"Second to none" "Best ever" "unparalleled" etc. are used very loosely these days.
Hell, I've run into several individuals that use the term "literally" when they really DON'T mean what they say in a literal sense.
"That ice cream is to die for! Literally!"
Sure...
Not a bad thing, but that's the first thing that came to mind when I saw that. Looks great, too.
To the rest of you now...grow up, please. I'm sorry for having a different POV than you about your precious gem. I own the bloody game, played in the beta, so most likely have much more experience with it than those of you who like to shoot off at the mouth.
I find it funny how when someone simply has a different experience they just MUST be a liar, or "suck" at something. Rofl, some of you need to take a critical thinking class or something...might help you identify ...
Enjoy the game. Who cares.
but I've stood stationary and just moved the reticule around and noticed that it continues moving a bit after I've completely let up off the analog stick. It's very distinct, and I knew it wasn't just me. I admit I suck at the on-foot combat, but it still remains that the aiming is loose...for me anyway, and it greatly discourages my from adapting to it.
I love a good dogfight though. Like I said, I didn't give up on the game. That's part of what makes it so good, there's somet...
The on-foot combat SUCKS. This game desperately needs some people who can code this aspect better, because the aiming, regardless of sensitivity, is entirely too loose to be manageable, for my tastes anyway. The game absolutely needs tighter control. The Warhawks themselves are brilliant...but again, when you're not aiming.
The hover mode is essentially nullified as a result of the dreadful aiming system. Easily the most crippling factor of the game.
I haven't pl...
and get a laughable sequel from a development team that had nothing to do with the original.
First of all let it be known that Gamespot SUCKS at comparisons IMO.
Secondly, the Halo 1 and 2 shots appear to be low resolution shots that were stretched and skewed. Just my observation, don't kill me.
I don't remember Halo 2 looking so horrendous. I played the game enough times throughout last year, but then again I just had LAN parties, the campaign didn't interest me. Moving on.
Improvements:
Lighting is the biggest one, and I t...
How about why isn't there Touchsense?
I couldn't care less about the blasted thing now, it's got the same old rumble thats annoyed me for the better part of a decade, with :gasp: all new independent motors!
Fantastic...but I'll pass. Sorry, but the idea of the left handle shaking my arm numb doesn't appeal to me that much.
I suppose I only have myself to blame though. They never did promise anything about Touchsense. This is what happens when you g...
The demo was decent...but that's about it. From what I gather, there's two very glaringly obvious and very conflicting aspects at work here.
1. The team has some raw talent and admirable vision. From things like Free6, player faces, commentary, The Life, player progression and the like, these guys have made it's evident that they're not out to just make a run of the mill basketball game.
2. SONY, on the other hand, is reluctant to put forth the money, resources, ...
That's rich. How can you have a beta when the game supposedly hasn't hit alpha status?
What did they expect us to play with, wireframes?
Someone needs to revisit the old think tank before they speak(type).
Everything else sounds perfectly viable, but the Killzone thing is way out of left field. What's next, The Getaway goes gold?
because they're the only ones having fun with their system and are content with it.
The first person to say something along the lines of "yeah right, Wii sucks!" is evidence enough of that.
PS3 vs 360 reigns supreme on this site, and the bickering and angst between the followers of both consoles tells me that they're not satisfied. If they were, WHO CARES what someone else says.
I'm a PS3 owner and fan myself, and I'll admit, I wish, from...
take any of this business personally. It's the ones who try to make it personal is who I have a problem with, and it's not even that serious tbh. I spend no more time thinking of the goings on of this site than I do when I make such a post, make no mistake about it.
Anyway, in regards to critiques...putting one's homophobic nature on display by calling something gay or saying things arbitrarily suck is hardly a critique. You know as well as I do what these folks are trying to d...
How when something new comes along that doesn't appeal to one person, it's given an arbitrary label. A community driven/related service at that.
Yet at the same time, some of these people tout community related stats such as sales, attach rates, game libraries, online service, etc.
Brilliant, no? All of you hypocrites need to shove it. Half of the stuff you brag about you'll probably never give a try yourself, it's just your way of fanning the flames.

If Ebert doesn't consider games art, great, that's his opinion. I hardly see how the opinion of a so called professional is any more valid than anyone elses.
I will say this though, I consider it an insult to the hard work of the developers to dismiss the notion that anyone else could consider their work as art.
You don't think it's art, fine. But don't dare tell me what I can or can't interpret it as.
Couldn't resist, right? Nothing more constructive to say?
EDIT: And that's where you're wrong. See my post above for what I think.
how long it will take before the usual suspects come in and try to derail the good news?
@ Lightning, I hope you're right...it's getting old by now. It still remains to be seen though. This sort of thing seems ripe for the pre-pubescents to run rampant with their standard homophobic quips.
@ First Knight, I do admit, it is pretty humorous, but regardless, I can see where some people might value something like this. Personally I think I'll just stick to whatever ...
sales wise. I can't even imagine how much it would sell. This is just a new game with the moniker, but a remake of the classic itself would surely shatter some records.
It's amazing, if you skim through FFVII topics on some boards, there's some people that have never played the original but for some reason want and would buy a remake in a heartbeat.
That's legendary.
Nothing big has ever come when it's announced "something big is coming, stay tuned!"
Only times I've ever heard big announcements, is when they were unexpected.
e.g. LBP, Home, PS Eye, etc.
I won't be getting my hopes up. Do I want it to be something big? Yep, it can never hurt, but I'll attribute this to hype.
FFVII didn't only sell millions in Japan, you know. I specifically remember commercials for all three chronological FF games on the PS1(note: that means no tactics). They've been doing this for over a decade, nothing new.
