get the PS2 engine running on PS3? For a test or demo run, right? I would find it hard to imagine them NOT creating an engine from the ground up for this one...
Never liked Def Jam, but FNR3 was awesome. Too bad, I was heavily anticipating 4.
interesting, to say the least.
One less thing to ignite flame wars. Now all we need is to do away with screen and video comparisons. Do that crap on your own time if it's really so important to you.
In that respect, I agree.
Hate to say that for BOTH of them.
I grew up loving Sonic. Swore on my life that Sonic>Mario. I begrudgingly say that Mario truly owns him now. Heck, Conker owns Sonic these days. Thing is, every and anything Sonic for the past 7 years or so has been crap. I hate to say it, but that's just the way I see it. The character has not proven that it had staying power.
Kratos hasn't had a misstep yet...but hasn't been around for nearly long enough. GoW is easily amon...
one of the best looking games I've seen. I need to play this.
You reap what you sow...if you can't take the heat, then GTFO of the kitchen.
Garbage journalism has been going on for far too long to just let it prevail. Among his glaring faults is that he's just not as clever as the rest that get away with it. Poor guy. ;) Most of the criticisms on his critique have been spot on. Surprise, you're on candid camera, and everyone has seen right through you.
"A little controversy"
Hmm...sounds to me like ...
And that's exactly it. He could have given the game a 4 for that matter, so long as it was clear why. Grasping at straws is NOT a valid reason.
I've said it before, I don't use scores and ratings for my judgment, but they have a place because they're opinions, and everyone has a right to one.
My problem is with crap journalism and a lack of integrity. Ulterior motives and foul play are at work here. I would say it's a good thing that this has been brought to ligh...
and we always flock to it, but why?
Much of the gaming journalism as of late reminds me of Hollywood journalism. It's all about X vs Y, who's better than who, superlatives abound, Can ABC save XYZ this gen, top ten this, comparisons that, etc.
Someone please tell me how any of that trash constitutes good journalism. This isn't the Hard Rock Cafe or the Sunset Strip...we're playing games here. Give us information. Give us honest opinions. Give us synopses, preview...
that is a superb comment.
Games should be reviewed based on their own merit, whether or not they can stand on their own legs.
Why should he need to explain himself? Once again, yet another way to get hits. How many times has this been addressed already? I rest my case.
Give a controversial review to a high profile title and your ratings will skyrocket. Simple formula, works EVERY time.
Just don't dignify the crap, it's as simple as that. Whether we love them or hate them, the attention is all they want.
R-Type, and of those classic top-down shooters.
but it really doesn't hold a candle to Super Mario RPG. I find the lack of recognition that game gets to this very day to be staggering.
A timeless classic.
Regardless, well deserved.
Not as a discredit to the devs or anything, but just as something gone completely awry, I think this is pretty funny.
My PC can't handle the game as of now, so I can't enjoy this cool stuff. Kudos to those that found it.
I read Maximum PC every so often, but definitely not often enough. I'll want it mainly for games, but I'm not planning on building a rig for another year or so, maybe longer because of the possibility of traveling with my job.
I'm familiar enough with all of the main components, but I've never built a PC before and am interested in overclocking in order to prolong the usefulness of my future machine.
I guess I should wait for this or the Phenom, whichever is better.
One could interpret that as meaning that series is all but buried. Let's hope not.
Gaming journalists aren't "in the industry". At least I don't see it that way.
If you're not currently or previously involved in the development or publishing of a game or console, you're not quite there.
