Wow. GT5 holds up well. Trees are 2d but look less cartoony. Forza car models still look a bit off in some of those shots as well. There is more 3d detail in the environments in F4, but they look fake.
Those who say the lighting in Forza 4 is better are nuts. I think some of you aren't getting out enough to see what outdoor lighting is really like. ;)
Gears has a better story arc, but probably one of the worst story deliveries I've seen in a game. The characters and the dialogue/voice acting is some of the worst I've experienced. It's almost embarrassing. It's a great series, great action, a decent story, but man is it piss poor with delivery.
I think MS knows what would happen if they made even just Online play free. They probably would lose at least half of the gold members that they currently have. XBL is the best service IMO, but it isn't worth the cost over PSN. At least not the way I play. Others will find good value in it though.
Apple somehow have convinced a lot of sheep that it can do everything better than so many products. I DO think that it's the best tablet on the market overall with it's slick hardware and huge apps library, but it still SUCKS compared to even a DS for gaming. Add some buttons and we might start talking.
Uncharted 3 for a wayyy better story and cast of characters. Gears 3 for a great co op experience and more gore. Both are great. Gears though is more about gore and less about great scripts and casts of characters. I never give a crap about the dialog in Gears.
Exactly. How the hell do you make someone cry when part of your games is farting? He always has all of these ideas, but has no concept what so ever on what goes with what. He just puts every idea he ever has into a game and goes with it. I'm surprised how he misses this consistently with his games. He talks like X game will be a huge step forward in gaming, he releases a game, half of the hype was crap, and then he's hard on himself for not seeing it at the time. It's really stran...
There are some things that the PS3 and 360 that IMO are doing better, but some things that the WiiU apparently is doing that I haven't seen as much with the PS3 and 360. The geometry and textures could be done easily. But the reflections and transparencies are something the PS3 and 360 might not be able to handle. GT5 though and Forza 3 have some good reflections happening. I'm sure there will be advantages to this hardware just based on the specs alone.
You don't even have to bring the PS3 into this to convince me that there are better cinematics out there. Their engine is famous for pop in, chugging, streaming issues. I would put their engine in the top 5, but other engines including a few mplats are doing things better and smoother. Don't you go and make this about the PS3 and 360 now. ;)
Do these guys even bother to play other games? They've been behind for quite some time now in a lot of areas.
I also find it funny that they mention what their tech can do on a high end PC. Can you imagine how much better Uncharted would look on the specs they are talking about? These guys are living in a dream world like it's 2005 again and they are competing against Resistance 1 and Rrrrridge Racer. Man are they out of touch.
Just like the $299 pricecut did nothing, right? Oh wait. The PS3 sold 15M that year and the 360 has never reached over 13M. At $199, they'll sell at least 18m.
Get ready for "Gears of Battle" next summer! LOL
It's funny though. You know you've reached a higher level of gaming when someone tries to ride off your coat tales and duplicate the same thing.
Hey, I wonder if Sony actually brought PSN down on itself so everyone could try Infamous 1 and then want to buy Infamous 2! LOL. Brilliant! ;)
No. The glitch was a glitch with XBL. Don't read into it anymore than that guys. LOL
Very poor review. I won't bother wasting my time on that site ever again. No way this game is a 6. The guy complains about including an editor? I'm not saying this game is even a 9 or 10. But no way is it a 6. He made it sound like it was one of the worst games he's played. LOL
I love it! Not for long term obviously, but some games I'm not sure I want to buy. I'll use this from now on. I already use the service a lot for movies.
How on earth did they think that we wouldn't mind?
You guys actually made your cause look horrible now. You actually are doing the EXACT opposite. Now there are more people supporting Sony than ever and they don't care about your cause. There was far more interest in your cause before the hacks. Now PS3 owners just want Sony to stay stable and people are hating on the hackers.
So congrats. People will probably stand up for Sony and their practices m...
I just want it to be the next warhawk personally. That said, I love Halo as well. I would just rather both games stay the way they are.
Man, I wish Fable looked that good. LOL.
Obviously the people who pushed Kinect on this have never played Minecraft and actually mined. I can't imagine doing the actions for mining the way I do. Imagine digging down for Diamonds (which are the lowest areas) and having to manually dig each block. It's just stupid. I could see the fighting parts and even some of the wandering around. But the mining would be brutal and get old within a few minutes.
That said, if it's a good version, I might get this now th...
It's really too bad. With Fable 1, you had this game that was really focused on what gamers wanted. Fable 2 started pushing this sims like stuff like emotions and actions like farting that had not impact or point. Fable 3 got more watered down with his ideas to put in a game, and now this.
Molyneux has great ideas for games. He just doesn't know what type of games to put them in, so the games become misdirected. It's like he's experimenting each time, but doe...
If you are a true racing fan, you'll love GT5. But you will also love F4. Both are doing great things. GT5 does dynamic lighting and weather which is HUGE on resources in a game vs staged/fixed/baked lighting and weather. It's much higher res as well. F4 has more 3d in the track surroundings though, so each are cheating in some areas and doing great in others.
