Like you can trust Sony anymore than MS?
What happened to the all important backward compatibility in PS3 for PS2 games? They axed it then re-released PS2 games on PS3 making the customers pay.
Why is there no cross game chat for PSN on PS3?
They said dual boot was important but scrapped it.
They said multiplayer gaming should be free, but on PS4 they are now charging for it.
They kept teasing Last Guardian,...
Everyone is bound to pay royalties to everyone else... Either that, or they have an agreement to exchange patents so that they don't actually pay anything...
How that is news I have no clue.
Yes, unless they sell exactly the same amount, one console will be ahead.
MS has just been trying to protect consumers...
The theory behind requiring a publisher, is around game support. Devt studios come and go often, so requiring a publisher theoretically reduces the risk of devt studio disappearance. Yes, I know publishers like THQ and Atari went bankrupt this last gen as well so the argument doesn't hold up as well. But, it was about intention. The intention was to protect consumers against indies coming and going all the time and consu...
I am not a Wii U hater. The fact is that sales are brutal.
Do I think it is going to turn around? NO...
Do I think Nintendo has a bright future? YES...
Do I think that the future for Nintendo is in making living room consoles? I DON'T KNOW.
Has the Wii U bombed? ABSOLUTELY.
The PS3 started off slow but continually improved in sales, thanks to new solid IPs, price drops, and the industry abandonment of...
Yes, I saw that, but I think MS had problems early on with getting the yield where they wanted to.
I lost two to RRoD but MS fixed them both for free through the white coffin program!
I currently have 11 in my home and since 2007 have not lost one to RRoD.
It is good that AG said that X1 pre-orders are above X360. But from a realistic stand point this means nothing other than MS has a limited supply of the Day One consoles.
Nobody knows if that's 100000, 10000000 or somewhere in between.
From rumors of initial yield problems on X1 chips, I would assume MS will have a tougher time meeting demand this holiday season than Sony.
But, I expect both to sell out in North America and probably Euro...
- 3.5 million is still less than 4 million by a significant margin.
- Yes, Sony had two skus for PS3.
- Blu-ray means a lot to some people not so much for others, but Blu-ray has a much higher data capacity than Wii U's custom player so games can bigger and require more space
- 3rd party support will not increase until sales of the Wii U increase
- Yes, Nintendo is heavy first party, but, this is eroding.

Microsoft will only phase DRM back in if the publishers back it through AAA exclusives and/or Sony joins in as well.
Wii U is already finished. MS and Sony do not have to do anything to make that happen.
Under powered, no blu-ray, nominal storage, dwindling 3rd party support, and a platform that just doesn't have decent sales figures = finished.
Wii U has sold just over 3.25 million to date. PS3 was a slow start with a $599 price tag for a product people wanted but couldn't afford and it sold 4 million in the same period of the first year. Wii U is almost half th...
I hate these articles for this exact reason.
No ship date identified = Game does not exist.
No matter what platform it is for...
Speculation and assumptions lead to disappointment.
These guys are making valid points. People are only idiots if they don't listen and understand...
Calling people idiots for raising concerns such as these will only lead to the demise of the gaming industry.
He's not able to make a game because the model won't let him make money...
His resume is impressive... Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden Black, and Ninja Gaiden II. These are great core games. But, now he can't find a publisher probably because the sales aren't going to match up with the cost to develop these types of games.
But most mobile games can be picked up and played in seconds. 90% of the planet is not interested in games that require a half-hour or multiple hours per chapter. They want to pick up and play it for 10 mins and make some real progress.
Also, mobile games are convenient because they are on a device like a smart phone that you usually take everywhere. So whether I am at Wal-Mart or waiting for diner at a nice restaurant I can pick up, play, and make tangible progress in a m...
If you would've read the article you would know that the quick time events are optional finishers.
This is just like God of War and many other games. Personally, I liked what I saw in the game demo, although I would've liked to see more in depth stuff.
True, codes are required on almost all MS software. The rest is BS.
I have been involved in literally, 10's of thousands of MS operating system and software installs.
First, MS provided us master codes for our Enterprise Agreement. Second, you retain perpetual software licensing for the software you have installed. So, if you cancel, you can continue to use the software forever. You just cannot install new instances.
Also, the yearly c...
I would hope that is their mandate...
I certainly hope the mandate would not be:
"Make generic games you can experience on any platform".
Ubisoft does this kind of thing with their uPlay already. I don't end up going out and buying more Ubisoft games or playing them more because of it... Also, Xbox avatar awards have been around for a while now. Although that is not the same as playing a game to get rare collectibles in that game or other games, it is a similar concept because it gives you avatar items for stuff in game.
I refuse to play a game simply to "get rare stuff"...
I...
@Insomnia_84
I would like to hear you invalidate those facts.
@dantesparda...
I wasn't being a fanboy, just pointing out that Sony is just as flawed as MS...
