This should have been a 500gb model. Why have one so close to 250gb which was just barely released?
Just straight up beautiful.
I bought a PS3 for Team ICOs next project, but this does look quite good as well. No doubt I will be more impacted by The Last Guardian than this blatant ripoff, but I do like what I saw there as well.
This is remote play on the PS3/PSP but with more devices but with crappy controls. Can anyone think of a single 360 game that they would want to continue to play on that phone? You can't just force any game on a control scheme that has next to no buttons. Feel free to list games that will work well on this device besides Tetris or maybe bejeweled.
It's a great concept, but the phone will kill those games with a useless control scheme. It'll be interesting to see if the PSP Phone...
The Warhawk sequel (Star Hawk)is being developed outside of Sony first party studios, so it can't be this game if it's coming directly from Sony. My bet still is that it's either Sly Cooper or Syphon Filter on the PS3 for the first time.
Sly Cooper ;)
This is the kind of review that can sell the PS3 and this game to the non gamer. Great review to sell this game to non gamers. :)
Fable 2 had some great looking areas and other areas bordering on Xbox 1 quality. Peter really needs to put a consistent game for once. He focuses too much on cutting edge mechanics without thinking if it would be:
a) fun
b) make sense for the story
He's got so many great ideas, but he's yet to put them in a complete package without other things he added that take away from the game. Keep it simple Peter.
Looks like a mix between Pirates of the Caribbean and Darth Maul with the art style of Monkey Island
Add a Boba Fett costume and I'll pay for it in a flash. Come on Lucas Arts. This is easy money. They should make another 10 or so Star Wars costumes and make easy money. People in Home will eat it up.
It's looking more than good enough to be the next Halo to be released, but this won't crack the top 10 looking games IMO by the end of 2010 when it's released. Too many games have added wind whipping up dust, way more smoke, particle effects, destruction, more vegetation, better looking trees, more interaction with the environment. They finally added proper mo cap and at least some camera blur, but other games are going way beyond that now.
Duh....
Agent
FF14
GT5
God of War 3
Resistance 3
Heavy Rain
The Agency
DC Comics Online
Those all stand up quite well with what's being released. I don't mind articles that compare, but there wasn't any proper comparing. Did they even bother to think about what was actually being released on the PS3? And Sony has gone out and said they have a lot to reveal soon as well. I would call it a wash for now, with the PS3 probably ha...
The rough part is GG is probably going to release footage some time this year to raise the bar a lot higher than their early 2009 game release. They're going to have had around 2 years to put a lot more polish into things.
Don't get me wrong. Reach looks so expansive. The AI will be great, and the gameplay will rock. But technically it's already looking pretty sparse and dated by not doing anything more than looking expansive and clean. The detail in the environments just isn't ...
Reach looks great, but it's too clean, sparse, barren... You compare the atmosphere of Killzone 2 with layers upon layers of smoke, dust, wind.... It's like Halo Reach is Killzone 2 without any of the effects except gun flare turned on. What makes KZ2 so special technically is the layers upon layers of particle effects, smoke, lens flares, heat distortion. Halo Reach is missing that so far in spades, so it looks like a cutdown version of KZ + Gears 2 to me. It's a lot better than Halo 3 thoug...
Pffft. Neither are doing that much, so who cares? ME2 lighting flickers shadows on and off, and this Reach lighting is basically diffused lighting 101.
Wow at the variety of texture work. Not just a tiled grass texture but variation and depth. That looks just awesome.
All the while, Nintendo silently releases Wii2, and people don't even care about Natal or the PS3 wand. ;)
Nintendo is the one to beat here in this space. Not Sony. If Nintendo releases or announces the Wii2 around the release of Natal, Natal could be dead in the water. Same with the PS3 wand.
Hmmm. They are learning from Hiphopgamer it seems to bring in traffic. Sad. You really had to write this? I love Mass Effect 2, but Uncharted brought the cinema polish from beginning to end with characters that stick in your mind because of the attention to detail ND have applied to the game. ME2 in some areas (including the cross eyed dialog and fake facial expressions) is just plain rough looking. They could have worked out the kinks another 4 months on this title.
What a dikc. So 75% of videos are flash on the Internet, hundreds of thousands of games are Flash. He's full of BS. He's doing this because Flash has taken over as the Internet standard for video instead of Quicktime, and FREE flash game threaten 75% of the iPhone games library. He wants a CLOSED system so he can charge for things you should get free, and force formats that users aren't using.
And don't get me going with what he's done to gaming (basically selling the idea that c...
Heavy rain has wayyyyy more variables to account for. There are so many paths to take which are all chained together. Alan Wake is just way more linear in terms of choices and dialog paths from what I can tell.
