Yep, 3D gaming didn't go so well. Although I have to admit that I enjoyed the games that have 3D.
3D is fine for gaming. I have no problem putting on the glasses and playing 3D games. I don't think it is worth a premium though.
The issue I have with VR is that you put it over your whole field of view and you need space. People think they look like morons playing Kinect? What do you think a person looks like with a VR device on? Hint: Moron... ...
There is a lot of financial incentive for MS to continue with 360. It still has a strong install base, I am sure that there are a lot of gamers that kept their 360 even after X1 shipped for BC and to finish games they want to complete (achievement-wise). Running 360 thru the HDMI port works great (for me).
Also, the hardware is more profitable then X1 and they are earning royalties on each software sale free and clear.
Also, with games like Titanfall, Desti...
Interesting how people are so interested in VR. I have the Oculus Rift and it is immersive, but the fun wore off after about a week of play... I'm back to my controller...
Just like I dumped the Wiimote, Move, Kinect, and many other add-ons that were to make games more immersive and natural to play...
I can't fault companies for trying, but, the game controller is probably one of the greatest gaming inventions ever...
There's a lot of room for improvement on all three of the next gen consoles...
Nintendo: Really needs to work the online and social features of their console. Improve performance of the UI, and add a decent achievement/trophy system.
Sony: Needs to continue to improve the PSN to match up feature for feature with Live. They have come a long way, but it still isn't the service Live is...
Microsoft: Needs to bring the great things a...
That doesn't need to be in uPlay. Games can unlock and give you content on their own.
EA is just publishing this through their partner program...
I know they will see profits from it, but I don't really look at it as an EA title... To me it is Respawn's title and EA is just marketing it.
Did they ever really have it?
@aiBreeze and @XiSasukeUchiha...
TRUST? Sony is one to talk about trust...
Backwards Compatibility was an integral part of the PS3, but removed after a year...
Dual-boot was to give people choice but it was removed...
Home was the social network to end all social networks, yet it isn't even on the PS4...
Move was to be the ultimate gaming controller, yet Sony doesn't market it for PS4...
Gamers don't care about E3...
They care about what is delivered...
MS has out-delivered Sony so far this generation...
(Bring on the disagrees Sony fanboys!)
Wow, so everyone who bought an X1 so far is not a "real gamer"?
I think you are mistaken... "Real gamers" don't give a crap about what console they buy. They buy console(s) for games... Not developers, not promises of games (ex. Last Guardian), not who has the best marketing show, etc... They buy consoles for games.
That's why I have the X1, PS4, and Wii U... I get to play ALL of the BEST games.
I understand ...
Agreed. I would argue funding studios is actually better than owning them...
MS is an American company... In America it is better to contract the work then own the studio. Whereas the work ethics are different in Japan. It is better to own then fund.
This is more a cultural choice and business model.
Besides that, if you look at MS Game Studios on Wikipedia, and compare it to Sony Game Studios you will actually see there is not much diffe...
Also...
Blood Wake
Perfect Dark (true sequel)
Kameo
Project Gotham Racing
Halo Wars
That is BS.
They knew what was coming...
Anywhere with PS4 pre-orders has sold out within minutes or hours since July. They can't say they didn't know it was coming...
@ziggurcat...
That isn't lame, that is protecting my personal and financial information against potential harm and putting it in places where I feel I can trust it.
@tjg59... Yes, you can, but the head tracking and field of range Kinect gives is superior to personal devices.
Max Curse of Brotherhood runs circles around Knack...
God of war, God of war II, God of War III, God of War Betrayal, God of War Chains of Olympus, God of War III, God of War Ghosts of Sparta, God of War Ascension...
All since 2005... That's an average of a game per year!
Then, the HD, re-makes, and ports...
God of War Collection, God of War Origins Collection, God of War Saga...
Yep, Sony is well-versed in milking!
This is a very fun top down dual stick shooter... It isn't milking the franchise at all. It is just as good and deep as the best top down dual stick shooters out there...
I got it on my Win 8 and Win Phone... Because of this, I got it for $4.99 on my X1... In total I have it on three platforms and only paid $15.00 for it in total. You can hardly call that milking.
I would love to see a Crackdown sequel...
The first one was amazing and set the bar for fun last generation...
The second game wasn't as good, but it was still fun...
It would be great to see a new one with the new generation of tech.
MS is really hauling out exclusives so far this gen. Hopefully they keep this pattern up... DR3, Ryse, Forza, Powerstar Golf, Lococycle, Max and the Curse of Brotherhood, Zoo Tycoon, Hal...
That is a lame excuse for a corporation you conjured up...
They are offering a service that people are paying for. And the service level they are providing has not been great lately for many users of it (I can't complain about PSN because mine hasn't been down).
But, you say MS is screwing their customers... MS is not screwing customers if they are charged a fee and get a reliable service. MS has been very clear that they provide a reliable onli...
Microtransactions are here to stay whether gamers like it or not...
As long as microtransactions do not become mandatory in games to complete them in a legitimate amount of time I am OK with them.
Unfortunately there are a lot of games already where this is not true...
