Personally I'm gonna refrain from passing any kind of judgment until I see a gameplay trailer or demo, but as far as the character design, I feel like I'm the only one who's opinion on the matter is indifferent.

Don't particularly like it, but I don't hate it either.

Who knows people, might just be a good game.

Seems to me that all of you dedicated fans WANT this game to fail. Riddle me this, how loyal a fan are you to wan...

Newsflash people, a demo is designed to SELL A PRODUCT, therefore no matter what you say about it not being the full game(DUH), all demos are designed by the developers to show off the best parts of their game to the end user.

Being that it's my $60 that's in my wallet, if a demo doesn't impress me, WHY ON EARTH would some of you still expect an individual to buy the product? What else is an individual to do?

Some of you apologists and fanboys are...

Although I bought my PS3 within the first 6 months at that outrageous price point...I still affirm that Sony released the console way too early, all because of Microsoft, no doubt. I can't say Microsoft is to blame however, but Sony buckled under the pressure. If what we're hearing here is true, then they've learned their lesson.

Features that we've only recently gotten, or shortly on the horizon, are all things that the PS3 should have launched with. The slow...

Games are taking too long to make nowadays. Developers seem to only now be getting into the swing of things, all the while upping their employee numbers and trying their best to get through the current economic situation. 2 years is not only too early, but it just doesn't make sense.

Things are changing, and we need to get the 5 year life span idea out of our heads, because it simply isn't practical anymore.

To be honest, I think the "pre-alpha" footage of KZ2 looked a bit better in a few ways than the final product. The hit-response system was more fluid and believable, the blood effects were otherworldly, and the PP filter was better on the whole.

I've really come to despise this pre-alpha term that's been liberally thrown about ever since then, because gamers take it for granted that a game will automatically and magically improve based on the time left to fi...

I'm in the crowd that wasn't bothered by the controls at all, but better responsiveness is better responsiveness.

Otherwise, the graphics look largely the same to me(aside from the MLAA), but with a noticeably bigger scale.

This is fine, a true testament to the horsepower of the PS3 without question, but I felt that the action and scope of KZ2 was fine where it was at. The firefights were fierce and the set pieces were beyond words. I would have prefe...

The only thing is, Kinect and a slimline console aren't the reasons why.

@ Karlowma, that goes without saying, but you show me a PC game that is an order of magnitude better than the best of the best console games, and I'll concede the point. Then I'll ask you to show me a PC that costs $300 or less that can run said game. The nature of the console market says hi.

@SuperM,

But at what cost? I'm not exclusively referencing money, but that's certainly a factor. As I said, 1080p for a new console would have to be stan...

Games are taking longer and costing more to make, and developers are only now starting to hit the ground running with the current set of consoles. Add to that the fact that motion gaming is just getting started on the current gen consoles, and it would be a slap in the face to release a new machine in any frame of time within 4 years.

Besides all of that, technology hasn't gotten far enough ahead of what we've got now to make for a substantial upgrade. If new consoles...

is disrespectful to the depth, characters, mythos, and everything else that's a part of the franchise.

Mortal Kombat I was a solid fighter with memorable characters and stages all on it's own sans fatalities, they were just another part of the whole. IMHO, a game like Mortal Kombat is about the sum of all it's parts. MK vs DC was atrocious, but the reasons why went far beyond fatalities.

I'm not impressed by anything more than the actual character models themselves.

The juggling looked absolutely ludicrous, see Kung Lao's kick juggle as an example. The mechanical look and feel from the Deadly Alliance trilogy is still apparent in this. The way the characters move, even when falling, attacking, or getting hit, looks like stop-motion claymation. It's all very rigid and lacks fluidity.

I will say that the fatality that Kung Lao was g...

So, since when was an article an opinionated piece consisting of three paragraphs?

Oh that's right, most people know that as an editorial, or a BLOG.

Some article, very substantiated.

Fanboys of all kinds rule the roost around here, that's nothing new, and for what it's worth, this place isn't nearly as bad as it was within the first two years of the current generation.

need to realize that any game at any stage isn't above criticism.

I see it far too often that people use the tired "alpha, pre-alpha, beta, whatever" stage crutch to say that some glaring mistake is excusable.

The thing the vast majority of you don't seem to realize is that these developers NEED to know exactly what's wrong or what could be better with their games, because SOMEONE is bound to notice. It doesn't matter what stage a ga...

An utter travesty that this game isn't on the list. Still a beautiful game even by today's standards, but everything about that scene, from a brooding snake waiting in the cargo bay, to how he flicks his cigar away, or diving out of the plane...everything about that scene screams greatness.

Most definitely my personal choice for #1.

but because it's so generic.

They should have just called it "The list of flagship characters from various fighting franchises", because that's all it was. Most, if not all, of those characters were on the covers of those games.

Their reasons, or the lack thereof, are trash as well. Nondescript and vague throughout, completely unoriginal.

A good game hasn't been made since MK3. It has been the laughing stock of fighters for well over a decade. Sad thing is, I love the characters, themes, and it's one of my favorite franchises.

I think they just ought to sell the rights to a different team and let them have a shot at it, because I'm convinced that while Ed Boon is spearheading the development, the games will always be doomed to suck.

Every 4 years he promises a reboot that returns to the roots, but he ...

From what I understand, Capcom doesn't have the Marvel license anymore.

I certainly hope it's true, I just doubt it.

I still have my extremely well kept copy of the PS2 version. Probably the biggest reason I haven't shelved my 60 for a slim.
