I have no regrets or disappointment about my Xbox One purchase.
Deadrising 3 was a riot! I am still at Forza 5, and Ryse was surprisingly good. Also, Powerstar Golf was fun, and Killer Instinct is awesomeness! Add to that after launch Max the Curse of Brotherhood and Halo Spartan Assault! Sure the graphics of some of these titles wasn't next gen, but X1 has kept my gaming habit happy!
A price cut does not make sense right now...
There will be a lot of "sales" for the Easter holiday, but no formal price cuts. Price cuts are ineffective now as people are recovering from holiday spending by not spending on anything significant. The, spring/summer will roll around and people will go on holidays rather than buying game consoles.
They will save price cuts for the late August-September timeframe just before holiday buying frenzies sta...
Welcome to the next gen everyone! Patches have now gone from megabytes and hundreds of megabytes, to gigabytes and now tens of gigabytes!
Last gen, MS limited patch sizes and people whined. Now, there are no limits and people are whining again!
People got what they asked for, good and hard!
I agree consoles are here to stay... No doubt about it...
But, judging consoles based on their first few months of sales? There is a long way to go here. And I don't think consoles are as strong as they were last gen when the Wii and RockBand brought a lot of casuals to gaming. There just doesn't seem to be any casual enthusiasm yet this gen. And core gamers don't amount to a few hundred million people...
By the end of the spring we may see ne...
Unchartered is a great action adventure. I think outside of Last of Us, it was the best new IP Sony had last gen. And while Tomb Raider shipped Anniversary, Legend and Underworld Sony kicked its ass with Unchartered.
But, the reboot last spring was a masterpiece. Essentially, this was the answer to Unchartered and it is not only is as good as Unchartered, but the slight survival horror feel to it, the extremely personal and emotional story in the reboot, and probably the b...
I agree open world racing with real cars and real physics was way more fun than the same tracks we have been racing for over two decades between all the racing sims on all platforms.
It's funny reading the comments in this thread. A lot of the comments are from people being dramatic about a gaming guy leaving because MS is more focused on entertainment....
They obviously didn't read the article as this guy was one of the key people in leading the entertainment push of Xbox to broader entertainment... LOL...
I would argue the article shouldn't even be on this site because it is not at all gaming related.
Interesting.... You might want to read the article...
This guy is one of the people that headed up the focus on the media direction at Xbox. He is not a games guy...
He was the former chairman of Universal Studios before he came to MS... He probably wasn't involved in a single game at MS!
Headline should be 3DS continues Japanese domination...
Everything else is a footnote...
PC > PS and XB...
I don't know why anyone would buy a console...
More expensive games, less games, and they don't have Steam.
Yep, I don't know how that became crafty, but I have to admit I never thought of doing it...
Even though it is obviously possible and clearly easy to do.
as S2KillInit trolls on yet another XB thread.
Upgraded my PS3 and PS4 to 1 TB drives last week... The hardest part is formatting a HDD to 1 TB if you only have Windows 8 (OS does not support formatting for FAT32).
Had to download a freeware app to do the format.
Other than that, any monkey with half a brain could do the upgrade themselves with the instructions on Sony's web site...
Yep, perfect examples are Lair, Twisted Metal, Knack, the last three or four Ratchet & Clanks, GT5, GT5 Prologue, Haze, Time Crysis 4, Mag, Dust 514, PS All Stars Battle Royale, God of War Ascension, etc.
I don't think that's a great list...
1) Quantum Break
2) Titanfall
3) Sunset Overdrive
4) Fable Legends
5) D4
Really exceptional headline...
And they failed to mention that PS3 has consistently sold double xbox 360 in Germany for the last few months as well... Not really news when the same thing continues generation over generation.
I have Oculus Rift... The fun wore off after a week. It is a good device, but you have to have space and people shouldn't be around distracting you (aka family members).
Also, it is not a good device for many hours of gameplay. (I at least) got motion sick if I played with it for more then an hour at a single time.
Chances are the writing required for Destiny has been done for a while. Also, Bungie is signed on for three titles for Activision... Likely all Destiny, so the "creative" writing part is probably completed already.
He's probably just moving to get back into the creative side rather than maintain an IP he has already done the creative parts on...
Nothing.
I am already paying for Sony's online gaming services. If it isn't part of PSN+ I won't be buying it.
I might be missing something here, but I don't see the value proposition here.
First, I still have my PS3's so I am able to play whatever games I want there for a one time cost and most of the good games are cheap now.
Second, I like the ability to game on many devices, but practically I neve...
This doesn't say anything about X1...
This says everything about the gaming industry...
Whether it be PS, Wii, or XB... Every time I start a game, it seems like it needs a patch if I haven't touched it in a few weeks or months!
Whether its BF, CoD, Unchartered, God of War, Gears of War, Halo, Mario, Zelda etc... The size of the patches vary from small to large, and now with DR3 very large... I just hate patching no matter what the s...
