am not a role model, I will not raise your children for you."
That's one of the problems with people today. It's entirely too easy to pawn off responsibility elsewhere and act like the victim. It all comes down to just being proactive about things. Find out what you can do first before knocking down someone else's door.
As far as who/what get's zeroed in on, it's all trendy, and foolishly at that. It used to be Marilyn Manson, then it was Bill Clinto...
right of first refusal on Bungie's future IPs though?
crew. My goodness that's gargantuan.
I am absolutely SICK to my STOMACH with the shoddy hit reaction in games today. If I jab someone doing a round kick, there's no reason their kick should magically disappear and revert to some canned hit animation, no reason AT ALL. That's on of the standout things about FNR3, is that when you hit someone, it registers as it should. If you interrupt someone else's attack, their momentum still carries them through their attack, they will either just miss you, or do less damage. THAT'S THE WAY IT...
Said this yesterday I think. Stuff like this is becoming all too predictable these days...who starts these rumors?
Personally I hate the Age of Empire series, but I know there are millions that adore it. They should jumpstart some new entries in the series for the 360, maybe add a mouse peripheral or something, voice commands, I don't know.
Heck, create an action adventure/rpg spin-off. There's other outlets out there. Besides, if what I hear is true, they've still got the rights to publish Bungie created material, so all is not lost there.
I think Cali was just trying to point out the hypocrisy within many peoples statements, negating some of their foolish comments.
Anyway, as far as following a track record, you're absolutely right, and I agree. A track record and past performance is important, because it is certainly indicative of what COULD happen, but latching onto that past is just as foolhardy as those that disregard the past and are blindly optimistic to the future.
Like Cali said, Halo 3 ap...
but I absolutely hate the ground, rock, and wall textures. They look like watercolor smear jobs from Hell. Everything else looks great, but those lopsided walls and surfaces cripple the overall feel. I hope there's a lot of jungle play, because the shrubbery looks fantastic.
The people seem to come apart as if they were made of Styrofoam, or their limbs were sandbags(read: BLOODBAGS)connected by weak knots or something.
Anyway, like I said it looks like loads of fun regardless, as I've never played something like this and I think I'd enjoy it. It does look a bit gimmicky though, but fun regardless.
Quoting another opinion as if by reflex. Honest question, non-inflammatory. Do you ever formulate your own opinions BEFORE reading that of another?
I've got a challenge for you, seriously. For the next two weeks don't quote a single journalist, score, publication, group, site, or anything of the sort. If you have something to say, why not tell us what you think instead of what E3 thinks?
EDIT: Wow, that was your attempt at justifying being a corporate sheep? Tha...
plays second fiddle if the combat itself is largely the same, and that ugly little juggling clip told that tale accurately enough for me.
I'm sick of seeing fighters with that floaty, garbage collision detection. Somebody needs to knuckle up and implement sensible(not necessarily too realistic, just something that makes sense) collision detection in a game. I love Tekken and VF, and I have for over a decade now, but it's getting old seeing a jab take precedence over a lunging, ...
If it isn't debunked within that time frame, then I think that it could either be true, or they're juggling the idea.
I still doubt it, just a crazy theory.
but I also think it's fair to assume that many of us hope that the beauty will shine through to other aspects of the game as well. As excited as I am I guess I can only wait and see though, but here's to hoping.
@below:
Nah, there isn't, as we're only human after all, we just shouldn't take it as far as it tends to get from time to time.
I just want a good game in my eyes, no one else's. If the whole world hates Killzone 2 and I love it, then guess what...GG has done their job.
I still don't understand why people hold another's opinion on a pedestal above their own. I like hearing the opinions of others, it makes for good debate, but to the end user, there's nothing like hands on experience. Would you rather play Halo 3, or watch someone else beat it for you?
With that said, it's an entirely diff...
but Crysis sure comes to mind. In all honesty though, Crysis, for the level of graphical fidelity it has, looks a bit static in the sense of suspense, grittiness, and immersion. It looks great, no doubt, and I loved that trailer from GDC showcasing the plethora of tech and effects, but I think the art style and feel of KZ2 is miles above Crysis.
So in short, I think Crysis...a game being tailored to high-end PC's is the only thing comparable to Killzone 2 FROM A GRAPHICAL STAND...
look much more visceral than the 05 one, but I must admit, the only thing I envy from the '05 trailer was the texture quality. It's quite simply on a different level than what we have now, so are the particle effects, fire, and explosions for that matter.
Everything else though...rips into that '05 trailer, and harshly at that. I really hope they get the textures up to speed, along with the rest of course...b/c that trailer from 2 years ago still makes my eyes bleed.
On another note, when the Hell is Shiny gonna bring back Earthworm Jim?
