With all respect to your opinion, I beg to differ. Commercial success /= individual merit or eminence. Look at Madden, for instance.

For the record though, I don't think LP is a bad game, just average.

when you consider their track record. Then again, having a good track record doesn't mean you should get a free pass at being a complete ass. Look at Gabe Newell.

Anyway, give me good games first, then you might have some legs to stand on. I'm not even impressed by Army of Two anymore. Somehow, the game has looked progressively worse and worse over the course of the past year. The one and only game from them I'm looking forward to is something that hasn't even been announced - ...

Warhawk isn't AAA. I'm not being an ass, I genuinely feel that way. Although Warhawk is nice and varied(air combat is admittedly second to none), it heavily lacks refinement. It's good, and gets a thumbs up in my book, but is decidedly not a killer app.

As a multiplayer experience, I wholly prefer Resistance. I do love Warhawks premise though, and I think it DESERVES a sequel. If they decide to keep it MP only or w/ SP next time then I at least hope they stick to their guns, be...

With the runaway success that CG movies have enjoyed as of late, Ratchet is primed for a positive reception and unprecedented MASS appeal. It's good to know that they're capitalizing on this, because Sony's marketing has been poor if you ask me. The wheels are turning though, slowly, but they're definitely accelerating.

how the game turns out that is. Multiplat or not I'm not gonna get my hopes up. Final Fight streetwise was a terrible blunder, so just because it carries an old name doesn't mean instant success anymore. Development is an entirely different beast these days. I'm indifferent. Not too optimistic, not too pessimistic. I admit, the name has it on my radar, but with no screens, media, or details, that's all it is to me at the moment, a name.

for a relatively new game, the game itself just feels rather dated. I know, I know, other exclusives such as Oblivion showed up later on PS3, but in the case of that game, it was and still is in a class of it's own and immeasurably deep. A contemporary classic for sure...Lost Planet is just not that.

I wouldn't see myself picking it up even back in July, up against RB6, Splinter Cell, and Motorstorm, so I agree with the point about next year when many of the heavy hitters will...

They even seem to have shifted gears in many ways. Before, flagship series were Megaman, SF, and Resident Evil. Dino Crisis was apparently a good compliment as well(never played it). We also had the equally stellar crossover series of games, but now things seem a bit different.

I can't say I was disappointed with Lost Planet per se, as I wasn't anticipating the game...at all, but I was disappointed because the production quality as I said just didn't quite have the Capcom touch...

but when it comes to aiming, mice and pointing devices are the grand daddy indeed. I wouldn't consider myself particularly adept, and even I can aim at things that I'm not looking directly at with frightening speed and accuracy with a mouse. Add to that the flexibility to freely dictate your speed and you've got a recipe for success. Let's not even get into laser mice.

Personally, I value aiming much more so than I do movement, and it's for that reason that I'd pick KB/M over s...

I tend to forget some things like that, maybe because they're just too preposterous to bother giving much though. Right back at ya about the good memory. Lots of laughs indeed...I hope someone is archiving this stuff.

"Most ridiculously inflammatory assumptions" absolutely NEEDS to be a superlative by the end of this generation. It'd be sure to bring the laughs in droves.

how many of the original developers are still on board from the Street Fighter team? I think Capcom is a great studio and all, but I really don't know what to expect from this. Excuse me for not putting blind faith into a name and legacy, but I've got the pre-cautionary mindset when it comes to this one. I certainly hope it's better than before, but who knows.

Why on earth have they waited so long? If the studio is comprised of mostly new talent, then I hope that talent is pret...

but I'm sad to say the he's very much DEAD, my friend.

The last chronological game we'll ever see him in is Alpha 3, which was a prequel to the original 2 anyway. Unless of course, they decide to do more prequels, but I doubt it. If this is coming 10 years after 3...I'm expecting a '2nd Impact' and '3rd Strike' type of trilogy for this game also.

but it could use some color, and I think maybe a spherical wire-frame added to the globe would be a nice touch.

Cool news I suppose...at least it gives the PSN a bit more of an identity.

Sounds like an anthology that would take me about 2 months to finish. The series has always seemed worth it though. I'd like a good stealth game to play, and Splinter Cell never really did it for me. I can see the good production quality of the franchise, I just never enjoyed it much.

Thanks for the info.

died with the disaster that was MK4. What on EARTH were they thinking? 3 was classic, 4 was an utter disaster, and they haven't recovered since...IMO MK's biggest blows have been to themselves. There isn't much room for Capcom to bury them further if you ask me. At least whatever they offer next can presumably just be better.

At the end of God of War 3 we'll see a clip of Kratos sealing himself of in an eternal sleep...

Upon beating Gears of War 2, we'll see Marcus Fenix approaching a chamber about to do the same thing, but beforehand we see him grab the Athena's Blades and realize that he's the future version of KRATOS!!!

I can dream after all...

Does anyone know if the Metal Gear Solid collection is to be released or what? I've never played any of these games, but I've always wanted to. I suppose the only thing stopping me was myself, but in any case, I figured that would be the most convenient(not to mention cost effective) way to play through the entire series.

I'd like to see hi-res anime quality characters and maybe cel-shaded 3D backgrounds. That's it. Make the gameplay good of course and we're golden.

but for most PC-centric games, a mouse and keyboard will be superior. RTS and FPS remain the PC's domain, at least until consoles start becoming packaged with mice and KBs.

The gap is only widening with the precision of laser mice lately, for that matter.

They can work though, just not as well is all I'm saying. In any case, where there's a will there's a way.

@ Nostradavis

Ain't that the truth.

Well...so much for anything on consoles looking close to PC. Sorry Killzone 2, I'm looking forward to it and all...but DAMN, this is just incredible. Pre-alpha, nice work indeed.
