These kinds of articles are garbage.
Good games are good games, doesn't matter if they are next gen.
But you can't earn achievements on your console using any of these solutions!
Why I prefer my MS consoles over my sony consoles (Yes, I have them both)...
On February 28, 1992 I bought a brand new 43" Sony Backlit TV with a one year warranty for $3,000 (Which at the time was four months of my hard earned money). On February 28, 1993 it died and I phoned sony to get it fixed/replaced. Sony told me it was no longer on warranty because they counted 365 days as a year and I was one day over the warranty (due to the 1992 leap year).
The sky is falling with yet another issue that probably is only affecting a limited number of gamers. I hate these articles.
Gears will be exciting when they announce a ship date and that ship date is within a six month of the release.
I do not get overly excited about any game without a specific ship date in the next six months.
Last Guardian, Killzone 2, Alan Wake, Too Human are all perfect examples of fanboys getting hyped way too early only to be disappointed one or several times... For Last Guardian the disappointment just seems to never end.
I don't think we have seen enough gameplay of either to choose anything.
LOL. Halo is already annualized for the most part. Last gen Halo 3, Halo Wars, Halo ODST, Halo Reach, Halo Anniversary, Halo Reach, and Halo Spartan Assault.
That's 7 Halo games in 8 years! And this year we will probably Halo 2 Anniversary.
Annualizing Halo like Mario has been annualized. By shipping different genres of games under the Halo label. This is not a bad thing. It becomes bad when it is always the same genre like Assassin's Creed and ...
To me, both are equal...
XBL has a more stable and more secure service that I can rely on 24x7x365 without fail. Also, the weekly deals on XBL seem to be better than PSN.
PS+ offers better free games. And more free services.
It is more a question of what is important to you.
The gears announcement Monday distracted gamers enough. They didn't need to have "leaks".
Look's at comments...
Realizes that 90% of comments are from a bunch of naysaying Sony fanboys rather than from any real gamers that appreciate or have ever played Forza which is a great racing sim.
Moves on to next supposed story on N4G.
Your the non-gamer and you're living in the bubble.
PC gamers have used steam for years. PSN and XBLA only distribute digitally.
I travel a lot. Having digital games makes it easier for me to log into different consoles and play the games I own. I don't need a Blu-ray drive or discs everywhere I go. It just makes sense for my gaming scenario.
Personally, I feel this feature is a gimmick.
I never liked blu-ray being shoved down my throat to begin with. If X1 would've launched with a no blu-ray edition I would've bought it instead.
On both PS4 and X1, I have only bought digital this generation. That's the way I want to keep it.
Framerate does matter.
But 30 fps seems to be a benchmark for a game to start at.
Last of Us and Halo 4 were both solid 30 fps. I don't think anyone can truely say these games sucked because they were not 60 fps.
Facebreaker, Dynasty Warriors Gundam, and Bomberman Act Zero were all 60 fps last gen... How many people thought these were the best games on PS3 and/or 360?
I have no doubt frame rate is important. But what is the minimum frame rate for a game to be considered "smooth"?
To me, 30 FPS is where games become smooth... When it is lower you see noticeable stuttering and jumping in the framerate. But 30 and above seems to always be good.
It is like the refresh rate on TVs... 60 Hz is ok for most regular 2D shows but is unacceptable for 3D. 120 Hz is acceptable for almost all 2D and 3D. And 240 Hz is gra...
Last gen, Sony held cross platform games back for the first 3-4 years as game devts and sony worked to figure out the architecture of the PS3 and build the tools to use the architecture.
In the end, the PS3 was ahead but many people forget Call of Duty being low res on PS3, Orange Box load and frame rate issues, etc.
@Puppy_Farts
Also, I have two X1's. One, I do not have Kinect on. And the other I do. All games work fine without Kinect connected (as long as they are not Kinect centric games such as Fighter Within, Just Dance, and Zumba). Deadrising, Forza, Ryse, etc. all play just fine without Kinect.
That is BS. So, why do people buy PSN and XBLA games if they are only rentals?
There is no difference between buying a PSN or XBLA game digitally and a full retail game digitally. In both scenarios you are not limited on playing the game.
Your only limitations come in your ability to re-sell or trade the game. You buy, and you will always own it.
I am a huge Xbox fan. Over 1,850 games....
