If you view it as a content service and not an answer to Live Gold, yes. It sure isn't perfect, but it's a great start.
You guys can't expect this level of detail and cars crumpling in 1080p. It's way better than what I was expecting them to deliver, and the weight looks better than Forza 3 for crashes. That's all I was expecting. Not cars ripping to shreds.
This guy should start his own cult. He has the megalomania god complex going already. Seriously, this gets tiring. He's never lived up to what he says. It's always pretty good, but never as good.
I will say that they should drop the phone and Zune HD and focus on Windows, Office, Bing, and XB Live.
So why did one phone load the webpage and the other didn't? Did they basically try and make the 4g phone look faster by using Wifi and the 3G with 3G? I just don't get why one phone worked and one didn't. Seemed like he was trying to BS the 3G one.
Let's face it. For a CEO that has decided to slam Windows in every Mac commercial by saying Windows has issues, this is just perfect. LOL
I think the problem was quite evident in the video. Here you have THE MS demonstrator, and she is having a hard time coordinating herself to play the only game they've shown. They had about a 70% miss rate on this "pick up and just play" game. I think I'd be done with that game in about 3 minutes. Compare that to the Sony Move pingpong game they just threw together where people were hitting this small ball with spin and finesse, and actually keeping the ball in play. It'...
Looks like I'll get the 360 version if this is the case. Although I don't have a Gold Live account anymore. Hmmmm... One or the other. Is the online any good?
Weird reasons not to get the PS3.... I mean at least piracy on the PS3 isn't rampant like on the 360. And leading vs following? Sony came out with Natal in a lesser form years ago, and Move was a prototype before the Wii was announced. Not to mention games like LBP and other genres that Sony have basically created on their own with their own IPs. I don't mind people having reasons to not get the PS3. Bad ports of games, no invite system, friends don't have it, Netflix better on 360, and so on...
Sony needs to buy these guys up right away. They've been putting out some good games with interesting twists lately.
Natal plus a price cut could give MS a bit more of a gap. But as it stands without many changes, the PS3 will pass it within 18 months. But again if Natal makes a splash, who knows really.
I love the overall feel, but man... The character interactions and animations are really forced in this. Even the cutscenes. This is day one for me though regardless, but it looked like there were some pretty chuggy framerates a few places as well. I sure would love to see this thing actually released on a PC again to do it justice. :)
Liked the killzone 2 atmospheric effects, the depth of field effects, the increase in detail over Gears 2. I wish I had seen gameplay though. Hopefully at E3.
Great to hear about the responsiveness and speed. Now just to show us demos besides the ball one and the breakdancing. These 2 demos just need to keep track of the edges of the body. What I need to see is just tracking the hands and more subtle things. So far it's still just doing (all be it more advanced) Eyetoy edge tracking. I want to see the facial recog, a fighting game, and so on.
As of now, they are basically where they were with Natal at the E3 premiere but without the p...
If they can't meet or go beyond what say Uncharted 3 shows in the coming months, they probably should wait until next gen. If they have something that will be a huge leap from Gears 2, then by all means.
It can be played that way generally, but it's not built to be played that way anymore. You can't even hide bodies. I mean come on. That's pretty basic and was essential in the previous games so you wouldn't be detected.
Why anyone would buy this version at launch when it's just Wifi is beyond me. Some Apple fans would buy a $40 pencil if it had an Apple logo on it and Steve Jobs said it was a game changer. LOL
At the very least, wait until the 3G version comes out.
Sigh... For a game that is relying so much on stealth, having bodies out in the open is just silly. I mean my grandma would move a body if she killed someone. LOL. Horrible omission. That plus no real multiplayer (basically just all co op modes with just 1 other person) to me suggests they rushed this out. Still looks fun, but not nearly as good as it could have been.
I'm the first in line to say that Halo is over-hyped. But those two questions don't really matter IMO. The MP code from Halo 3 was good and the hosting issue isn't a big deal either.
So has it been revealed that Alan in this game is horribly spastic and trips and stumbles all the time? Look at his body positioning in both the action shots. Looks like he should be doing a faceplant on the ground a second or so after the shots. LOL. Twisted legs, arms unnaturally positioned. Love the look of the enemy character models, but Alan is an akward, twisted mess in a lot of shots that I see when in action.
I love how the game is looking, but stop fluffing up your game with comments like this and just release it already. Focus on those standard cars and bring them up to your PS4 specs. LOL
