I said you can mix and match weapons AND badges TO YOUR LIKING, meaning if I want to be an engineer with an assault rifle, I can't.
The vast amount of weaponry in CoD alone add a layer of depth that Killzone 2 can't achieve. Top that off with the fact that you can't mix and match weapons and badges to your liking, and you've stifled quite a bit of creativity and freedom right there.
Perks offer way more customization than does the badge system of Killzone, and although they are indeed quite different and function in different ways, customization is still very attractive and shouldn't be overlooked. I can't ev...
I haven't even beaten the campaign yet and I'm a General, working on a few more medals.
but it isn't fair to fault a game based upon lack of innovation, because such a term is merely a concept, it's not something you can receive satisfaction from as a result of playing the game.
How does one define innovation, and how does innovation affect a gameplay experience in and of itself? Sometimes, innovation can simply be a lame, unimaginative idea...but it's still new and fresh. Simply based upon this I don't see how adding a potentially half-baked gameplay gimmick should...
it's obvious just by the comments who hasn't touched firearms beyond the digital world.
If some of you had any inclination of how difficult and precise it is to fire accurately while simply standing still, you might then be able to reason with this. Let me meet someone who can run backwards, then jump and score a headshot on a MOVING person and maybe we can talk about this nonsense.
I don't see why blogs without any useful NEWS or media get approved as news.
I can't wrap my head around why the community here doesn't understand this, but a blog is in the same league as a forum post. It gives any idiot with a keyboard and time on their hands a voice to broadcast their BS all around the world.
I'm not exactly satisfied with gaming journalism either, but at least there's a modicum of professionalism there when it comes to structure, writing, and con...
"I'm not a fanboy, but...."
but you use words like Xbot, don't know how to correctly form a sentence("how much more the graphically powerful the PS3 is." capitalizes "dying" mid-sentence), and then go on a tirade pigeonholing the blame on people you would categorize as "Xbots". Real mature, expect a lot of people to take this tripe seriously. IMO, this garbage is just as bad as all of the tired articles and blogs about the PS3 needing to b...
and instead link to actual source?

Much more neutral.
See, I really have problems with statements like these.
First of all, they're vague. WTF does "it doesn't bring anything new" actually TELL someone about the game. What would be considered new? What is old? Some people would consider revising something old as new, whereas others might consider radical changes as something new, so where do we draw the line? That's one of the many problems with statements like that, there is no clarification, so a reader can't really draw...
If that's what a Halo-killer is, then why is it noteworthy enough to be the subject of your discussion? Furthermore, why are you arguing against a term that you don't believe in? Doesn't make sense. You declare that you don't believe in something, but then you go ahead and define it, and beyond that, you define it in terms that make it irrelevant. Based upon your definition, why are we even arguing Halo-killers? Why don't you write an essay next time saying why Halo won't kill the Britney Spe...
Although I disagree with JokesOnYou, how can he have unrealistic expectations when he's referring to OLD, playable footage?
In your blog, you ultimately resort to personal taste as your last line of defense as why Sony won't have a Halo killer. In your retorts here, you've talked about history, legacy, fanbase, and the like, so which is it?
The most pressing question in my mind is what defines Halo Killer to you? You won't even grant the proposition of another person's definition, so I'd like to hear what YOU think a Halo or any game killer is. IF you say that there is no such thing as a game-killer(w...
Good to know that I'm not the only one growing weary of this "XYZ needs to be saved" tripe. These types of headlines seemingly get recycled by different blogs and media outlets on a monthly basis.
I would say it's good that the community here is starting to wise up to this bollocks, but then again, here it is approved by that community and on the front page for yet another month. New year, same old N4G.
the author never establishes the parameters for what killing off Halo is. This exhibits a red herring. Every time he presents a situation for what could be interpreted as killing Halo in some sense, he refutes it by falling back on a crutch about personal taste. I'm all about individuality and opinions, but the logic here is skewed. I call it a crutch because even when presented with situations that have nothing to do with opinion(sales, online community strength, press coverage, hype, etc.),...
It's the sum of all it's parts that makes Killzone 2 such a standout achievement, but I do believe that the lighting that they have in place is second to none. I hardly even see lighting that good on top PC games.
Being such a high-profile title with so much riding on it, this is the type of thing that should get maximum exposure, not cherry-picked exclusivity deals here and there.
I'm buying the game day one regardless, I know that much, but with as many good things that I've heard about this game, from testers, t the general public, and the sensationalist mass media, you would think that they would want this in as many people's hands as possible to generate more buzz. I guess not.
I certainly don't believe Killzone 2 to be a "game-changer" per se, but it could have an impact on the console.
Think of CoD4, a game that Killzone gets compared to all the time. IF that game were exclusive, it would most certainly have moved consoles in one direction or the other.
Now, I didn't expect CoD4 to blow up as big as it did either, because although they were good games, I don't remember the previous titles being such runaway successes. Although i...
Neither of them are acceptable, simply because you can't quantify all of the variables that make a game worthwhile. Enjoyment, control, sound, visuals, and the innumerable intangibles that go into the experiences are impossible to define through a number.
If you ask 50 different people what a 7 means to them, you'll get fifty different answers. Furthermore, each number means different things to the big publications and media outlets as well, which further taints the legitimacy a...
That little bugger did it on purpose. It's obvious from how he looks into the camera before his outburst, and his flailing about is very obviously controlled.
I'm not entertained, annoyed, or impressed. Color me apathetic.
but I absolutely love how in this community, it's perfectly fine to defame and dismantle a game like this prerelease, yet if it's one of the several pet games on any particular system, all you hear are excuses and apologists coming out of the woodwork.
I've heard everything...
"This is alpha!"
"It will get better by release, I know it!"
"You haven't played yet so you don't know!"(but I do!)
"How can you judge it ...
